Chapter 1010: Has She Received Any Closure?

Though Yanis and Ivan had known each other for many years, their families didn't have much

interaction. When Ryan parked the car in front of the Thompson family's house, he felt a mix of

emotions.

He sat in the car for a while before finally getting out, asking his secretary to bring the gifts along. After

knocking on the Thompson family's door, Ryan felt nervous.

Someone quickly answered the door, and when Ryan saw the person, he hesitated for a moment

before realizing that, besides Yanis, there was also a younger brother in the Thompson family.

"Antonio, right? Who are you looking for?" Antonio was not particularly friendly towards Ryan.

Ryan felt somewhat uneasy and said, "I am Ivan's father. I'd like to talk to your parents."

Antonio frowned and asked, "Is it about my sister?"

Ryan paused for a moment, then nodded and said, "Yes."

"If you came to make my sister go back and acknowledge someone, then it's pointless. She belongs to

the Thompson family," Antonio replied.

Just as Antonio was about to close the door, Olivia's voice came from inside, "Antonio, who is it?"

Antonio was about to make up an excuse, but Ryan spoke up first, "Mrs. Thompson, I'd like to have a

talk with you."

Upon hearing Ryan's voice, Olivia's expression changed slightly, "What do you want?"

Ryan looked at Olivia and said, "I'm here to discuss Yanis' situation with you."

After Ryan's words, Olivia immediately responded, "If you want Yanis to go back and acknowledge

someone, you should talk to her. Talking to us won't help. We respect Yanis' choices."

After Olivia finished speaking, she turned around and walked back inside the house. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.

Antonio looked at Ryan for a moment before turning to leave to find Martin.

Ryan stood at the door and took a deep breath. He then gestured to his secretary, and both of them

entered the house.

After Antonio walked out of the Thompson Residence's gate, he hesitated for a moment and then

called Yanis.

Yanis answered the phone quickly, "Antonio?"

"Big Sis, Ivan's dad is at our house. He said it's about you and that someone," Antonio straightforwardly

informed her.

Upon hearing Antonio's words, Yanis' expression changed slightly, "Is he alone in the Thompson

family? Is there anyone else with him?"

Antonio replied, "There's another person with him, who looks like his driver."

After hearing Antonio's reply, Yanis fell silent for a few seconds before saying, "I see. I'll come over in a

bit."

Antonio responded with an "okay" before hanging up the phone.

Recently, Martin had set up a materials factory nearby. This time, he seemed more serious about his

work and carefully considered every detail. He also managed to get the old workers back to the factory.

"Antonio, here?" greeted Uncle Edmund.

Antonio greeted the people along the way until he reached the innermost part of the factory but didn't

see Martin.

"Uncle Bart, where's my dad?" Antonio turned to a middle-aged man who was moving some items.

"Your dad is inside fixing a machine. Go inside and find him," Uncle Bart replied.

Antonio nodded and said, "Okay, Uncle Bart, take it easy with the heavy lifting."

"Sure thing," Uncle Bart replied.

Antonio walked inside and found Martin working on a machine, sweating profusely.

Martin looked more like an honest worker now than the careless person he used to be. Although he

had set up the factory before, he would rarely visit it, sometimes going ten days or half a month without

showing up.

"Antonio? What brings you here?" When Martin saw Antonio, he came out from the machine and

looked at him.

Antonio offered his hand to Martin, letting him come out from the machine. "Why are you here? Is

something wrong? Are those troublemakers bothering us again?"

Antonio shook his head and handed a towel to Martin. "Ivan's dad came to our house."

When Martin heard Antonio's words, he froze for a moment, wiping his face with the towel before

asking, "What did you say?"

Antonio explained the situation to Martin in detail.

After listening to Antonio, Martin fell silent for a moment, then wiped his face clean and took off his

gloves. "Wait for me here. I'll change my clothes and go back with you."

Antonio replied, "Sure."

Martin quickly changed his clothes and came out. He looked at Antonio, who was playing with his

phone, and called out, "Let's go."

Antonio got up and whispered, "Dad, if... if they really want my sister to acknowledge her, would you

agree?"

Martin glanced at Antonio's face and said quietly, "This matter is not for you or me to decide. The final

decision lies with Yanis, do you understand?"

"But she abandoned my sister when she was born and left her to you. Now that she's dying, she wants

to acknowledge her. Has she not received any closure?" Antonio's words were heavy.

Martin stopped and looked at Antonio, "No matter what, she's still your sister's mother. Don't say such

things in front of her."

"I understand," Antonio replied.

In the Thompson family's living room, Olivia sat calmly on the sofa, listening to Ryan's words. She then

responded, "Our relationship with Yanis has not been good over the years. The final decision about her

life lies with her. Coming to us won't make a difference."

Ryan knew that Olivia's relationship with Yanis and Martin had not been very good in recent years.

However, even if things were difficult, Yanis had grown up with them. Recently, Ryan was aware that

there had been some improvement in the relationship between Yanis, Olivia, and Martin.

That's why he had come to the Thompson family - he hoped that Martin and Olivia could persuade

Yanis.
