Chapter 923 Leaving The JC Group (Part One)

Lawrence arrived at the JC Group and headed straight for his office. Since Aria had been occupying his

mind, he could not focus on his work.

Ivy immediately entered Lawrence's office with a cup of coffee. When she noticed that he was staring

blankly ahead, she knew that he was contemplating.

She put the coffee mug on his desk lightly to avoid creating a sound as she didn't want to disturb him.

Then she turned around and was about to take her leave.

"Wait!" Lawrence abruptly stopped her.

Ivy stopped and turned to look at Lawrence. "What can I do for you, Mr. Lawrence?" she asked politely.

"Why do you think Aria suddenly treat me like this?" Lawrence asked with a confused expression. Then

he looked out of the window. He really didn't know what to do with Aria.

After reflecting quickly, Ivy could roughly figure out what was troubling her boss. She focused her gaze

"Umm," Lawrence nodded.

Ivy sidled up to Lawrence and stood beside him. She put on a fake frown and guessed, "She might

have heard about what happened at the party, and that's why she got angry."

Lawrence didn't respond. He was certain that Aria didn't know that he met Anna at the party. He knew

that she only got annoyed and even tried to leave him because of that lunch with Anna.

Ivy fixed her eyes on Lawrence's side profile. She would never get sick of looking at his handsome

face. Only in some special situations could she get the chance to be close to her boss and such

opportunities were rare so she wanted to take advantage of it. As she watched his scowling face, an

idea suddenly came to her mind. Perhaps it was a good chance for her. Lawrence was currently at a

loss so she thought she could seize the opportunity and try her best to win his heart.

"Mr. Lawrence, I've already gotten some information about Miss Anna. I learned that you grew up

together and you were good friends. Besides, she is a high-born lady. I think she is way much better

than Miss Aria. At least she could be of great help to you. If you marry her, it will surely do good to the

future of the JC Group. By that time, perhaps our company could earn a reputation worldwide with the

support of her family. What do you think?" Ivy spoke in Anna's favor. When she noticed the pensive

look on Lawrence face, her mouth curved into a smile. 'It looks like he agrees to what I said, ' she

assumed.

Ivy then decided to add fuel to the fire. But this time, she was against Anna which surprised Lawrence

a lot.

"Boss, I heard that you and Miss Anna dated in the past. However, she broke your heart and dumped

you," Ivy started. "Now, she wants you to be back together. But, what if she deserts you again?" she

added. "As I have said, Miss Anna is from a wealthy family. She doesn't need to depend on anyone

else, not even on you. If you two start over again, she can still leave you whenever she wants because

she can still enjoy a comfortable life even without you. So I think you better find someone who will

never leave you." Ivy rested her hand on Lawrence's shoulder the moment she finished talking.

Lawrence finally understood what Ivy was trying to say when he noticed the hand on his shoulder. 'She

is giving me hints. It turns out, she wants me to give up on both Aria and Anna so she can get the

chance to be my wife. She thinks she is the perfect person for me, ' he speculated.

Lawrence raised his head and leered at Ivy. He asked deliberately, "So, who do you think I should

choose?"

As Lawrence didn't snap at her when she put her hand on his shoulder, she regarded it as a permission

to have some intimate acts. Without any misgivings, she stepped closer behind him and threw her arms

around his neck. Then she rested her head on his shoulder intimately.

"I have been by your side for a long time, why couldn't you give me a shot?" Ivy cooed sweetly. She

finally blurted out her real thoughts. Lawrence didn't say a word so she continued, "Each time I

accompany you to some occasions, I really wish that you can introduce me to other people as your

woman instead of your assistant. Do you know how much I am dying to hear that?"

"You are well aware that office romance is prohibited in the JC Group," Lawrence countered icily. He

already discerned that his assistant had a thing for him but neither of them brought it up. Now that she

was confessing her feelings for him, neither of them dodged the topic as well.

"I can quit my job immediately. As long as I can stay close to you and be your woman, I am willing to

hand in my resignation and leave the JC Group," Ivy replied instantly. She thought there was no need

for her to go to work once she became Lawrence's woman.

"What are you going to do after quitting your job? How are you going to support yourself?" Lawrence

asked on purpose. He would like to know more of her thoughts. "Once we get together, I don't need to

work to support myself. I have you and I know you will keep me," Ivy answered coquettishly.

"Get out of here!" Lawrence yelled out before Ivy could get nearer him.

Ivy's expression froze the moment she heard Lawrence's angry voice.

She fell silent. She couldn't understand what was going on.

"Do I need to repeat myself twice?" Lawrence asked menacingly. Fury was already gleaming in his

eyes.

Ivy knew Lawrence's temper very well so she reluctantly withdrew her hands around his neck and

stood straight.
