Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love

Chapter 834 Desmond Won’t Ignore This

Chapter 834 Desmond Won’t Ignore This

In the office, Alfred watched as the dean poured Joseph a cup of coffee. He remained calm. "Mr. Joseph, I know why you’ve come here, but we can't give out patient information. I'm sorry."

Lucas was prepared for this. He said politely, "Mr. Alfred, I’ve found that Ms. Chloe isn’t registered to this institute, so she isn’t your patient. It's fine if you tell us about her."

Alfred frowned in annoyance while Stella snorted in disdain. These people had even pried into other people’s privacy. How disrespectful. She knew she would choose Noah if she were Chloe.

Hearing this, the dean glared at Alfred for being such a disappointment. "Don’t be stubborn. There's nothing you can't say. Mr. Joseph is worried about his friend. Just tell us about her condition."

"Ms. Chloe has depression." Alfred stared at Joseph, signaling with his eyes. "Her marriage to Mr. Joseph five years ago caused her great trauma. My student brought her here for treatment."

A bitter feeling invaded Joseph. "And you’re sure she had depression?”

Alfred paused briefly. Although he had not inspected Chloe, he could see that she was in bad spirits. Noah was one of his top students whom he was very proud of, so his judgment should be right.

"Yes, she has severe depression. Mr. Joseph, you should leave her alone if you want the best for her."

Vince was enraged when he heard this. Why was Alfred saying the same thing as Noah? He whispered to Joseph, "Sir, this old man must be on Noah's side. He has to be lying."

Joseph hung his head and recalled Chloe’s pained expression. He frowned and wished he could suffer the pain in her place.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, Mr. Alfred." He got up to leave despite not having asked much.

Vince followed after him and asked doubtfully, "Sir, shouldn’t we interrogate them further? That old man must be hiding something from us." Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

"Remember that Mr. Joseph knows that better than you," Lucas reminded Vince.

Joseph must have another plan in mind.

"That's true... He is much smarter than me."

Joseph stood at the entrance of the institute and looked resolutely in the direction Noah had taken Chloe. "Give me a piece of paper and a pen."

Lucas lowered his head to fish out the items from his briefcase. He asked, "Sir, are you writing an emergency contract?"

"No, I'm writing Mr. Desmond a letter."

Chloe was Desmond's granddaughter whom he had finally found after looking for her for many years. She was a true descendant of the Sullivan family, and if Noah harmed her, Desmond would not ignore it.

Due to her severe headache, Chloe slept when she got home.

A helper sought Noah out and handed him a photo. "Sir, I found this while cleaning Ms. Chloe's room."

He saw that it was the photo Cyrus had given Chloe previously.

"It's useless. Burn it."

"Okay, sir." The helper then thought of something and added, "Also, Mr. Desmond will be coming home tonight."

"Right, thank you."

When Noah got back to the room, he found Chloe awake. He quickly went up to her and asked concernedly, "How are you feeling? Does your head still hurt?"

"What are you burning?" Chloe asked in a daze. She had caught snippets of the conversation earlier.

Expressionlessly, he answered, "Nothing. Just some waste paper. Grandpa will be coming home tonight. Go ahead and sleep some more. We'll have dinner together later."

"Okay.”

At seven at night, Desmond stepped out of the business class section of the plane. His employee respectfully handed him a letter. "Sir, there's an urgent letter for you."

Desmond was confused. He had not gotten a letter since retiring, and it was an urgent letter. He asked his man to hold on to it first. When he got into the car, he opened the letter and read through it.

The handwriting was strong and smooth, just like the letter writer. Though it was only half a page long, everything written on it was crucial.

The originally relaxed Desmond straightened up in his seat and tensed up as he read the letter. Frowning deeply, he folded the letter and put it aside. He then called the manor’s majordomo.

"Get me the surveillance videos of the manor over the last two days. I want to review them when I get home."
