Chapter 548 Falling Into the Secret Room
Colbert, who had been enduring patiently, couldn't suppress his anger any longer. He turned his head
slightly. His handsome face was tinged with indifference. "If you want me to leave, I'll leave. Wouldn't
that be embarrassing for me?"
"So, you won't leave, huh? Fine, if you won't, then I will!"
Eudora slapped a certain spot on the nearby artificial mountain, stood up, and tried to walk toward a
large rock on the right. Little did she know that as soon as she took a few steps, the ground beneath
her suddenly gave way. She let out a sharp scream, "Ah!" and fell.
From the moment she stood up, Colbert had been watching her intently. When he saw her suddenly
plummeting, he rushed toward her at lightning speed and grabbed her hand.
However, he was too fast, and the force of Eudora's fall was too great. It caused Colbert to be dragged
down along with her.
Everything turned pitch black, and Eudora felt herself tumbling and sliding. Then, suddenly, she
descended vertically and landed on the ground with a loud thud.
At the moment of the fall, she didn't experience the bone-chilling pain she expected. Instead, she felt
something soft beneath her.
"Hiss..."
Colbert murmured softly.
In the darkness, Eudora reached out and confirmed that Colbert had reacted astonishingly quickly
when they were falling vertically and managed to hold onto her, bearing all the danger himself.
Moreover, he didn't seem to have considered what awaited them underground or whether it was
dangerous.
Thinking about this, Eudora couldn't help but feel a little touched.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Eudora asked while her hand roamed over his face, tracing his cheek and lightly tapping his nose to
feel his breath.
"I'm not going to die."
Colbert brushed her hand away, took out his phone, and turned on the flashlight, immediately
searching the surroundings.
However, the secret room underground was too vast, and the phone's light could not illuminate
everything clearly.
"Why didn't you mention that your mansion had an underground chamber? We almost died here," Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
Colbert remarked.
Eudora rubbed her knee. It hurt as she had banged it on the ground when she fell.
He said, "Even Grandma probably didn't know about this secret room."
Colbert held his phone, preparing to call for help, but to his dismay, there was no signal at all!
"No signal?"
Eudora had a vague guess and sighed, "We fell from above, stumbled and tumbled, and descended
vertically for several seconds. It must be at least 60 to 90 feet deep. We might have died here if the
slide wasn't inclined and softened the impact."
Right after the fall, she was too nervous to notice any discomfort.
But now, after a while, she felt pain all over her body, especially in her legs, which hurt badly.
Eudora was well aware that if she felt so sore all over, Colbert must be in an even worse state.
"Don't worry. I'm here," he assured her.
