Thirty minutes later, Berri whose head was on Tony’s laps called out for Amanda but Tony stopped her because he saw it to be stressful

“Hey, my love, you don’t have to stress yourself. I am here for you and will always be there.”

“Thank you baby.” Responded Berri shyly.

As if he wanted to bring down the walls of Jericho, Tony called out for Amanda as if she had committed a great crime and Amanda ran in with soapy hands. “You called for me.”

“Are you death? How many times do we need to sound your name before you show up?” Tony questioned angrily.

“I’m sorry, I was washing clothes outside.” Amanda said calmly.

“And you do your own washing with your ears or were you sitting on your ears, tell me, which of them?” Tony asked angrily but Amanda repeated her words calmly.

“Like I said Tony, I was outside washing clothes.”

“Fool!” Tony insulted her heartlessly before turning to Berri.

“Honey, she is here.”

“Amanda…” Berri called out to Amanda three times but she didn’t hear as she was completely lost in thoughts. This made Tony very angry and he picked up one side of his shoe and shot Amanda on her head. Amanda subconsciously dutched and gently robbed the place that had been shot as she lifted her eyes and looked at them without saying a word.

“Can you please do me a favour?” Asked Berri

“I don’t do favours.” Amanda responded and turned to walk out but Berri acted pretentiously.

“Amanda, please I’m begging you.” Berri pretentiously kept pleading with Amanda until Tony intervened.

“Where do you think you are going?”

“I am not thinking Tony, I am actually going.” Amanda responded angrily.

Amanda who was just trying her lock came back quietly and stood before them but Berri angrily ignored her.

“My love, she is here.” Berri still didn’t respond which made Tony visibly angry.

“Honey, is there a problem?”

With so much anger, Berri responded as if she had been waiting for the question. “Oh yes! A very big problem. You told me that you love me yet you go around calling other cheap ladies Ama, her name is Amanda not Ama.”

With so much sincerity, Tony apologised

“I’m sorry my baby, it will never repeat itself again.”

“I hope so, because if it dares repeat itself, I will burn down this house.” Berri threatened, which made Amanda laugh out hysterically, making Berri become more furious.

“And what’s funny?”

Amanda, who was still laughing, explained herself. “The other day, my friend and I came across one side chick warning a married man to stop cheating and I thought she was one of her kind in the world not knowing that they are two.”

“So? Who are you referring to as a side chick?”

Tony asked.

“Nothing oh and no one at all.” Amanda responded in a very satisfactory manner but her smile was cut short by Berri’s request.

“Amanda please help massage my feet, I’m having pains all over my body.”Berri pleaded.

Amanda responded to her in a mocking manner but tried to cover her pain.

“There is a misunderstanding somewhere,”

“And what do you mean?” Asked Tony.

“Tony, you can only impregnate a lady but you can’t massage a lady?” Amanda asked with a serious tone.

“Will you shut your mouth and do what you have been asked to do? Nonsense.”

Amanda sat on the floor and started massaging Berri’s feet with tears running down her cheeks but she struggled to hide them? After about four minutes, Berri seized her feet from Amanda as if she was being beaten by a snake and Tony directly slapped Amanda as if she did something wrong.

“What did you do to her?” Tony asked angrily.

“I did nothing to her.” Amanda shouted while crying and this shocked Tony because Amanda has never raised her voice against him.

“Did you just raise your voice at me? Tony asked and Berri joined Tony to question Amanda.

“Amanda, were you referring to me?” Asked Berri with a serious face and Amanda, who was still rubbing her swollen cheek, asked in concussion.

“Referring you to what?”

“As the second person.” Amanda laughed as if she had heard the funniest thing on earth and when no one expected, she said mockingly.

“You keep reminding me of people. Berri, you see 12 years ago when I was in my first year in secondary school, there was this girl that when a lesson is taught by 8:00 AM, She will start her own understanding by 6:00 PM and it’s then that she will run into my house asking me if it’s what the teacher meant.”

Amanda was still talking when Berri said angrily. “I feel so annoyed to be insulted. Get out of my sight.”

As if she didn’t hear what Berri just said, she stood and took short steps towards the door but still laughing and as soon as Amanda got out and shut the door, she burst into hot tears.

As soon as they walked in, everyone composed themselves and greeted Elion and Ella politely but Elion ignored them and Ella was the only one who responded.

“Miss Ella, good morning.” Maya greeted gleefully and Ella responded while extending her hand to Maya for a handshake which made Mr/Mrs Madison to be very happy and satisfied with their daughter.

“So, we will quickly talk about the basis of our project. We won’t talk about land because we have a good land already…”

“You got the land already?” Ella was interrupted by Mrs. Madison made Elion frown unconsciously but the bold manner in which Ella replied her made Elion very satisfied.

“Mrs. Madison, we all were present when my PA said we were going to use your…”

“How can you stand on your PA’s words? She’s just your PA and has nothing to do with this project so why listen to her? She has no rights over the land in question.” said Mrs. Madison.

“Mrs. Madison, it seems my PA knows a lot about you that can land your entire family in jail. So which do you prefer? Give her the land to seal her lips or hold on to the land and you, your husband and beloved daughter rot in jail?”

Ella asked with an indifferent manner.

“My daughter has nothing to do with any of this. You are talking about something that happened about 27 years ago and my daughter is just 23 now.” Mr. Madison explained with red eyes and Ella, who wasn’t moved at all, asked him a question that almost caused him to urinate in his pants.

“Mr. Madison, I see you are actually admitting the fact that you and your wife did a lot of terrible things 27 years ago” said Ella with a serious face.

“How can you say that Miss? Everyone is prone to mistakes. It was just a mistake and not something we wished had happened.” Mrs. Madison tried explaining but Raisa stepped in.

“Mrs. Madison, it seems you and your husband are talking about a different thing from what my boss is…” Raisa couldn’t finish her words because she was interrupted by Mrs. Madison.

“Raisa or whatever you call yourself, we are talking about the same thing here.”

“Mrs. Madison, my boss is talking about the story around your babies but you and your husband are talking about the pregnancy you termed a mistake?” Said Raisa sarcastically.

“Who are you and why do you know so many things about my husband and I?” Asked Mrs. Madison.

“I’m Raisa, Ella’s Twin Sister.” replied Raisa.

“Raisa, you just spoke about a pregnancy they termed a mistake twenty seven years ago. We are both twenty seven years old, what…?”

Hearing Ella’s question, everyone in the room was stunned including Elion Copper and Raisa’s answer shocked everyone to the core including Maya who looked at her parents as if they were her worst nightmare.

“My lady, the pregnancy they said was a mistake, they tried everything to abort the babies but it didn’t work and at the hospital, the gynaecologists refused to carry out the abortion without any of their parent’s concern because they were still teenagers. So they were forced to keep the pregnancy, and after giving birth to the twin, they discarded one in a trash can and were forced to take one home and that one they took home happens to be called Ella.

“What?” Ella and Elion asked at the same time while others were stunned by the revelation.
