Chapter 368 Owen Is A Prophet
As soon as they saw Hailey come in, Bob and Benson quickly stood up. "Hailey!"
Benson hurriedly ran forward, "You came back! I miss you so much!"
"It's only been a few days and you miss me? Really?” Hailey held up a finger to block Benson's lunge. She glanced at Bob, "Did your dad send you here?"
Bob and Benson nodded in unison with a docile look.
“Have fun while you're here. I'll take care of the meals and lodging and that's it," Hailey said, dashing their hopes. She turned to the housekeeper and said, "Lily, make up two guest rooms for them."
Not knowing what to say, Bob and Benson looked at each other. They failed, they thought. And they still needed Daddy's help.
However, the Mazedew Group was on a razor’s edge. Wade and Jalen hurriedly turned to the older sister, Polly, for help.
Since Owen Moore left, Polly hadn't left the house for a long time, staying in her yard. After a period of rest and recuperation at
Fenneth, she was now in much better condition. But because of the tragedy of her son's death, her condition worsened again and again. Her legs hurt so much that she had to be massaged regularly.
Winnie learned basic massage techniques from Larry at Fenneth. She sat on a stool and massaged Polly. Polly looked as if she didn't hear what her brothers had said. In her hands was an old notebook, a weekly assignment given by Owen's elementary school teacher. Owie was so lively and lovely when he was a kid! How did she make her good son become what he became?
Wade and Jalen labored with her, and their throats seemed to smoke before they got a reply. “Polly, we've been talking for a long time," Wade said and casually took her fan cooling himself. Anxious, seeing that his older sister didn't say anything, he winked at Jalen.
Jalen said, "Polly, we really want to make amends. We can't just let 'Never Lose and Never Forget' fail. You still have a voice at Newsman's. Hailey Newman will give you face."
Polly still didn't look up or say a word. Squinting at Polly's expression, Winnie could not help but say, “It is precisely because Ms. Newman has the right to speak that Ms. Moore cannot do that."
"What do you mean?" Both of them were confused.
"It's not just about the project ‘Never Lose and Never Forget',” Winnie said, “It's about the future of the Mazedew Group. I'm sorry to say something upset you. Neither of you can lead Mazedew Group through this difficult time. Otherwise, Mr. Moore would not have directly passed you and made Owie the successor. In the past, you two were not convinced and felt that Mr. Moore was biased. But it has proved to be true that the development of the Mazedew Group is depressed under your charge.”
Wade and Jalen were about to lose face. It was true that what she had said was unfriendly, but they all knew that it was easier to start a family business, but harder to keep it. If they were the successors, perhaps the Mazedew Group cannot hold up until now. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
"We've been convinced for a long time," Jalen said, "We don't oppose anything that benefits the company and the family. We all believe in Owie’s competence. But he's already gone. The company cannot be destroyed by us."
‘That's why Owie made his will early and made the best arrangements." Winnie said, “Bob and Benson are still young. They need time to grow up. Mr. Moore is old and Ms. Moore is in poor health, so there is little they could do to train them hand-in- hand. The Mazedew Group is now in a serious situation, in a period of transformation and transition. If no one, including you, couldn't take over what Owie had been
doing and a lot of projects he left, then we'll waste all the initial investment. So now we need an excellent professional manager."
"Does it have to be Hailey?" Wade scowled, "I have no prejudice against her. But she’s from the Newman family! She is now the chairman of Crystaldale! It'll be a shame to have the head of the Newman family take over Mazedew Group."
“People will only make fun of us if the Mazedew Group goes down," Abby said as she strode over. Polly looked up. The three of them called out "Mom" in unison. Winnie brought Abby a chair and served her to sit down. Abby sat down and squinted at her two sons.
"You are not as old as I am but much more pedantic than me!"
Wade and Jalen felt aggrieved at her words, standing with hands down.
"I Know you guys aren't satisfied with the decision. But even if you were, Hailey might not be willing to come and pick up the mess.”
Abby knew it, "If Hailey were a member of the Moores, Jacob and I would definitely hand over the Mazedew Group to her. You will get no share of the property. Although she is surnamed Newsman, Jacob, Gillian, and I all regard her as one of our families. The kinship between people does not necessarily need blood to maintain. Owie was a prophet and he left the will because he had anticipated what would happen now."
Abby sighed, "Please don't bother with your sister. It's hard enough for her. It's your fault, and you have to deal with it. Stop nagging. Please go to Poya and get your sons back!" Wade and Jalen were berated, and depressed. They had no choice but to bite the bullet and buy tickets to Poya. After they left, Abby said to Polly, "Please stop moaning for Owie. We have a guest."
Polly looked up, “A guest?”
"He is from Fenneth.” Abby smiled and continued, "His surname is Dyson.”
Polly changed color, Dyson? Did he come back?!
Hailey was too busy to play with Bob and Benson, so she trusted them to her brother Brook Kirkland. Brook was idle. His life was all beer and skittles. Then he played with the boys.
The mid-autumn Festival was coming. Mall activities need to be arranged as soon as possible. Hailey and Ryker Page made a tour of counters in major shopping malls in Poya. All the details are carefully examined.
"The malls in other cities need to be on the lookout, too. The kinds of problems that arise here must occur elsewhere. The problems that have been identified need to be corrected. There can be no mistake.” said Hailey as she walked.
Ryker said, "I will work it out." Under the escalator, Hailey went blank and almost fell. Ryker held her immediately.
“Be careful!" Ryker hurried down a step with an embrace protecting Hailey. Her face was full of anxiety and concern, "Are you all right?"
Hailey reached for the handle. Her face was pale. She shook her head, "It's okay."
Down the escalator, Ryker held Hailey to a bench for rest. The life assistant handed over a bottle of water. Hailey was so skinny that her chin was pointed. Even with makeup on, her face was still pale. Ryker looked at Hailey, so distressed. She asked the assistant, “Has Ms. Newman had a meal today?"
"Ms. Newman had a cup of coffee this morning and hasn't eaten anything since noon," the assistant said cautiously.
Ryker's face hardened at the words. "She ate nothing all day, so she fainted. Don’t you know that she has low blood sugar? What on earth are you doing!"
Ryker had always been gentle and rarely got angry. The assistant shivered with fright, and her eyes were full of fright.
“Alright, stop scolding her. She prepared meals for me. But I didn't want to eat anything.” After drinking some water, Hailey calmed down for a while. She stood up and said, ‘There are still a few shopping malls that haven't been inspected. Let's go.”
TH arrange for someone else to deal with it. Your health is the most important. You shall eat first!" Ryker was powerful and bossy once in a blue moon in front of Hailey.
