“I can get that myself,” I say when Noah makes an effort to open the door for me.

“You are pregnant,” he said it as if I was handicapped.

“And that means?” I asked settling in well. He slams the door and goes over to his side and slides in too.

“It means that you can’t stress yourself,” he said starting the car.

“And opening the door by myself is stress?” I asked putting on my seat belt.

“Yes,” he said before driving away.

“Where are we going?” I say changing the topic.

“So I have managed to talk to my mom. She doesn’t like you but for my sake, she will put up with you” he said.

“And that made me feel loved,” I said and he frowned. “So where to” I asked again. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“We are just going for dinner,” he said and when he rounded the corner we had been to three days ago I frowned.

“At your place?” I question and he nods.

“There is a beautiful view that overlooks a lake,” he said and then continued. “We can have dinner there,” he said and I looked at him in amusement. He seemed to be leaving out a few details so I just went with it

“What a good way to charm a girl” I commented sarcastically. He must have missed my sarcasm because he just smirked.

“I have my ways,” he said with a wink that did my insides to jellies.

We were led to the backyard or garden that overlooked the lake. We sat inside with a glass wall separating us from the outside. It was a lovely view. The place was dimly lighted and the sight before me was very romantic.

“What is this for?” I ask trying to push out the words from my mouth.

“Well, I know for a fact that every girl dreams of a proposal. I don’t know you well enough to know the kind of proposal that you like but I put this one up for you. It’s fruitless to ask because you will still marry me but I still need to give you” he said behind me.

“Wow,” I said in a breath. “You are an awfully considerate guy,” I say and then I wanted to turn to him. When I turned he was on his knees. “You went all out didn’t you?” I ask him from the depth of my heart.

This single action sends shivers down my spine.

“So Rachael Mirchoff, will you marry me?” he asked me with a heartwarming smile.

“I have to say yes anyway,” I said a laugh leaving my lips. “Yes,” I say and he stands up and puts the diamond ring around my finger.

“This was the small thing I could get within a small amount of time,” he said pushing the ring on my finger.

“It’s beautiful,” I said admiring the rock on my finger. It was so beautiful.

“A beautiful ring for a beautiful owner,” he said, and I was lost for words. He knew how to use his words well. No one apart from family complimented me as well as he did. “Come let’s have the dinner or else it will go to waste,” he said taking me to the table.

“The setting is amazing,” I said staring out at the sunset outside. “Thank you,” I say sincerely and he flashes a smile to me.

“Anything I can do to make this seem as normal as possible then count me in,” he said and I already thought I liked this one.

We talked as we ate and we had some funny moments and some serious moments and some sad moments especially when he talked about his dad. His dad was a workaholic and won’t stay at home with them. Now that he thinks about it well he sees that his parents were never in love.

His dad used work as an excuse to get out of the house. One thing was sure he was a man of integrity he didn’t cheat on her and he didn’t ask for a divorce either. He was an honorable man.

“I wish I was able to meet such a brave man,” I say when he just finished telling me one of his tales.

“He was simply the best. He loved his children and his entire company loved him so much. He was kind hearted and a very good person. The only person he couldn’t love was my mom.” he said sadly.

“Do you have some music?” I ask him trying to steer away from the touchy subject.

“Yeah. Why?” he asked and I faced him.

“You are supposed to have a dance after a proposal,” I say the first thing that pops into my mind. “So what type of music do you listen to?” I asked as he stood up cleaning his mouth with a napkin.

“Come,” he said extending his arms for me to take it. I took it and he led me to the other corner of the room. “I already made arrangements for the music,” he said and I smiled at his efforts.

He played a song I can’t recall but it was a slow song and we danced to the tone. I hoped he wouldn’t regret dancing with me after this. I’m bad at songs, social media, dancing, and well anything my age range calls fun.

“Thank you,” I say and he looks at me directly in the eyes. His blue eyes burn to the depth of my grey ones.

“For what?” he asked and I just looked at him back.

“All these,” I said and he hung his head low.

“I’m sorry I took away the opportunity from the special guy coming for you” he added.

“The thought that you think this should be done counts a lot,” I say squeezing his shoulders in my palms.

“You think so?” he asked. He must have been really worried about this if it was a good idea or not.

“Yes. This engagement ring will make it easier for me to explain to my family” I say and he nods.

“I’m sorry again” he apologizes.

“Not your fault,” I say as we continue to sway to the music playing in the background.

It was not his fault
