His Eagle Eyes on Me

Shelly's message said that she and Hayden were heading toward Taronia, and Ivy jumped out of bed in shock.

"What should I do? They are definitely here to see Lucas. I have to tell Lucas about this," Ivy mumbled to herself and called Lucas.

Lucas answered right away.

"Lucas, my eldest brother is coming to Taronia!" she shouted.

Feeling anxious about her tone, Lucas asked, "Why is he coming here? To bring you home?"

"No! He's not here to bring me home. My sister-in-law said they are here on their honeymoon, but I know there's more to that. Why would anyone come here for their honeymoon?" Realization dawned on Lucas. "So they are here to meet me in person, then."

Ivy chuckled. "I'm sure that's what they want. What should I do? I'm really nervous right now."

Lucas maintained a calm tone. "What for?"

"Aren't you nervous at all?"

"Being nervous won't solve anything," Lucas said.

Ivy persisted, "But what if my older brother gives you a hard time? I have great respect for him, and..."

Lucas reassured her. "Don't worry for now. We'll see what happens when your brother arrives."

Ivy agreed, "All right... I suppose that's all we can do."

"When is he arriving?"

"Have they booked a hotel?"

"I'm not sure. If they haven't, they can stay in the same hotel as me. You don't need to worry about that."

Lucas considered her words and realized there was not much he could do now.

"Lucas, if my brother says

something unpleasant to you, could

you try not to get angry? My brother tends to be very straightforward," Ivy added.

Lucas hesitated. "We'll see how it goes. I can't promise anything right now. If we end up arguing, I might not be able to control my emotions."

Ivy reassured him. "Well, if my

sister-in-law is with him, my brother probably won't go too far. If he gets too harsh, my sister-in-law will surely speak up. Anyway, let's get some sleep now."

"Sure."

After hanging up, Lucas opened his calendar to check the day after tomorrow's date to find that it was a Friday.

He then dialed Caspian's number.

Caspian's voice came lazily through the phone. "Lucas, what's up? I just finished showering."

"I have something to do this Friday," Lucas said.

"What's going on?"

"I'm meeting Ivy's older brother this Friday," Lucas explained.

Caspian paused momentarily, then exclaimed, "You mean Hayden Tate is coming here?"

Lucas confirmed, "Yes."

Caspian exclaimed, "Holy cow! Why is he coming?"

"I don't know. Stop shouting," Lucas said.

Caspian continued, "Damn, damn, damn! What's he coming for?"

"I won't go to the office on Friday. If anything comes up, you'll have to handle it," Lucas said.

"Got it! Lucas, do you think you can handle Hayden Tate on your own? Do you really not want me to meet him with you? After all, I'm practically family..." Caspian said. en.swhovels.net
