happened to meet each other. Lauren walked to them, nodded, and then turned her eyes to Mr.
Bennett senior. She called him Grandpa, which made everyone present believe that she was the lost
daughter of Mr. Bennett junior.
All the bad speculations, the malicious talk, and the mocking gazes stopped at this moment. People
were quite shocked when
they saw that Lauren was so beautiful.
She was the true lady. With light makeup and a red dress, she surprised the audience without saying a
word. She was shining all
over her body at this moment.
Lauren’s timely arrival made every one of the Bennett family breathe a sigh of relief.
Mr. Bennett senior looked at his granddaughter worriedly and asked, “Where have you been?”
Lauren smiled at him and replied, “My friend sent me over.”
Mr. Bennett nodded and he didn’t say anything. He was not going to talk about this at the banquet,
which was a little inappropriate. He led Lauren to the front and announced her identity in public. He
also offered to give her part of his shares in Bennett’s company in advance.
Mr. Bennett senior’s words made the crowd shocked.
Among his grandchildren, only the eldest son of Mr. Bennett junior Jeffery had shares in his hands, and
the rest, such as Sally and Darren, had none. Now, Lauren, who had just come back to the family,
could get the share.
The reporters and other business partners of the Bennett family started to realize how important Lauren
was in the Bennett family. Even though Lauren had been lost for the past 18 years, she was the one
who got benefits from Mr. Bennett senior.
The audience began to shift their eyesight to Sally.
Sensing that everyone was looking at her with bad intentions, Sally suppressed her embarrassment
and pretended that she didn’t care about this at all. She told herself to be calm and she didn’t allow
people to look down at her. She believed that one day everyone would know that she was the real lady
of the Bennett family
After the banquet, it was time for dance and Lauren did the opening dance. But with whom Lauren was
going to dance? Mr. Bennett’s eyesight fell on Sandy.
Sally, who had been paying attention to Mr. Bennett senior and Lauren, immediately noticed that he
was going to choose Sandy to dance with Lauren.
Sally clenched her fists because she wouldn’t want that to happen. If Lauren did the opening dance
with Sandy, it was like telling everyone that Mr. Bennett senior wanted Lauren to marry into the Effie
family instead of her.
She could give up everything, but she couldn’t let Sandy and Lauren be together. Thinking of this, she
said to Sandy, “Is your friend available for the opening dance with Lauren?”
Sally was implying that she didn’t want Sandy to dance with Lauren and Mr. Bennett senior glanced at
her with displeasure. Sandy examined Lauren with a playful expression, who was standing next to Mr.
Bennett senior, and said, “My friend is not
available now. But,” Sandy looked into Lauren’s eyes and continued, “Would you like to dance with me,
Lauren?”
Sally’s face soon turned pale.
