Chapter 37

Nalzen

Will I die at the hands of Nica? I silently ask myself. But no matter what happens I will still fight. I plan to dodge her hand when she will come near me.

And she is willing to kill me!

“Nalzen Villarreal. I’m coming!” And she runs towards me.

I prepared myself and am waiting for her attack. But Nathan appears and snatches the knife at Nica’s hand. She holds her hand and Nica is very angry.

“Let me go! You are an idiot Nathan. Why did you let Aaron have Nalzen? Hahaha!” Nica laughs crazily.

I guess she needs treatment! Her brain is not functioning well, I think.

Nathan pushes Nica and she hits the floor. But I didn’t hear her crying.

But she is laughing instead!

“Are you okay?” Nathan asks worriedly.

“Yes, I’am thanks.” But I know that my body is already shaking in fear. My knees suddenly become weak.

“Hahaha! Don’t you think that I only have one knife? Sorry, but you are wrong. I got another one!” Then she showed us the sharp knife.

She’s crazy! How many knives that she has?

She runs towards us with her eyes full of anger and revenge. She is pointing the knife at me but Nathan blocks it with his hand.

And it bleeds!

Nathan is trying to pull the knife from Nica’s hand but she squeezes Nathan’s wound that he shouted in pain and lets go of the knife.

“Now, there are no more obstacles. I can kill you!” She hit me and I block her hand but she is so strong and pushed the knife aiming at my heart.

I manage to push her but she doesn’t fall and hit my arm. I can feel the pain and it hurts!

And she’s coming again. I run away from her and Nathan grabs her trying to get the knife.

But Nica is like a beast and she’s very strong. She pushes Nathan and hit his arm and it bleeds. The wound seems deep.

I go back, to help Nathan. When I bump Aaron while running.

“Help Nathan!” I told him and he runs immediately.

Aaron is strong and grabs the knife while pinning Nica to the wall. And she shouted in pain.

I run to Nathan as his arm is bleeding heavily.

“Did someone call the Police?” Aaron ask.

“No, I panic and don’t know what to do! And look at Nathan! He is bleeding. I think his wound is deep.” I answered starting to panic again.

“Let me go! I will kill her.” Nica looks at me with so much hate in her eyes.

“Wifey, calm down. Don’t move too much because you are bleeding too. Get your phone and call the police okay?” Aaron said calmly.

“I’m okay Dear, Don’t worry.”Nathan still manages to speak softly. I know that he lost too much blood and is about to faint. But he is still trying to hang on.

I run to my bag that was thrown away and looked for my phone. My hands are trembling when I dial the Police’s number.

And I’m glad that I successfully did it!

Aaron did not allow Nica to escape until the police arrive.

An ambulance from the nearest hospital responded and Nathan was in there. While I and Aaron followed Nica to the Police station for questioning.

Uncle Alberto arrives and begs me not to file a case. But my decision is final, she needs to be punished for what she did. If I will tolerate her, she will always come back and will try to kill me again.

She is now inside the jail. The right place for her. I wanted to see her for the last time. I still don’t understand her anger.

Why?

Why she is so jealous and angry with me? I treated her as my sister. And it hurts on my part while she’s crazy about killing me.

And there she is. Looking from afar with her innocent look. Who would have thought that she’s got a killer mind?

“What are you doing here? bitch!” She looks at me with so much rage.

“Just checking if you’re okay.  Hope you will change and start a new life after this.”I seriously said but she just laugh at me.

“If I will be given a chance to escape. I will still kill you again!” She said hatefully.

I think there’s no chance for her. She’s doomed and blinded with hatred and jealousy.

“But, why? I treated you as my sister, as my best friend!” I felt like crying. But she is deaf and insensitive. A hopeless person. Nica is intelligent and bubbly. It’s unexpected of her to become like this.

“No, You treated me like your maid, Your Dog! You never treated me as a friend.” She answered and her eyes is already red. She’s going to cry but she’s fighting.

“If I did that to you, without me knowing. Then, I’m sorry. You know, I miss my best friend…” That’s all I can say before I left her.

Tears fall but I wipe them right away. This is the end of our friendship. I will only remember the happy and kind Nica Santillan

“Are you okay?” Aaron asks while hugging me. And I cry on his shoulder. I can’t speak a single word at the moment.

“Let’s go to the hospital your wound needs to be treated and let’s visit Nathan after.” He said.

I just nod my head as an answer. And we slowly walked away.

We ask for Nathan’s private room.

