Hidden Mafia King and the Fearless CEO

His three women

“Make a room in the hospital for your wife; I’ll see her tomorrow morning,” she said as she exited the room.

Jobert remained silent for a few seconds before asking cautiously. “You can… Treat my wife?”

Her lips raised and her head slanted to the right. “The last time I checked, you had high confidence that I could heal your wife. Now that I can, you doubt my abilities?”

“Haiyaaa, I said so. Doctor Acinea can heal your wife, boss. That’s approved! I’ll call the hospital right away!” Carlos said excitedly and dialed the number.

Jenica’s lips trembled slightly. Don’t steal the spotlight from the primary agent, the HQ said, but don’t act stupid and uninformed! And what’s the deal with Haiyaa? And what’s the deal with Haiyaa? He even took a chef’s famous expression.

“But, Doctor,” Jobert frowned, “What is wrong with my wife?” He lifted his brows and gave her a stern look.

Jenica gave a sweet smile. “Your wife was poisoned, Jobert.”

“Poisoned?” The crease on his brow deepened. “Who poisoned her?!”

“I also wanna know who is sinister to put poison in her food.”

Jobert blinked and averted his gaze. Jenica’s smile widened as she gazed around at the concealed guards in the corner. Despite the fact that there are no maids, she is aware that there are five hidden guards concealing and guarding the woman within the room. It sounds sweet, but the man beside her has suspicious intentions.

As a result, when she excused herself to visit the restroom, she quickly phoned the assistant. “Any news?” she inquired.

“I’ll send the information to you, Agent J.”

“Good. Also look for this man’s background, and look into his first and second wife’s background as well.”

“Roger that.”

She hung up and opened the phone. There is information on the factory written there. It’s a rubber products factory from the 1990s. Except for the gas poisoning of its employees fifteen years ago, there have been no strange actions in recent years. The victims’ families sued the owner, but the lawsuit was ultimately abandoned after the two sides reached an agreement.

When she read the last bit of information, Jenica lifted her brows. Antonete Enterprise purchased the aforementioned factory fifteen years ago. She reviewed the factory’s recent activity and found nothing odd except gas poisoning.

She didn’t think Antonete was hiding anything within it.

That night, she considered going to the factory with Carlos. The man couldn’t even properly smile. Jenica’s smile grew. “What? Are you afraid of breaking in?” she teased.

His expression darkened. “You said there was a gas poisoning. Maybe you should make me your human shield, Agent J, huh? I hope not!”

Jenica shook her head, “Pfft.” “Come on, don’t be a coward. At least you get a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with me.”

“Yeah, yeah. Your teammates are avoiding you at HQ,” he said quietly, and Jenica could hear him.

“Are you saying something, Agent C?”

“No, Ma’am!” he said hurriedly, shaking his head.

She rolled her eyes and jumped up the high wall after making sure no one was looking around. “They’re too lax in this area,” she remarked before donning the night vision goggles. As Carlos jumped in, she looked around.

“The security guard looks asleep, Agent J. We’re lucky tonight!” he said.

Jenica’s lips trembled slightly. “What are you? A burglar?”

“Agent J, you can’t take jokes now?”

Jenica brushed him aside and pulled out some small bat-like devices. These devices were flying throughout this area. She obtained the structural plan of the building, including the areas where the security guards are stationed, using their 3D vision. Jenica raised the corner of her mouth. Excellent work.

So she began investigating while attempting to avoid the security personnel. And if they can’t be avoided, it’s up to Carlos to keep them at bay.

Before Carlos turned to face her, the final muscular man collapsed in front of him. “Are there more on the way, Agent J?” a breathless question.

She cast a peek at the sweaty Carlos. Her lips trembled slightly. “You lack exercise. Use this to train your body well.”

Carlos’ eyes widened as he realized what was going on. “Are you leading those cretins to us?” Jenica shrugged, causing Carlos’ face to flush with displeasure. “What a heartless woman!” he growled, bracing himself for another brawl.

Jenica didn’t care because she was too busy collecting samples of water and rubber-making components. She also analyzed the mercury levels in each ingredient and discovered that they were greater than the recommended limit. Has it always been this way?

She motioned for Carlos to follow her when she had obtained the samples. They made their way together to the contaminated water reservoir near the factory at the end of the alley.

“The h*ell,” Carlos said quietly.

Jenica’s gaze became more intense. Her intuition was correct.

Because the facility lacks a sufficient sewage infrastructure, waste and contaminated water are discharged into the river. The river water is used for bathing and cooking. Long-term exposure to mercury, even if just in trace amounts, will result in poisoning after a while. That is what happens to the residents of that community.

Jobert’s wife happened to be the first to be poisoned. And who is going to poison the governor’s wife?

