Chapter 985: Unforgivable Even in Death

Yanis reached out and took the water glass from Zane's hand. She moved over a bit to make space for

Zane to sit down. "I'm not going out. Let's go together to the Lawrence's Mansion later and see

Grandma."

Zane sat down beside Yanis. "Okay."

The two of them chatted in the living room for a while, but Yanis started feeling drowsy again. Seeing

that it was still early, she simply lay down on Zane's lap and fell asleep.

After chatting with Albi about company matters, Zane wanted to talk to Yanis but found that she had

already fallen asleep.

Looking at Yanis sleeping peacefully, Zane held back the words he was about to say.

He put his phone, which had been buzzing with notifications, aside and gently supported Yanis's neck

before standing up and lifting her from the sofa.

The moment Zane lifted Yanis, she opened her eyes and glanced at him. "I fell asleep again."

Zane looked at Yanis, who looked tired, and said softly, "It's still early. You can sleep a little longer, and

I'll wake you up later."

Yanis found a comfortable position in Zane's arms and had no intention of getting up. "Will you lie down

with me for a while?"

Zane nodded and hummed, "Sure."

"Zane, I'm not feeling as drowsy anymore." After lying down on the bed, Yanis whispered to Zane, who

was lying beside her.

Zane turned to face Yanis and asked, "Not drowsy anymore?"

Yanis hummed in response, "You didn't sleep much last night either. Why don't you take a nap?"

Zane reached out and pulled Yanis into his embrace. "Then you can nap with me."

Yanis raised her eyes and met Zane's gaze before nodding gently. "Okay." This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

The two of them gazed at each other from such a close distance before closing their eyes in unison.

Yanis said she wasn't drowsy, but she fell asleep slightly faster than Zane.

Seeing Yanis asleep before him, Zane's lips couldn't help but curl up. He tightened his grip on her

hand.

They both woke up again, disturbed by Yanis's phone ringing beside the bed.

The phone rang for a long time before Yanis groggily reached for it. Without even looking at the caller

ID, she answered the call directly.

"Yanis, it's Aunt Rachel."

Hearing Rachel's voice, Yanis became slightly more awake. "Aunt Rachel, what's up?"

"When are you and Zane coming over? Sophia and I are preparing dinner."

Checking the time on her phone, Yanis replied, "We'll be right there."

Rachel acknowledged and told Yanis to take their time driving before hanging up.

After ending the call, Yanis placed her phone back on the side table and looked at Zane.

Zane was also awake, and when Yanis looked at him, their eyes met.

"A call from the Lawrence's Mansion?" Zane asked first.

Yanis replied, "It was Aunt Rachel."

Zane pulled Yanis back into his arms. "Lie down with me for a little longer before we get up."

The two of them cuddled on the bed for a while before finally getting up and getting ready to go to the

Lawrence's Mansion.

The situation with the Old Mrs. Lawrence wasn't serious. She insisted on being discharged from the

hospital and didn't want to stay there any longer. The doctors had no choice but to agree to keep things

light to avoid stressing her out.

But after coming back home, she still needed to rest and recuperate. It seemed that aging had caught

up with her overnight.

Usually, when Yanis visited, the Old Mrs. Lawrence would be chatty and wouldn't stop talking.

However, today, she was unusually quiet.

Sitting in a reclining chair, she just watched Yanis and Zane, wanting to speak but hesitating to do so.

Zane was chatting with Dylan and didn't notice the Old Mrs. Lawrence's emotions, but Yanis did.

"I'll go talk to Grandma for a bit," Yanis said, removing her hand from Zane's and standing up. She

walked over and squatted in front of the Old Mrs. Lawrence's chair. "Grandma, would you like to go to

the backyard with me for some fresh air?"

The Lawrence family had prepared a wheelchair because there were two elderly people in the house.

The Old Mrs. Lawrence nodded when she heard Yanis and said softly, "Sure."

Yanis turned to push the wheelchair and guided the Old Mrs. Lawrence to the backyard.

When there was no one else around, Yanis half squatted in front of the Old Mrs. Lawrence and asked

in a gentle voice, "Grandma, did you have something to say earlier?"

The Old Mrs. Lawrence held Yanis's hand and said softly, "Yanis, when are you and Zane planning to

have a child?"

Yanis's expression stiffened slightly upon hearing the question, but she quickly responded, "We're

considering it."

The Old Mrs. Lawrence nodded. "Hurry up and have one. Both you and Zane are not young anymore.

It's time to have a child. It's been a while since our family had a new addition."

Yanis hummed, "Okay."

Then, the Old Mrs. Lawrence held Yanis's hand tighter and said, "Yanis, do you still resent Lucia?"

Yanis looked at the Old Mrs. Lawrence and whispered, "Grandma, I don't know."

If it wasn't for Lucia, that child would be nearly two years old by now.

"It's normal to feel resentment. She treated you badly from the moment you entered the Lawrence

family. Later, she did so many heartless things," the Old Mrs. Lawrence's voice was low. "I can't

understand why she did that."

Yanis listened to the Old Mrs. Lawrence's words and was about to say something. However, when she

thought about what Lucia had done and the words she said to Zane before leaving, Yanis couldn't bring

herself to be generous.

She might never forgive Lucia in her lifetime, even though she was already dead.

She didn't want to forgive her.

And she wouldn't forgive her.

"She never did anything good in her life. Let's not mention her. I just suddenly thought of her and

wanted to say a few words," the Old Mrs. Lawrence seemed to realize that mentioning Lucia in front of

Yanis was not appropriate.

Yanis heard this and gently patted the Old Mrs. Lawrence's hand. "Grandma, I'm fine."

The Old Mrs. Lawrence looked elsewhere. "Now, I just hope that you and Zane can have a child as

soon as possible. It will bring joy and happiness. Seeing you both happy, I'll be content and at ease."

Yanis replied, "We will."

Yanis stayed outside with the Old Mrs. Lawrence until Rachel and Sophia finished preparing dinner

before they all went inside.

As Yanis pushed the wheelchair with the Old Mrs. Lawrence, Anika and Iris had just arrived at the

Lawrence's Mansion.