And there he is lying in the hospital bed with a bandage on his hand and arm.

Somehow, I felt guilty!

“I’m sorry Nathan. I didn’t see it coming.  I was surprised by Nica’s action that she is eager to kill me no matter what. And thank you for saving me.” I said heartily.

“It’s okay. It’s just happened that I’am passing by. And thanks to God that I’am there and able to save you. So don’t feel sorry. I’am always willing to save you no matter what situation it may be.” Nathan cheer me up. He still knows when I felt sad.

“Is everything okay? Do you need something like food or fruits? I will buy it for you.” I offer.

And Nathan laughed.

“No, thank you, Dear. But your visit is already enough.” He said smiling.

But I can see Aaron’s jealous reaction when Nathan still calls me Dear.

“Did you file a case to Nica?” Aaron chimed in.

Nathan raised his eyebrow.

“Of course, my case is different with Nalzen and I will make sure that she will never get out of jail.” He answered gritting his teeth.

He is still angry and I understand him but I pity Nica. She will hate me more because of this.

“Then, that’s good. I will help you with that.” Aaron smirk.

While listening to them. I can only do nothing.

I’m glad that our interview turns out good despite Nica’s evil plan. And I’am safe and Nathan didn’t die.

My head is already aching because of what happened.

In just one day my life changed. I become more mature.

I thought that I’m gonna die today. I’m so afraid!

“Are you okay?” Aaron asks worriedly.

“Yeah, just a little headache,” I answered massaging my head.

“Let’s go home then.” He holds my hand and pulls me towards the door but I stop.

“No, we can’t leave Nathan alone in here.” I insisted. And jealousy flickered in Aaron’s eyes

“Is that so? We can hire a private nurse.” He suggested.

“It’s not what I meant. Let’s wait for her secretary okay? Then after that, we will leave. You can buy me a headache medicine at the pharmacy.” I explained.

“Oh, I’m sorry. You two can leave. I’m okay in here.” Nathan inserted.

“Okay, wait for me and I’ll buy you some medicine.” Aaron agreed and stormed out of the door.

“I’m sorry Nathan.” I apologize.

“No, It’s me who needs to apologize. I’m sorry. But seriously, you two can leave. A private nurse is okay to watch me.” He answered.

Then we heard a knock. It’s her secretary. Bringing his things and needs.

“You can go home,” Nathan said smiling.

“Later, I will wait for Aaron, “I answered.

His Secretary peels some fruits for him. Then suddenly someone forcefully open and slammed the door. And it causes a loud thud.

“Honey! What happened?” A pregnant woman shouted.

And I’am shocked when I looked at who is standing at the door.

It’s her! The pregnant woman at the restaurant and our office last time. What is she doing in here? And who is she calling honey? I asked myself.

She runs toward Nathan and kisses him. Nathan looks at me shyly.

So, this is the reason. I’m glad that he broke up with me! And now I’m free.

“Give me that!” She snatched the fruits from Nathan’s Secretary.

She got an attitude huh.

“Here, Honey. I will feed you, open your mouth.” She said smiling.

“I can eat on my own. And please behave yourself. I have a visitor,” Nathan said.

She looks at Nathan’s secretary disgustingly.

What a brat!

She still did not notice me. And I don’t care about that. When Aaron arrives we will go home immediately.

“Her? By the way. You can go home, Go!” She said while waving her hand.

Nathan’s secretary runs towards the door. Without looking back. And that’s the moment she finally notice me.

“And who is she?” She asked Nathan while raising her eyebrows.

As If I care.

“She’s my friend,” Nathan answers shortly.

“Really!” She laughs and stands up walking toward me.

“Hello, I’am Beatrice Madrigal!” She introduces herself using Nathan’s surname.

And I accepted her handshake out of respect.

“Nice meeting you, I’am Nalzen Villareal,” I answered smiling.

And her face turns red and her eyes become big!

Her facial expression is of total rage. She is like a bull ready to attack.

“It’s you?” She asks angrily. Then let go of my hand.

And I don’t know how to respond. Does she know me? Yeah, we’ve been seeing it recently I guess.

“Yes, it’s me at the restaurant remember? And in my office.” I answer.

“I’m not asking about that!” She shouted.

“What are you doing? You better go home if you will not respect my visitor.” Nathan scolded her angrily.

She didn’t mind Nathan and walk toward me.

“You are Nathan’s mistress!” Then she slaps me hard! And I’am surprised. I didn’t see it coming.
