Chapter 810 Check if Xavia’s Pregnant or Faking It
Chloe was fairly certain that a man who just recently had his reproductive organs removed would not readily expose himself to the public and subject himself to critical stares from strangers.
"It wasn't me. It was Callum." Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
Investigating the royal family could lead to interception. While he had ways to avoid being intercepted, time was a constraint.
Chloe fell into contemplative silence, nodding without further comment. She chose not to excessively dissect Callum's intentions toward her at this point. Whether his kindness was genuine, feigned, or a mere facade, time would eventually unveil the truth.

Before returning to the hall, Chloe made a detour to the bathroom to touch up her makeup. Her lipstick, in particular, was an absolute mess.
When she got back, Noah and Otto were still engrossed in their conversation. As she approached them, Otto's words tapered off. Noah's demeanor remained unchanged as he placed a piece of fish before her. "You were gone for a while."
"I got lost," Chloe lied without even skipping a beat.
Noah paused, then looked at her with a penetrating gaze. "There's a bodyguard stationed just about ten meters away from here. How could you have gotten lost unless you deliberately sought out the recreational area and hid there?"
A perplexed crease formed on Chloe's forehead as she set down her fork. "Are you accusing me of something?"
To be honest, Chloe had been unaware of the recreation area. No wonder Clara chose that area—a private place from prying eyes.
"No, it was just a question." Noah's tone remained even as he cocked his head, looking at Chloe with an odd expression. "Is something bothering you, Coco? You appear quite flustered."
"Perhaps she’s feeling guilty.” Otto offered a half-joking, half-serious smile as he narrowed his eyes.
Chloe's fists clenched as a touch of nervousness crept up, but she quickly countered with a snort. "Hmph, the moment I enter, you two go silent. I think you’re the ones who are acting suspicious."
Otto and Noah exchanged glances. Noah took a sip of his tea, leaving the response to Otto. It was fine since the man had a favor to ask.
"Business matters. If you want to know, I’ll tell you."
"Let's hear it then."
"We're discussing investing in newcomers in the entertainment industry."
Chloe snorted, a hint of disbelief in her expression.
Otto looked toward Noah to observe his reaction. He had planned to elaborate, but his attention immediately shifted away as Zoelle entered the room dressed in red, exuding an alluring grace.
Chloe waved. "Over here."
Zoelle plopped herself into a chair and chugged down a glass of water. "I sat in a cab for over an hour to get here. I’m beat. If it weren't for the handsome men here, I wouldn't have," she grumbled and complained.
"There really are many handsome men about, but first, you have to help me with something important," Chloe said.
"No problem. Where's the person?"
Chloe threw a doubtful glance at Otto, who wanted to butt in but never got a chance. She took Zoelle's arm and suggested, "Let's talk somewhere else."
Otto and Xavia were from Duskfall. What if they overheard the plan and gave her up?
After walking to an empty and quiet corner, Chloe subtly motioned with her chin. "Keep an eye on that woman in the beige dress at your four o'clock. She's Joseph's long-standing entanglement from years ago. See if you can find a moment to check if she's pregnant or faking it."
She had approached Zoelle yesterday with a try-and-see attitude, hoping Zoelle would come with her to today's party. It was all part of the plan to verify Xavia’s pregnancy. And to her surprise, Zoelle had agreed without hesitation.
