Chapter 1105: When Morning Sickness Takes Over

Chapter 1105: When Morning Sickness Takes Over

As for what happened between Jim and Nelson later, Sandy didn't know, nor did she deliberately

inquire. After the engagement ceremony, Sandy suddenly began experiencing morning sickness.

It was a living nightmare, day after day. Compared to Yanis, Sandy felt like she was enduring eternity

every day. Whatever she ate, she vomited; whatever she drank, she vomited. She couldn't even

tolerate plain water.

Brandon was hands-on every day, trying different ways to prepare food and drinks for Sandy. However,

Sandy's condition didn't improve. In fact, she was vomiting so much that she became dehydrated, and

even her liver function suffered, landing her in the hospital.

Seeing Sandy endure such suffering, Brandon even harbored some less than pleasant thoughts. But

he suppressed them, fearing Sandy's anger.

Maya and Kason visited Sandy from time to time. One day, as Kason exited the elevator, he spotted

Brandon hunched over, tugging at his disheveled hair.

Maya, who had been a part of the Hawkins family for years, had never seen Brandon like this. She

found it both amusing and heart-wrenching.

"What's going on? Sandy vomited again?" Maya whispered as she approached.

Hearing Maya's voice from above, Brandon looked up, bewildered and at a loss. He stood up when he

saw Maya and Kason standing there. "Why are you here at this time?"

"Your sister saw someone buying fruits on the way and thought they looked fresh, so she bought some

for Sandy," Kason explained. "Is she still vomiting severely?"

Brandon weakly replied, "Her liver function is becoming abnormal." Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

They had tried every method to stop the vomiting, but nothing seemed to work. Sandy couldn't eat

anything and was being sustained by nutrients through an IV. But how could intravenous nutrients

compare to real food?

"I'm going in to check on her," Maya said, then turned and entered the room.

After Maya left, Kason and Brandon exchanged glances. Kason walked over to a chair in the corridor

and sat down. "This period will pass."

Brandon sighed, running his hand through his disheveled hair. "Was your sister like this before?"

Kason shook his head. "No, neither of my children had such strong reactions."

Though Maya had some symptoms of morning sickness, it wasn't as severe as Sandy's.

"Brother, I suddenly don't want..." Brandon began.

"Nonsense!"

Kason cut him off before he could finish. "Don't say that! If Sandy hears you, she'll definitely get upset."

Despite everything, Sandy hadn't expressed any intention of not wanting the baby.

Though Sandy vomited so severely, she never said she didn't want the child. She'd comfort Brandon

whenever he worried and told him it was normal during pregnancy. Still, he couldn't help but worry.

"I won't say it in front of her."

Seeing Brandon like this, Kason sighed helplessly. "What did the doctor say?"

"It's her constitution."

There was no suitable solution to this issue. In the hospital room, when Maya entered, Sandy had just

come out of the restroom. She looked like she had contracted a serious illness, her face devoid of

color, making everyone feel sorry for her, yet helpless.

"Sister-in-law, why are you here?" Sandy asked.

Maya put down the fruits and sat down next to Sandy. "I saw a vendor selling fresh fruits on the way

and thought they might help. Would you like some?"

Sandy glanced at the fruits Maya brought and pointed weakly. "Could I have a kiwi, please?"

Maya acknowledged her request and got a kiwi for Sandy. "Try this."

Sandy thanked her and accepted the fruit. She finished it quickly. "Could I have another one?"

Maya smiled slightly and fetched another kiwi. While eating, Sandy felt fine, but she knew she would

vomit it all up soon.

For the sake of Maya's gesture, Sandy forced herself to eat.

After finishing the kiwi, Sandy couldn't hold back and rushed to the restroom, throwing up even her

stomach's contents.

Maya stood worriedly by the restroom door, wanting to comfort Sandy but holding back at her request.

"Sandy, are you okay?"

Sandy stopped vomiting after a long while, washed her face, and rinsed her mouth. "It's okay, it's like

this every day. Eating a little is still good."

Whenever Sandy couldn't control the vomiting, she thought that at least some of the nutrients were

absorbed before she threw up, hoping to protect the baby.

So, every time Brandon brought something for her to eat, Sandy would take a few bites. Even though

she knew she'd throw up later, she did it for the baby.

"Vomiting again?" Brandon and Kason entered the room. Seeing Sandy being led out of the restroom

by Maya, Brandon approached and held Sandy, asking softly, "Did you just vomit?"

"Sandy wanted to eat some kiwi earlier. She had two, but she vomited shortly after," Maya explained.

Brandon furrowed his brows, supporting Sandy as she lay back on the bed. "Do you want some

water?"

Sandy nodded. "Cold water, please."

Brandon didn't hesitate; if Sandy wanted something, he'd make sure she got it.

"Yogurt or cold water?"

"Yogurt, please."

Brandon had prepared a small fridge in the room stocked with Sandy's preferred beverages and

snacks.

"Brandon, the AD calcium milk from my childhood, that one," Sandy pointed to the one at the edge of

the fridge.

Brandon grabbed it and handed it over with a straw. "Take small sips."

Sandy agreed and took small sips, but after a while, she didn't want any more. She gave it back to

Brandon. "I'm a bit sleepy."

Sleeping was the only time Sandy felt comfortable, so most of her time lately was spent sleeping.
