Chapter 70

They were inside his car. He would drop her off at his unit before he'd go to his main office. He told her

she didn't have to work today.

She couldn't stop thinking about what he said after they had a quickie.

"B-But why did you do that?" tanong niya sa nobyo.

His eyes like slits, he looked at her and said, " I will do anything to keep you. I told you before that

nothing or no one can take you away from me. What's mine is just mine. "

He didn't even care about the huge sum of money he lost. Tyler got a really expensive sports car.She

shook her head to try to completely forget

"I will be back soon. Do you want to dine out later? " She heard him asked.

She turned to him. He's back to being sweet. Getting used to his mood swings was a little hard.

"Honey?" His forehead creased.

She sighed heavily and nodded. "Tomorrow I will go to the office with you, okay? "

"Sure. If that's what you want." he replied with a sexy grin. "But you don't need to work honey. I can

provide everything for you." His eyes went back to the road.

"I am used to fending for myself."

He took her hand and put it on his lap." The situation is different now. I am your man and you are my

woman. I want to take care of you. Just tell me what you want honey okay? "

" I don't want you showering me with gifts. I won't feel comfortable if you do that.." she said while her

eyes were outside the window.

"I will give you gifts if I want to .Throw them if you don't want them!" He said sounding a bit annoyed.

Stacey just shook her head. "Honey, you shouldn't splurge on things we don't need. That's a waste of

money.

" I worked very hard to be where I am now without my family's help so If I want to spend money on

what I want, I can and I will. You are my woman and it makes me happy when I buy things for you. I am

well-off so I can afford it. Don't worry, I am sponsoring certain charities honey . I don't only spend

money for myself. I strongly believe in sharing my blessings." he explained.

She just stared at him in awe. Her boyfriend was really extraordinary. His personality was a bit

confusing but from time to time, her discoveries about him made her admire him more. Probably many

women were after him because he was awesome in so many ways. She was really lucky he chose her

to be his first girlfriend. The least she could do is try harder to stand his possessiveness and jealousy.

She also had to get used to his generosity. She wished herself good luck.

She thought that he was just dropping her off but to her suprised, he went up to his unit with her. He

even reminded her again to take a nap because they didn't have much sleep last night. He said he'd be

away for around two hours. She stifled a sigh when he finally left again. She was not accustomed to

being cared for and worried about. Nick was doing both and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not.

She took a quick shower then decided to check her cell phone. She was hoping Deick messaged or

had a missed call but there was nothing. Instead the missed call was from Tyler.

Frowning, she dialed his number. She made a note to delete her call history. Nick would go berserk if

he saw it. After four rings, he took the call.

"Stacey? "

"You called me?" she asked and he heaved a sigh.

"I wanted to talk to you at the auto shop."

She also released a sigh. She wasn't angry with him for choosing an expensive car over her. She

thought of him as a friend from the start. She told him repeatedly that what he felt towards her wasn't

reciprocated. It was him who wanted to continue wooing her.

"I guess you are not with him so you were able to call me." came his sad voice.

She chose not to comment on that. "You shouldn't call me."

"Please don't ever think that I lied to you from the beginning. I really have strong feelings for you. I

continued to pursue you because I wanted you to be my girl but..." he sounds emotional.

She sat down on the edge of the bed and massaged her right temple. She is beginning to have a

headache. Maybe Nick is right,she should take a nap.

"Look Tyler, you don't have to explain anything. It's okay."

"No it's not. You have to listen to me. Your...boyfriend is a very dangerous man. I was forced to choose

the car. Either I take the car or he will do everything to ruin me. He is very powerful and influential. He

said that I better take something expensive from him in exchange for my wooing you. So you see

Stacey.. I didn't have a choice." he revealed.

She put her hand on her mouth. She is shocked.

"When I saw you again today , I realized I couldn't do it. You are more important but he got really angry.

He said that we made a deal. And if I break it..." his voice faded.

"Nick will never do such a thing.." she said but she doubted if she fully believed that. She thought about

what he said, no one can take her away from him and he could do very bad things to anyone who

would attempt to do that.

"He can and he will because he is obsessed with you." Tyler said.

Obsessed with you...obsessed with you.....

What Tyler said kept on echoing in her mind. Could it be true?

She stood up. No! Tyler is probably just fabricating stories. He is washing his hands of the deal he

made with Nick.

But why would he do something like that? Does he want Nick and her to break up? Maybe he couldn't

accept the fact that she said yes to Nick after only knowing him for a short time while he had pursued

her for several months but to no avail.

She took some pain reliever from her bag and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She was

ready to go to the bedroom when something made her turn to Nick's small office.

Should she dare go inside?

Chewing the inside of her cheek, she put the glass down on the center table in the small living room. A

feeling of curiosity started to surface. Like a housebreaker, she slowly turned the knob. It wasn't locked.

With a heavy sigh, she opened it and peeked inside. She will look inside. Nick didn't say that she was

off-limits anyway.

It was average- sized. There were two seats on the left side of the room. There was a coffee table too.

His office table and chair were at the center. Nick doesn't seem to prefer plush offices and units. He is

more into high-end cars. She move forward. There was a laptop on the table. She tapped a key and

her eyes opened wide when she saw her face on his screen.

He cropped one of her photos from the pictures of Not Eye Candy magazine. She couldn't contain a

smile. She wondered if he used her photo as his phone's lock screen too. With a happy and giddy

feeling, she opened the left drawer of his table. There were some pens and documents. She closed it

and opened the center drawer. Her forehead creased when she saw 4 copies of Not Eye Candy where

she was the cover. They were neatly arranged in a row. The one on top had her face on the cover. The

others were also open but they are showing different pages. The 2nd one is a close-up photo of her.

On the third magazine, she was leaning against a black wall while she was in a pair of lacy white

lingerie. The last one was a picture of her lying on a bed.

Her hand went to her throat. Was Tyler telling the truth? Should she worry if Nick was really obsessed

She lifted one of the magazines then she saw a key under it. She picked it up then she realized that it's

a motorcycle's key. She frowned.. . she thought of Derick...
