CHAPTER 55
CHAPTER 55
Summer FroE POV
I could barely sleer ail through the night after hearing about what happened. I knew Mrs. Hughes never liked me, but I never imagined she’d go to that length just to separate her son and L.
It was already 11am, but I didn’t have the strength to leave the bed as I was so weak to. My thoughts were diversified without any destination. Now it explained it all. Xander had been nice to me because he found out the truth. He didn’t probably want me but just feeling guilty about everything that
happened
My phone started to ring, and I groaned frustratingly when checked and realized that it was Dad. I wasn’t in the mood to speak to anyone, so I just ignored his call and watched it ring until it ended. He probably called because of Hunter, and that was the last thing I wanted to talk about now. I’ve already had enough frustration from yesterday to this morning that would last me for a lifetime, so I didn’t want any more of it.
I managed to get off bed, dragged myself into the bathroom, had a long and relaxing bath, and by the time I went back inside the room, I was stunned by the series of missed calls I got. This time, it wasn’t just from Dad, but also from Miguel and Hunter.
As much as I was a bit worried about what was going on, a part of me was sure that this was normal. I mean, there was nothing odd about getting calls from them at the same time, right?
I was about to dial Miguel’s number when my phone started to ring again, and my heart missed a beat when Dad’s name popped on the screen as the caller. I knew I had no choice but to answer his call this time, so I swiped the answer button and held the phone to my ear.
“I thought you were going to ignore my calls forever!” His angry voice resonated from the other end, and I had to move the phone away from my ear
briefly
I’m sorry, Dad. I just stepped out of the bathroom. I had no idea you have been calling me,” I slumped on the bed and rubbed my wet forehead
frustratingly
“What is going on, Summer? You said to keep your identity hidden for now for God knows why, and I agreed to do it for you. What is this I’m seeing on the internet?” I pulled a puzzled look when his angry voice came on again.
“What are you talking –
“We need to see immediately. I want to see you,”
“Dad, can you…” He didn’t wait for me to say whatever I was going to say before he banged the call on me, leaving me even more confused.
“What is he talking about?” My voice came out almost in a whisper as I switched on my data, and notifications started to flood in my phone. I was yet to click on any of them when my phone started to ring, and I quickly answered it.
“Miguel… What’s going on?” I rose from the bed anxiously as I held the phone to my ear, and heard him sigh.
“Ma’am, I tried to call you earlier, but you didn’t answer. I think one of the patients leaked the secret, ma’am”
“Fuck!” I cursed loudly as I sank my fingers into my hair. I was still going to tell the whole world about this, but I was just waiting for something. I just needed a little more time to take care of things and then tell the whole world who I really am.
“Which of them did that? Which of them did that shit after we already signed a contract that they were not going to say anything about that?” I slammed my hand against the wall frustratingly. This was just coming at the wrong time, and it was driving me so fucking crazy.
“It’s one of the patients you operated on last honth. You should check the news yourself, ma’am,”

“Alright. I will” I nodded briefly as 1 slumped on the bed. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Do you want me to sue them, ma’am?”
No_(‘I

“No handle it. At least not yet,” I didn’t know what to do, but suing whoever did that was obviously not a good thing to do at the moment, if not for anything, but for my reputation
“Alright, ma’am. You need to lie low for now. I will adjust your schedule so you can start work when everything cools down,”
“Hmm… Thank you.” The call finally ended, and I sighed.
“Breaking news!!! The face behind the famous mysterious surgeon, Ms. Summer‘ My pictures were all over the internet with several comments under.
1 thought i was never going to see my role model. Damn! She’s so beautiful‘
I’ve ran into her a few times, and I must commend that she is autograph if I knew she was the famous mysterious surgeon‘
really a m
a good person.
1. n. Gosh! I would’ve snapped a picture or two with her, or even get her
1 heard none of her surgeries ever failed. That is how good she is. Gosh! I want to be like her in the future”
“What a super talented young woman”
“I almost died of lung cancer, but all thanks to her. She saved my life, and here I am, free from that tormenting sickness since eighteen months and still
counting now
“I thought I was never going to see the face of the person who saved my life. I wish to meet you soon so I can thank you for saving this helpless woman who almost lost her life six months ago
I’m so glad I finally get to see the face of the person who saved me from being a young widow. Thank you for saving my husband. I wish to meet you soon‘ Those were few of the many
comments, and all I did was smile. I was pissed earlier, but with all the comments, I felt proud and on top of the world. I was glad I could help those people.
A text from Miguel popped on the screen, and I clicked on it
“The daughter of the patient is a reporter and I think she did that to gain attention. What should I do about it, ma’am?”
will handle it‘ My reply was brief and straight. It didn’t matter if she did that to garner attention or not. I was still going to tell the world about it later, anyway, so it’s all good, yeah?
