Chapter 1027: My Family Won't Allow Anyone to Tear Apart!
Lisa looked at the Old Mr. Lawrence and said, "The Old Mr. Lawrence, do you really think I'm the
clueless little girl from back then? You can drive me away as much as you want, but if I let him come
now, will my son and I still have a chance to see each other in the future?"
The Old Mr. Lawrence did have plans to do a paternity test and find a way to send Lisa away while
keeping the child.
But he didn't expect Lisa to guess it.
A hint of embarrassment flashed across the Old Mr. Lawrence's face.
"You can send someone to meet with me. Get what you need for the test from him. As for him, he can't
come over here," Lisa continued.
With that said, Lisa paused for a moment and then added, "I won't hide anything from you. I came back
for money, and I'm not interested in anything else."
As if intentionally, Lisa glanced at Dylan's face and said, "I have no intention towards Dylan or Zane."
Rachel was furious, but she restrained herself from causing a scene in Zane's place. However, Lisa's
sudden appearance had also made it difficult for Rachel and Dylan to continue as before.
Zane, who had been standing silently beside Yanis, spoke up at the right moment, "I'll have Albi go with
her."
When Rachel heard Zane's words, she looked at him and asked, "Zane, do you really believe what
she's saying?"
Naturally, Zane didn't believe Lisa. However, he understood the Old Mr. Lawrence's thoughts. If the
child was truly Dylan's, the Old Mr. Lawrence would have his own motives to consider, wanting to
lighten the pressure on Yanis.
Rachel hesitated for a while. She was about to say something, but Phoebe spoke up first, "I'll go with
her!" Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
Phoebe took a few steps forward and faced Lisa. "I'll go with you."
Lisa looked at Phoebe casually and nodded, "Sure, come with me."
Phoebe turned to Rachel and said softly, "Mom, you and Dad should go back with Grandpa first. My
sister-in-law and my brother have had a long day and are tired. Don't disturb their rest here."
Rachel nodded, "I understand."
Lisa didn't linger and took Phoebe to find the child for the paternity test.
After Lisa and Phoebe left, the Old Mr. Lawrence looked at Dylan and then turned to Zane and Yanis.
He said in a low voice, "You should rest early. We'll go back first."
Yanis stepped forward and looked at the Old Mr. Lawrence, saying softly, "Grandpa, you can finish
dinner here before going back. Auntie is about to prepare it."
Zane also chimed in, "I'll take you back later."
Zane and Yanis both offered, showing no hurry to leave.
Rachel, still shaken by Lisa's words, didn't respond even when Yanis called her several times.
"Aunt Rachel?" Yanis gently tapped Rachel's shoulder with her hand.
Rachel finally came back to her senses and turned to look at Yanis. "Yanis, what's wrong?"
Yanis looked at Rachel, feeling uneasy. "Do you want some water?"
Rachel glanced at the Old Mr. Lawrence, Dylan, and Zane sitting in the living room, then nodded. "Let's
sit over there for a while."
Yanis agreed, "Okay."
After getting up, Yanis went to pour a glass of water for Rachel. She then followed Rachel to the small
living room on the side.
"Aunt Rachel, have some water first," Yanis handed the glass of water to Rachel.
Rachel took the water from Yanis's hand, her expression dazed, and she seemed dispirited.
In Yanis's memory, Rachel had always been a strong person, but seeing her like this, it was heart-
wrenching.
Yanis wanted to say something to comfort her, but without experiencing such a thing personally, she
couldn't truly understand the feelings involved.
Even if she just imagined it, Yanis felt that it would be too much to bear.
Even back when Zane and Neve had nothing going on between them, just being close made Yanis
suffocated. Now, knowing that Dylan had been involved with Lisa and had a child, it must have been
like getting stabbed by a knife for Rachel.
So, Yanis could only remain silent.
After sitting in silence for a while, Rachel finally spoke, "Yanis, keep Zane away from that woman. It's
good for both you and him."
Yanis replied, "Okay."
Rachel held the glass of water, looking somewhat absent-minded, and said, "I used to think she was
pitiful and treated her very well. But I never expected her to do such a thing in the end."
Rachel kept talking to Yanis about some previous events, which were not much different from what
Zane had said.
After Rachel finished speaking, Yanis asked, "Aunt Rachel, if, I mean, if the child is really Uncle
Dylan's, what are you going to do?"
Rachel fell silent for a long time after hearing Yanis's question. She finally said, "That child is ultimately
Uncle Dylan's, and I don't have the final say. But my child, my family, I won't allow anyone to tear them
apart."
Yanis had thought that with Rachel's personality and temper, once this matter was confirmed, there
would be a gap between Rachel and Dylan. But Yanis didn't expect Rachel to be so rational.
But Rachel's rationality was a good thing. At least, it wouldn't result in a chaotic situation.
Yanis had experienced too much and now only wanted to see everyone getting along peacefully. She
didn't want to plan and calculate against anyone anymore.
Back in the living room, after a short silence, the Old Mr. Lawrence looked at Dylan and asked in a low
voice, "What do you think?"
Dylan paused for a while before responding, "Deal with
it as it comes."
"The way Rachel is feeling, don't you owe her an explanation?" the Old Mr. Lawrence looked at Dylan
and said, "Rachel has been part of the Lawrence family for more than twenty years. When you were
involved with Lisa before, you had already hurt her. Now that Lisa has returned to cause trouble again,
no matter what's on your mind, my Lawrence family's daughter-in-law can only be her alone."
The Old Mr. Lawrence's meaning was clear.
Dylan naturally understood it. "I know, I won't do that."
"If the child is indeed yours, are you planning to acknowledge him?" the Old Mr. Lawrence asked.
Dylan met the Old Mr. Lawrence's gaze and said softly, "Aren't you eager to have a grandson?"
