Chapter 277 Will You Do That?

As the head of the Harrises, the organizers reserved the best seat for Nathael.

Nathael received a message from Maggie after exchanging a few words with the attendees around him.

Nathael pondered for a moment before replying, “Will you do that?”

Maggie looked at his response and felt irritated again.

“Maggie, you’re up next, get ready,” Danielle cued Maggie. She had confidence in Maggie.

Maggie walked towards the stage after setting her phone aside.

“Next up, let’s welcome Maggie from First Institute!”

Maggie gracefully walked to the centre of the stage.

The host was Maggie’s senior. He was a great host.

“Everyone knows that you’re talented. Your performance in the preliminary round was outstanding. You gained a lot of followers in a short time. Are you well–prepared for this round? Would you like to say anything to the audience and supporters below?”

Maggie took the microphone. “I want to tell my juniors watching the competition, First Institute not only provides a broad stage for everyone but also has many talented and good–looking seniors. Welcome everyone to enroll in First Institute!”

Maggie didn’t promote herself because she didn’t need to.

She took the chance to recruit students for First Institute without hesitation. After all, the school had been very supportive, and her teachers and classmates helped her a lot. Maggie wanted to repay their kindness.

As soon as Maggie finished speaking, the audience cheered loudly for her.

“You’re awesome! Be my girlfriend!”

Before the cheers died down, a blushing boy from an unknown school stood up and shouted.

The audience around him laughed out loud at his recklessness.

Nathael’s eyes darkened.

Maggie took a glance at Nathael sitting in the middle of the front row.

He was wearing the same suit and shirt, with a few buttons undone. His Adam’s apple and collarbone were exposed. Making him look dashing.

He was special in Maggie’s eyes, He was still shining even though the hall was dimmed.

Their eyes met and Nathael smiled. He took the heart–shaped banner which was provided by the organisers and waved it.

Maggie’s ears turned red and her heart skipped a beat. Dmn it!

Coincidentally, the camera focused on Nathael. The moment he smiled and raised the banner was being projected on the big screen. The audience was cheering frenzily at him.

Maggie quickly looked away while she blushed.

The host smiled and said, “I believe everyone has seen Maggie’s popularity. But let me tell you, young man, you have to be sincere if you want to confess your feelings. You should prepare flowers at least. After all. Maggie is one of the talents at First Institute. She wouldn’t fall for you because of your sweet talk.

“Alright, back to the point. Let’s see how lucky Maggie is this time. Which piece would she play up next?”

Maggie turned around to look at the big screen behind her. Dozens of piano pieces were flashing on the

screen.

Everything depended on luck. Not everyone was familiar with all the pieces. The difficulties of the pieces

vary too.

If you get to perform a challenging piece or one that you are not familiar with, you might not perform well. The audience would only look at the results. They wouldn’t be bothered by the effort put in behind. the scenes. They would judge based on the few minutes of performance.

After a few moments, the screen finally stopped flashing.

“Luck is not on Maggie’s side. It’s quite a difficult piece. The famous ‘Symphony No. 7 in E Major. Allegretto.

“Nevertheless, we have confidence in Maggie! Let’s cheer for her!”

The stage lights dimmed, and Maggie sat at the piano gracefully.

Honestly, this piece was one of the most challenging pieces in the repertoire. The pianist had to master the coordination of the hands to match the ever–changing melody and fast–paced rhythm.

Maggie remained calm. She was well–prepared for this competition and she was aware of the difficulties.

Soon, she began playing the piano. The piece was about a loving couple separated by illness. The wife was bedridden while the husband used up all his money to cure her but to no avail.

He could only stay by her side in her final moments. They were filled with sorrow. The husband was heartbroken when his wife passed away. He couldn’t suppress his feelings anymore.

He finally calmed down after his burst of emotions subsided. He could only immerse himself in the memories of their past after her funeral. He often sleeps with her photograph in his arms.

He would always dream of them being lovey–dovey. It was difficult to play this part since Maggie the piece. portrayed happiness and sadness at the same time.

The husband felt empty and his tears would flow uncontrollably when he woke up every time. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Maggie closed her eyes to feel the rhythm. Each keystroke and melody was engraved into her mind. She played the piano as if she was in another dimension.

She could feel the man was forced to stay strong even though he was suffering.

The audience was quiet and they were immersed in Maggie’s playing. Some were moved to tears.

unknowingly as if they could feel the man’s pain.

As the piece ended, everyone was struggling to snap back to reality.

It was only when Maggie rose and bowed, that the audience applauded her loudly.

The host couldn’t help but exclaim, “It was such a heart–wrenching piece. Maggie’s rendition of this piece was remarkable. I’m confident that she’ll get a commendable score.”
