Chapter 824 He’d Do Anything to Keep Her
Noting the change in Joseph's expression, a hint of a smile played on Noah’s lips. He opened the bedroom door and entered.
At five in the evening, Chloe had yet to come out of her room. Joseph had contemplated multiple times to just barge in and clarify things. Seeing how unforgiving she was toward him, she surely would not forgive Noah either.
With that thought in mind, Joseph calmed himself. Holding onto his last hope, he briskly walked up to the door. He hoped that Chloe would not wholeheartedly believe Noah just because of his confession. He raised his hand to knock on the door, but before his knuckles made contact, he heard Chloe's voice from inside.
"Of course, I love you. Whenever I see Joseph, the only things I feel are disgust and nausea. We're about to get married, so stop talking about him, all right?"
"Alright, I’ll stop, but he's outside right now and has been waiting for you for a long time. Won't you go out and see him?"
"No, I've already said that I don't want to see him. I want to leave the whole past behind. That marriage brought me too much pain. If I could start over, I'd rather have never met him."
“Okay, then I'll talk to him."
After a series of footsteps, Noah opened the door and stuck out his head, but Joseph was nowhere to be seen. The smile on his face widened as he looked at the voice recorder pen in his hand. He had gotten someone to imitate Chloe's voice, and the resemblance was absolutely remarkable. Without listening carefully, anyone would mistake the voice for Chloe’s.
Noah turned to look at Chloe, who had fallen asleep due to being sedated, and his smile slowly faded. He was willing to go to any lengths to keep her by his side, and anyone who stood in his way would pay the price.
"Bring all the psychology books from the study to my bedroom," he ordered.
"Yes, sir," a helper replied.
Glancing at the time, Noah estimated that Chloe would be asleep for several more hours. He then made a call to a renowned psychology professor in Docwood.
"Professor, are you busy? I'd like to ask you a few questions in person."

Inside a VIP private room in an upscale club, Gabriel sipped on his drink as he held a woman in his arms. He said, "I told you, being alone is fun. Look at Joe. He's downed over ten bottles of beer already."
Samuel pushed his glasses up his nose and snorted. "Stop making fun of others. At least he has a son. What do you have?"
"I have a son too."
"Don't talk nonsense. When did you gain a son?"
Gabriel pushed away the woman and playfully hooked his arm around Samuel's neck. "Little Sammy, call me Daddy and I'll buy you some candy."
The veins on Samuel's forehead popped as he hissed, "Fuck off!"
"Okay, okay. Chill," Gabriel said as he rolled his eyes. He clinked his glass with Joseph's and said, "In my opinion, whether Chloe forgives Noah or not, at least there's closure between you two. Not every relationship has a conclusion. Don’t worry, you won’t be lacking in women. I'll get my lovely friend to find you a few."
Before Joseph could respond, Gabriel called over the club owner and described Chloe's appearance. "My buddy has a very specific type," he added.
The owner gave Joseph a knowing look, and surprisingly, she was rather efficient. She brought over five girls that resembled Chloe, and one of them was especially close. Gabriel and Samuel exchanged glances, then simultaneously pointed at her.
"This one. She stays."
