Howling Hearts

Chapter 54

"W... What are you talking about", She said. I looked at the elder who was trying to read me.

"I can read minds and stop time. May I read hers so that we can get to the bottom of this without the back and forth bickering?" The elder nodded his head slowly unsure of his answer.

"Good, since I will need a witness to make sure no one doubts what I see. Elder, will you please hold my hand and I will lead you on this journey"

He nodded his head again slowly, still very unsure of what was about to happen. I grabbed his hand and went to place my hand on her cheek again. She stepped back with nervousness lining her body language. "That's impossible. No one can do that" she spat

"Riley, I can do that, but if there is nothing to hide from your side, then we can see the truth that you claim you are speaking. If not and you refuse, we will all know the answer and continue with the ceremony. The choice is yours".

I said in a cold and anoyyed tone. She stood still for a few minutes before she hesitantly took a step forward. When I placed my hand on her cheek, To access the complete chapters for free, visit Job nib, com. I was instantly within the white walls. I walked passed all the gold ones. I saw two red doors across from one another.

The one on my right was a bright red whilst the one on my left was a dull dark red. I placed my hand onto the bright red one and saw I**t and happiness.

It also had a feel of her teenage years. One I so badly wanted to go into and see what went on.

I could tell Lucian was within the memory but I just knew he wasn't the father of this child and the timelines didn't match up.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

I then turned to the dark red door and placed my hand on the knob. It was also filled with I**t but somehow also piled with regret. This memory was recent and I knew who ever laid behind this door was the true father.

When I tried to open the door, it was stuck and refused to open. I knew Riley was trying to hide this memory from us. I pushed harder and it still didn't budge so eventually decided to kick the door.

The lock broke. Leaving me with the possibility of entering without her interference.

When I opened the door, I saw two people under the sheets. It was very obvious that they were busy. Moans filled the room.

As much as I wanted to turn around and leave because I felt like I was intruding, I knew I couldn't do that. My whole life from here on out depends on what the truth is.

So I buried my feelings and I stepped forward. I could see a muscular man was on top with his back slightly covered by the sheet. I became fearful that this man might be Lucian.

I don't know what I would do if it was. How would I cope with another betrayal?

I stepped closer slowly before I ripped the sheets off. I saw Aiden and Riley in bed. Riley quickly covered herself up.

"It's not what it looks like". Since time hadn't stopped and Riley was actually dreaming about whatever door I opened, she would think in terms of how she felt now.

I quickly stormed out of the room and out of her mind. When I came to, I blinked my eyes a couple of times. When I stopped, I saw Lucian having a nervous look on his face. I knew he had done something with Riley in the past, but it was the past. It wouldn't bother me as long as it stayed in the past. "It's not what it looks like" Riley shouted.

"S..She planted that in my head I would never sleep with him". I looked at her with pity in my eyes.

Aiden wasn't going to be a great father. He didn't seem like the committed type and the type to stay around in this situation.

It became clear to me that she did all this hoping to win Lucian back so that she didn't lose her image and drag her parents along with her.

"Riley, I can't do that. I can only see your memories further than that. I can't do anything else" Tears started to stream down her face and she ran away feeling hopeless and defeated.

"Well then, all is handled. I guess", The elder said. "Will we continue with the ceremony?" I nodded and a smile crept on Lucian's face, replacing the guilt that lined it moments before.

"Wait, what about me?" Aiden said. Our heads all shot at him. "And what would be your just cause?" The elder asked.

"I want Scarlet and I won't let him take her." I scoffed at his reply. "Sir, that's not a just cause" The elder said.

"Fine I'm the son of Zeus and I command you to not let this ceremony commence any further."
