Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 863: The Bracelet Jared Made Himself

Tina felt a tingling sensation rise from her toes, spreading through her entire body. Her face flushed slightly as her gaze landed on a strawberry cake to her left and a jewelry box to her right. "Uncle, open it and feed me," Tina said with a playful smile, casually resting one leg over Jared's. She looked completely at ease.

Jared's slender fingers reached for the strawberry cake. He untied the ribbon on the packaging with elegance, carefully cut a piece, and brought it to Tina's lips.

The sweetness of the strawberry filled Tina's mouth, but her heart felt even sweeter. She loved Jared's attentiveness, but even more, she adored the affection she saw in his eyes. Thinking this, she hooked her arms around his neck and kissed his eyes softly.

Jared's breath caught. His hands tightened around her waist, pulling her closer.

The car was filled with an atmosphere of intimacy. Tina nestled into Jared's arms, continuing to enjoy the strawberry cake. "So, what was the surprise you mentioned earlier?"

Jared's gaze was tender as he reached for the jewelry box and opened it. Inside was a bracelet adorned with pale blue gemstones that shimmered in the light. "I know you don't need things like this," he said, "but I've noticed that couples often exchange gifts like these. I designed and made this myself. Give me your hand."

Tina obediently extended her hand. Her wrist was delicate and fair, almost translucent in its fragility.

Jared silently congratulated himself for measuring her wrist while she was asleep. Otherwise, the bracelet would have been too large.

Lowering his head, he carefully fastened the bracelet around her wrist. Tina's fingertips brushed against the cool metal, the sensation pleasing. The bracelet's design featured a pair of wings as its centerpiece, surrounded by tiny blue diamonds, with a heart-shaped blue gem nestled between the wings.

It suited Tina perfectly. She turned and straddled his lap, cupping his chin with both hands before planting a sweet kiss on his lips. "I love this bracelet!" Outside the car window, the distant mountains stretched endlessly, framed by lush greenery. A police car drove up to an open area and came to a halt.

This particular car was designated to transport Victor, given his unique circumstances. To ensure safety, he was not placed with other prisoners.

Two officers sat in the front seats, while three others, along with Victor, occupied the back.

"The car isn't moving. Something's wrong. I'll go check it out. Stay here and keep an eye on him," the driver said, stepping out with his weapon to inspect the situation.

Victor sat trembling in the backseat, sweat streaming down his forehead. Was she still unwilling to let him go? Did she truly want him dead?

"Why isn't he back yet? Do you think something's happened? Should we go check?" one of the officers asked worriedly.

Victor, visibly panicked, grabbed the officer by the arm. "Don't go! Someone's here to kill me! Call your superior right now and get us out of here!"novelbin

The officer in the black uniform frowned, glancing at his colleagues for their input.

"There might really be an issue. I called out to him, but there was no response. Let's call it in. If something happens to a high-priority prisoner like him, we'll be in serious trouble."

Just as the officer reached for his phone, a group of masked men dressed in black stormed the vehicle. They knocked the officers unconscious with precision, the glint of their knives reflecting in Victor's terrified eyes.

At YQ Research Institute, the room was filled with advanced medical equipment. Simone Farrell lay on a white hospital bed, surrounded by the rhythmic beeping of machines. Compared to her earlier state, when she had been hooked up to countless tubes, she now looked like an ordinary patient, peacefully resting with her eyes closed.

Ella sat by Simone's side, gently cleaning her body and massaging her arms and legs with great care.

Outside the room, Peter Crispin and Wraith stood by the door, observing everything through the glass.

"How did someone as devious as Victor manage to catch Jared's aunt's attention?" Peter asked, his face full of confusion.

Wraith, always focused on his research, had no interest in such matters. He shot Peter a disdainful look. "How should I know? Maybe it's some drug that messes with emotions."

"If there's really a drug that can control emotions, then you should develop one to make criminals willingly surrender. I'd make a fortune collecting bounty rewards!" Peter's eyes lit up with excitement as he turned to Wraith.

Wraith's face darkened. He had spoken offhandedly, but Peter had taken it seriously. Gritting his teeth, he retorted, "I should develop a poison to get rid of you, you greedy fool!"

"You'll never succeed in this lifetime. Serena is always there to protect me. If you want to poison me, you'll have to wait for the next life!" Peter grinned mischievously, his eyes full of smugness.

Tina entered the laboratory wearing a white coat, her hair tied back in a neat low bun. She looked both efficient and stunning.

Peter and Wraith noticed her arrival and immediately wanted to speak with her, but Tina cut them off with a sharp glance. "I don't have time for your nonsense right now." Both men fell silent.

Ella, seeing Tina approach, quickly stood up to make room for her. Her tone was serious and pleading. "You have to save my mother."

Tina raised an eyebrow slightly. "I've already developed the antidote."

She glanced at the scars on Simone's hands. Thanks to the medication Tina had applied earlier, the marks had faded significantly, though they were still faintly visible. "I'll prepare a new ointment for her scars. Apply it daily, and within a week, they'll disappear completely."

Ella's eyes filled with emotion. After so many years of waiting, it felt like she was finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Tears welled up, shimmering with hope.

Tina pulled out a freshly-developed pill. Creating it had been no easy task, requiring both Jared's assistance and resources extracted from Victor. She dissolved the pill in water and administered it to Simone. Watching the monitors, she noted that Simone's vital signs were stabilizing-a promising sign.

"How is she? When will she wake up?" Ella asked anxiously, her eyes fixed on her mother's face. If this treatment failed, she didn't know how long she'd have to wait for another chance.

"One hour," Tina said calmly. Holding a vial in her left hand, she carefully added drops of a solution with her right, closely monitoring the reaction.
