Chapter 855 A Mysterious Caller (Part Two)
Chapter 855 A Mysterious Caller (Part Two)
Putting her phone near her ear, she asked quickly, "Who on the earth are you and what do you want
from me? What do you want? Tell me quickly."
"I just want to meet you and share something about Lawrence. Something interesting has happened in
his life. I thought you might feel interested to know this piece of information," Sally answered,
attempting to arouse Rebecca's interest in the discussion.
"I need to know your name first before believing anything that you say," Rebecca insisted. She had
received many threatening phone calls ever since she had become famous. That was why she became
extra careful and cautious.
"Believe it or not, I can provide all the information on Lawrence to you," Sally answered curtly without
making an attempt to waste any time on the topic. She changed the subject and said, "You must be
sulking because of Lawrence, I believe. He left the city without even telling you. Do you want to know
where he is right now?"
"Who the hell are you and how do you know so many things about Lawrence? What else do you know
about me?" Rebecca asked, her suspicions increasing every moment. 'It has been years since I have
dated Lawrence. Even our classmates were ignorant of our relationship. Who is this woman? I can tell
by her voice that she isn't my classmate, ' she pondered.
"Miss Rebecca, I know that you are a very famous star. But I'm not your fan," Sally replied, "I will meet
you at the Starbucks on the Chenxi Road at 4:00 pm this afternoon. If you don't come, be sure that you
will lose Lawrence forever."
She stressed the last sentence to evoke a strong response. In fact, she was certain that Rebecca
would now show up. Lawrence meant a lot to her. Even though she had been in the show business for
years and become quite smart, she was still a common woman who craved for a romantic relationship
with the man she loved.
Sally hung up the phone.
Rebecca stood still, and she was really confused about whatever was being said.
In the hallway of the hospital, Aria looked at the ID caller on the screen. Overwhelmed by thrill, she
knew that the call was from the man who she was missing so much.
Aria picked up the phone. "Hello," she answered softly.
"Where are you?" a cold yet attractive voice resounded from the other end of the phone. Aria felt that
her heart had skipped a beat at the familiar voice.
"I am in the hospital with my Mom," she replied meekly. When she heard his voice, she was immersed
in excitement and her happiness knew no bounds.
"Is she alright?" Lawrence's voice reverberated from the other end of the line.
"Yes, she is good. Mr. Greg attends to her very well," Aria answered gladly. The joy on her face gave
way to embarrassment. "Well, thank you. Without Mr. Greg, my Mom would not have been feeling
better so soon..."
Before she finished her sentence, Lawrence cut in.
"And, do you miss me?" Lawrence asked her flatly.
Aria flushed like a rose. She felt lucky that Lawrence wasn't standing in front of her right now.
Otherwise, she would have vanished in the air because of this feeling. She was always a brazen girl.
But at this moment, she was feeling coy.
"Yes, I do," Aria admitted tenderly. "I really miss you."
"Take good care of yourself, then," Lawrence said briefly. These words could fully express his concern
for her.
"I will," Aria responded in a low voice. Afraid that Lawrence might soon end the call, she hurried to ask,
"How are you doing? And how about your sister? Is she alright?"
"We're fine. I may not call you for the next few days. When I return from abroad, I will come straight
away to you," Lawrence replied.
"Okay," Aria returned. "I hope your sister has a successful surgery."
"I have to go now," Lawrence said coldly.
"Bye!" Aria returned.
She held on to her phone tightly, still basking in happiness. She couldn't believe that she had heard
Lawrence's voice, it felt as if it had just been a dream.
Staring blankly ahead, Aria wore a bright smile on her face. His call had brought her much pleasure
and warmth. Even though he wasn't by her side, he was still concerned about her. She was contented
to have his love for a lifetime.
Happily, she walked into the ward briskly. When Kate looked at her delighted daughter, she inquired,
"What's up, Aria? Do you have any good news to share?"
"Nothing, Mom," Aria replied, as she turned around to pour some water for her mother.
"You're lying," Kate blurted out, "You're my daughter, do you think you can hide anything from me? You
must have some good news, or you won't look so happy. Look at yourself, your expressions have
betrayed you."
"Come on, Mom. I just received my friend's call. That's all," Aria responded, feeling a little nervous now.
She hadn't told her mother what had happened between her and Lawrence. She planned to fill her only
when she got better.
"Is that so?" Kate asked, fixing her eyes on her daughter.
"I'm telling you the truth," Aria replied, as she perched herself on the edge of the bed.
With her eyes still glued on Aria, Kate took her by the hand. "Aria, although we are poor, I hope you are
able to find your own happiness. When I am released from the hospital, I will find another job. You can
get a boyfriend. If you think he is a good man, you two can get married. You should consider your
marriage," she said in a motherly tone. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
"I never thought about it," Aria lowered her head, not daring to meet her mother's gaze. She was still
thinking of Lawrence.
"You should start considering about getting settled. You should hurry up now. If that guy really loves
you, I will agree to your marriage," Kate cooed, "He must treat you well. It doesn't matter whether he is
very rich or not. I just hope that he and his family can take good care of you."
"Come on, Mom. You are being too sentimental," Aria retorted with a flush on her face. Handing her
mother a glass of water, she continued, "Drink some water. The doctor said that you need to drink more
water"
Kate understood that her daughter was dodging her question. "You are a naughty child!" she said.
