Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel)

Chapter 124

Chapter 124

Chapter 124 What She Really Wants.

“Ms. Adam, you’ve got specific needs and standards, so it might take a while to track them down. I’ll make- sure you get them in three days, Shawn promptly assured.

Maggie felt pleased. Thank you, Mr. Lewis.”

She’d been wanting to get diamonds for quite some time, but finding ones that satisfied her was proving to be a challenge.

With Nathael’s birthday looming, she wanted to gift him a brooch. The design was ready, but sourcing the materials was proving to be a hurdle.

Being a jewelry designer, she had high standards for diamond and gemstone quality.

It wasn’t that good ones were scarce, but even the slightest deviations from her expectations were significant. When it came to diamonds, she had specific demands for color, clarity, cut, origin, and more.

That was why Maggie found it a tough nut to crack.

But what was a tough nut for her was a walk in the park for Shawn. Dealing with gemstones and jewelry all year round, he had a stash of goods, making it easy for him to get the batch of diamonds she desired.

“Ms. Adam, I really can’t budge on the price, but I can promise on the timeline. You won’t find anyone faster than me,” Shawn pitched, eager for the deal to go through.

Maggie’s lips curled as she looked Shawn straight in the eye. “We can haggle over the price, Mr. Lewis, but you should also understand that we’re in competition with the Adams, so we naturally need to be quicker.”

“What’s your proposed timeline?” Shawn frowned slightly, intrigued by Maggie’s revelation.

If she can up the price, I guess I can speed up delivery….

“Ten days. I need the first batch delivered in no more than ten days,” Maggie asserted firmly.

Shawn didn’t immediately respond but rather pondered earnestly. Ten days might not seem much earlier than the two weeks he initially suggested, but considering the logistics involved in transporting goods by sea and land, it was no easy feat.

Moreover, though it was only a four–day advance, it represented one–third of the time, making it quite challenging.

“Mr. Lewis, I’m sure you’re capable of that. If you can shorten the delivery time to ten days for the first batch, I can offer 4% more compared to the Adams, Maggie proposed.

Listening to Maggie, Shawn quickly calculated the profit margin and pondered its feasibility.

A few minutes later, Shawn looked up at Maggie and pushed the aquamarine set towards her once more, saying softly. “Ms. Adam, I’ll make sure you get the diamonds you want. But could you give me a hint what’s the maximum the Camerons are willing to offer

Shawn’s demeanor was bold/

Nevertheless, he had always been daring and pushing boundaries. Although speeding up the delivery by

And when it came to risky ventures, one had to weigh if the benefits outweighed the risks.

Clearly, the price offered by the Camerons wasn’t enough.

Or perhaps, Shawn subconsciously felt it could be higher.

79%

Maggie couldn’t help but smile. “Mr. Lewis, you’re quite interesting. But as you know, in business, no one would show their hand to the other party.”

Shawn chuckled. “But will you, Ms. Adam?”

Shawn was gambling that Maggie might disclose some information because her last name was Adam, not Cameron..

Although she was raised by the Camerons, she wasn’t part of their family, and it didn’t make sense for her to compromise herself for the Camerons‘ benefit. Moreover, showing the Camerons hand wouldn’t cause her any losses.

Maggie still didn’t take the aquamarine jewelry set, saying, “Mr. Lewis, I won’t beat around the bush. The most I can do is 4%.

Even though Ronald’s cap was 5%, she couldn’t offer exactly that because he would’ve expected it.

Only when the offer was lower than that would it be a surprising move.

Similarly, she would be more capable and useful for the Camerons that way,

After a moment of contemplation, Shawn said again, Twelve days. That’s the best I can do.”

Maggie thought for a moment and nodded. “Deal”

Then, after notifying Ronald, who was overjoyed and praised her, she immediately sent someone to sign. the contract with Shawn and pay the deposit.

During the transaction, Shawn raised his glass and tapped it against Maggie’s, initiating a conversation. “Ms. Adam, may I know why you need those diamonds?”

Maggie responded softly, “I asked a friend to design something for me, but she has high standards, so I had to trouble you, Mr. Lewis.”

Sensing her reluctance to elaborate, Shawn refrained from further inquiry. Instead, he grinned and suggested, “Would you be interested in meeting a couple of foreigners? The people here are more outgoing compared to those in our hometown.”

Maggie politely declined with a smile, but she could discern Shawn’s preferences from the individuals. around him.

Shawn then introduced her to two of his associates. Maggie interacted patiently with them, not wanting to

offend him.

Meanwhile, Nathael, after reassuring the head of the Winston family, prepared to leave.

However, as he took a few steps, he caught sight of a radiant face amidst the vibrant lights.

Margie sat nearby with her legs crossed as her delicate features exuded a distinct charm. radiating more

allure and sharpness than usual. Her smile displayed a hint of dominance, a new look Nathael hadn’t seen before.

Nathael slowed his pace, his eyes scrutinizing the beautiful woman before him.

“Isn’t that your Little Moon? Shouldn’t you warn her that Shawn is trouble?” A deep male voice resonated beside Nathael.

Nathael placed a cigarette in his mouth and stood by the staircase railing, speaking in a deep tone, “That’s not necessary.”

Hearing this, the man beside him smiled and remained silent.

“Everyone in Aquapolis knows about your remarkable abilities, Mr. Lewis. You can get anyone whatever they want; the sky’s the limit!” Maggie joked, causing Shawn to chuckle heartily.

“You flatter me, Ms. Adam. Don’t worry. I’ll get you anything you want, even if it costs me my life!”

Flattery was a skill everyone possessed. Maggie simply smiled without saying more.

I don’t think Shawn can get me what I really want.

I want the downfall of the Camerons and a bright future for Nathael that is free from worries.

Unfortunately, Shawn can’t get me any of that.

Just then, one of Shawn’s associates, after confirming the transaction, approached and whispered, “We’ve received the funds.”

Elated, Shawn rose from his seat to clink glasses with Maggie once more. “Here’s to a successful partnership, Ms. Adam.”

Maggie, who was in a good mood, smiled back.

After the Camerons paid an upfront fee of 30 million, both them and Shawn were hopeful for considerable profits. However, Maggie knew that this money would vanish into thin air,

The authorities had been keeping a close eye on Shawn for some time. With such a major move underway, they would surely take action soon.

Suddenly, Maggie’s phone rang. She glanced at the screen and muttered, “Alex?”

Why is Alex calling me? Or is it … Nathael?
