His Deceptress Wife

CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

“Good morning,” Hailey greeted me as I approached her while setting the table.

“My morning is always good if you’re the one I always see.” I kissed her and she kissed me back.

“Eat up and you might be late.”

“I still have time, I can even eat you.”

“Stop, you ate me last night.” She blushed when she said that. I pulled her closer to me so she hugged me. “Nix,”

“I won’t get tired of staring at you, Hailey. You’re the only one I want to look at for the rest of my life.”

“Nix.” She closed her eyes when I kissed her.

Her phone rang. She looked at me first and then picked up the call.

“Hello, —- Is that so, I’ll wait for you here, —- What’s the matter is Phoenix doesn’t want to sign.” Frowning at what she said. Who is she talking to? “Ah yes, he’s already here.”

“Who is that?” I asked.

“Wait a minute,” she covered the mouthpiece of the cellphone. “Attorney, he asked about the annulment.”

“Give me,” she handed me the cellphone.

“Yes, attorney?”

[“Good Morning, Phoenix, I just wanted to follow up with Hailey about the annulment.”]

“No annulment, attorney.”

[“I’m on my way, can you wait for me, we will talk.”] I look at Hailey.

“Sure,” I ended the call and give it back to her the phone.

“Phoenix?”

“No annulment, Hailey, I said that, no annulment. Tell him I am in grandpa’s office.”

I went straight to grandpa’s office. Just minutes later Hailey followed with the lawyer.

“Have a seat.” He sat opposite me. Hailey would have sat across from me but I called her. “Set here, beside me wife.” She nodded and approached me.

“I came to follow up on Hailey’s annulment request.”

“I already told you on the phone, no annulment.”

“I understand, Phoenix, I am not an enemy here. Hailey filed an annulment, so I came here to follow up on her decision. If ever she wants to withdraw, I can close the request in the office. If she’s willing to continue. The case is still open.”

I look at Hailey who is looking at me when the Attorney speaks. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

“I will assume that you already love your wife, Phoenix. But I think you already know her weakness as a woman. She is not capable of having a child. As a lawyer your grandfather trusted. I don’t want to break Don’s trust even he’s gone. I don’t want Hailey to get hurt one day.”

“Close the case,” I then looked at Hailey. “I won’t break up with you.”

“But, Nix, how about you?”

“What how am I?”

“How can you dream of having many children. Didn’t you say before that you want many children so they can play a lot? I remember that you said.”

“I don’t want to have children if you’re not the mother.”

“Phoenix,”

“I will return the assets that grandpa transferred to me. I will pay the 30million that I owe him. I will sign an agreement now, that whatever happened to my wife her money will be transferred to charity. I will not take any single penny from her.”

The attorney looked at me then looked at Hailey.

“Your husband loves you, Hailey. As a man, I feel it.”

“I just want him to be happy.” Then she looked at me. “I just want you to fulfill your dream of having many children.”

“You’re the one I want, the dream you’re saying is also useless if you’re not with me.”

“Phoenix.”

“Please, believe me, close the case. Sign it that you will withdraw. I will take care of you, I will protect you, not because that’s what grandpa wants. But because that’s what I want.”

“Hailey, listen to your husband.”

“Do you love me?” she asked while crying. “‘Didn’t you say you only have obligations. What if you’re just forced. What if —”

“I love you,” I cut him off.

“Phoenix,”

“I love you, I know I love you so I’m asking you. If you love me too please withdraw the annulment.”

“Even if we don’t have a baby.”

“Then you will be my baby. Let make each other a baby.”

“Phoenix,”

“Please, Hailey, I am begging you to give me a chance to prove that I needed you.”

“Ok,” she then looked at the attorney who was smiling at us. “Attorney, I’m withdrawing the case.”

The attorney took a paper that was signed by Hailey. I read it first and it’s stated that she is withdrawing the case. Case withdrawal to be closed and case number.

“This is the best love story I witness today, and wise decision, Hailey.” Then the attorney stood up. “I wished you happiness, and ow, if ever, you will decide to undergo mediation, I can refer you to the best doctor I know. Infertile has a treatment. The doctor can explain that to you.”

“Really?” we once question.

“Yes, but for now. Enjoy being a new couple. Looks like you’re just having your honeymooning now, have a good day.” When the attorney go out I held Hailey’s hand.

“Thank you for trusting me, promise, I will take care of you.”

“Phoenix, I love you so much.”

“I love you, Hailey, I don’t know how and when it started but I love you. I don’t want to lose you. You’re just mine, I’ll kill when someone else wants to take you from me.”

“You won’t be a criminal because I have no one else to love but you.”

“Hailey, I know we’ll arrange marriage. But this time, I want to ask you, formally. Not because of someone’s decision but because this is what I want.” I took the ring that I brought yesterday. I hope to give it tonight when I get home but I can’t wait.

“Hailey Paredes Sebastian, will you marry me again?”

“Huh?”

“It’s not as romantic as you read, watch, or dream, but I asked you from the bottom of my heart. Please marry me, again.”

“Yes,”

“Yes?”

“Yeah. I will Nix.”

“Hailey,”

“You don’t want it?”

“Of course I am.”

“Why aren’t you wearing the ring on my hand yet?”

“Ow, sorry,” I then put on the ring. “Thanks, Hailey, thank you for loving me and sorry for everything I did to you before.”

“You know, I wish I had fought you before so that you would have come to your senses.”

“Worth it for your fight. It was just one time but I woke up to the truth. Pretty much, I just didn’t like the part where you filed an annulment so I’m upset.”

She kissed me on my lips so I was shocked.

“What was that?”

“Paid because I filed an annulment, so you don’t get upset.”

“You never fail to amaze me, Hailey.”

“Yes, let’s eat first and you’ll going to work.” I stood up first to support her. But when she stood up she sat back down.

“Hey, are you ok?”

“I feel dizzy?”

“Huh why?”

“I don’t know, the other day I was experiencing this.” I noticed that too. Yesterday I heard her run to the bathroom and vomit.

“You want to go to the hospital?”

“I’m fine.” I also kinda noticed that he was pale. “I’m really like this when my period is near, I’m upset. But only now, I feel dizzy. Then it’s just surprising because my menstruation is irregular and it takes a long time to visit again. This time I guess it’s early.”

“I will bring you to the hospital.”

“Don’t worry, maybe because I’m just not used to air conditioning. You don’t want to turn off the air conditioning so I’m getting cold.”

“Ow, ok, later no aircon. Are you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?” She just shook her head.

“Let’s eat.”

“Ok,” even though I was worried about her I did nothing because I knew she would insist on what she wanted not to send to the hospital.
