Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Lauren couldn’t stand this anymore, so she turned slightly sideways to avoid Charlie.
Seeing her movements, Charlie was a little upset, but he quickly calmed and looked as usual. He let go
of Lauren and then stepped back.
Then Lauren was a little more relaxed.
“Maybe I have a common face, so you think I am familiar,” then Lauren picked Leo up in her arms. With
Leo in the middle, Lauren thought she would be more relaxed.
Lauren took a look at Charlie and she thought he was quite different from what the rumors said.
It was said that he liked to wear black, but today he wore a pink shirt. In fact, Lauren always had no
resistance to pink color, especially for men.
She thought the pink color would neutralize the tough air of men, but this pink shirt didn’t neutralize the
coldness of Charlie but made him looked more powerful.
“Common face?” Charlie sneered and touched the pink diamond cuffs, saying, “I don’t think so.
Outstanding, I would say.” Is he praising me? Lauren thought. She smiled and said to Charlie. “Thank
you.”
“I think I should thank you,” Charlie put his hands in his pockets, and squinted at Lauren, saying, “Miss
Bennett, I really thank you for agreeing to Leo’s invitation to come even if you don’t like children.”
When did she say to him that she didn’t like children? Lauren now felt that Charlie was a little strange.
It seemed that he enjoyed sneering at her.
She was not a person without temper, and she just cared about Leo’s feeling. She thought Charlie was
a little too far. “What are you saying? I love children,” Lauren said in an unfriendly voice.
“Really?” Charlie laughed lowly and then looked at Lauren with sharp eyes saying, “Do people who
abandon their husbands and children like children?”
What the hell was he talking about? Lauren lost her temper and sneered, “I have no idea what you are
talking about. You can’t be angry with me for no reason. I was just invited by Leo, and if you don’t like
me, I will leave now.”
Charlie carefully looked at Lauren’s expression and frowned. He was quite confused why Lauren didn’t
know him.
Leo put his arms around Lauren’s neck and he didn’t know why his father and Lauren were arguing.
Charlie was his father and he liked Lauren very much so Leo didn’t know whom he should support. He
buried his face on Lauren’s neck.
Lauren suddenly felt that her neck was a little wet, and immediately realized that Leo was crying
because Charlie and her. She suddenly felt sorry and held Leo more tightly. She directly ignored
Charlie and walked into the room.
her.
Charlie stood in place and did not move.He was staring at Lauren’s back and fell into deep thought.
Daphne was indoors, not knowing what happened. When she saw Lauren holding Leo in her arms,
Daphne immediately greeted
Leo raised her head and revealed a little face with tears.
Daphne was surprised.
Lauren was sitting on the sofa, holding Leo, and Daphne took a tissue for him.
Leo turned his head to Lauren, and said, “I want Lauren to wipe tears for me.”
Lauren nodded the tip of his nose and wiped his tears.
Leo obediently raised his little face and remained motionless.
Daphne stood aside, looking at this scene in surprise. She couldn’t believe that Leo liked this woman
so much.
In the past, Mr. Frank’s mother brought back so many women, hoping that one of them could become
Mr. Frank’s wife to take care of Leo. Those women were gentle, or cute, or knowledgeable, and so on.
But Leo liked none of them. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
But this lady in front of her, could make Leo so dependent on her after the first meeting.
Lauren wiped his face, tender and little, and looked at his red eyes, regretting her previous argument
with Charlie. She thought
she should control her emotions.
She just met Leo twice and she already liked him so much.
Leo’s face was soft and slippery, and Lauren kept touching it.
Leo looked up and asked Lauren, “Do you want to see my paintings?”