Carlos was taken away from the river and into the woods by her. When she was certain that no one was looking, she put on the earpiece and called the assistant. “Still no news?”

“Just arrived in my inbox, Agent J. I will forward it to you.”

She then received the information she had requested.

Jobert’s first wife, as Carlos stated, was a simple woman. A barangay captain’s daughter from the opposite town who once visited Jobert’s residence. They fell in love and married after only a few weeks.

Jobert and his second wife met in the capital two years after he married his first wife. Jobert’s first wife died a few weeks later as a result of a terrible illness. Jobert and his second wife married six months later.

When she read the last report, Jenica’s eyes narrowed.

The governor met a woman in the capital two years after he and his second wife married. After a month, his second wife became ill. And the stuff following that is what she already knows.

“Looks like that governor is doing something amazing, huh?” Carlos exclaimed as he read the information on his phone.

Jenica let out a quiet laugh. “Something fishy is going on; looks like we’ll have to return to the mansion,” she smiled.

They went back to Jobert’s mansion together. They made certain that no hidden guards noticed.

Jenica awoke early the next day. She knotted her hair and exited the room while still wearing the mask. The maids welcomed her. She simply smiled and walked to the garden.

Many exotic flowers have been brought from other countries. She was just admiring at the flowers when the gardener who had been following Carlos the day before approached her. She’d never forget the man’s brief interaction with Jobert at breakfast that morning.

“Ma’am, are you looking for something?” he inquired, smiling.

Jenica turned to face the gardener. Except for the fact that he was wearing gloves, his appearance and presence were unremarkable. She laughed. “I just want to do a breathing exercise. The flowers here are beautiful. Did you plant them?”

The gardener let out a gentle laugh. “I did to some, and Sir Jobert to the rest.”

“Does Jobert know how to plant?” she wondered, plucking a bloom. “This, is he the one who planted it?”

When the gardener saw how she carelessly plucked the bloom, he grimaced, but she didn’t look at him. “How did you know, Ma’am?” he wondered.

Jenica’s lips broadened with a smile. “Only a few flowers have lush leaves.”

“That’s the way it is,” he explained before offering to show her around the garden. Jenica did not object. She said her goodbyes to the gardener as the sun rose in the east. “Should I accompany you to the mansion, ma’am?”

She shook her head. “I’m going straight to the bathroom to take a shower; just keep working,” she added without waiting for his response.

She promptly put on the earpiece and opened the mini-laptop when she returned to her room. She retrieved the photographs she had covertly taken with the little camera concealed in her mask. The photo of the plants beneath the luxuriant flowers was then compared to a database of toxic plants.

Everything matched.

Jenica let out a sigh. Jobert’s second wife was poisoned by a shrub in the garden. Jobert had put the luxuriant flowers to hide the toxic plants growing beneath them, she knew.

In other words, the vibrant flowers in the garden were really a ruse. Plants used to poison Jobert’s second wife were genuinely planted there. It was impossible for the latter not to be aware of it, so the governor was her first suspect.

Someone suddenly knocked on her chamber door. Jenica hurriedly stowed the items and opened the door. A maid summoned her for breakfast. She followed her. Carlos was already at the table, pleasantly conversing with Jobert.

She prepared for the operation after breakfast. Carlos scowled as he glanced at her. “Doctor, aren’t we leaving yet?” he said, observing that she had no intention of getting into the automobile that would transport them to the hospital.

She stared at the assistant, then at Jobert. “I want to drive the car,” she expressed her desire. Jobert had no choice but to give her what she requested.

“Did you find out anything, Agent J?” Carlos inquired warily after checking the automobile for tapped wires. Her lips had lost their smile.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

She gave a nod. “There’s a big possibility that Jobert poisoned his wife.”

“In that case, there’s a good chance Jobert murdered his first wife in order to marry his second wife now,” Carlos said, pulling out a photograph of Jobert with a woman in red dress. “This is the woman he is targeting now in the capital. She will definitely be his third wife if his second wife will pass away.”

Jenica took a look at the picture before turning the driving wheel. “She’s Yvette Antonete, Gia Antonete’s third cousin.” She said with a sneer. “Just how small the world is.”

Carlos smirked. “But if Jobert wanted to kill his wife, why did Jobert contact you? He should know that there is a high possibility that you can heal his wife.”

“It’s not his idea,” Jenica said with a wondering smile on her lips. “It was Antonete’s idea to keep Doctor Acinea in the country; Jobert used his wife as an excuse to bring me here, but he didn’t expect me to cure his wife so soon. But guess what I discovered yesterday while searching for his wife’s body?”

“What?” Carlos asked, looking at her.

“There is a trace of a poison needle inside his wife’s body. Just the information I require right now. It seems like Jobert is not as simple as we think .
