Chapter 555 Let's Drink Spirits!

Carla and Violet were talking avidly, so they didn't notice that William had come in with Theo.

"So you haven't seen William since you left him, have you?"

Carla asked with a sigh after looking at Violet and seeing how sad she looked.

Violet shook her head and answered, "No, I haven't seen him since. Carla, do you have any idea, how

I'm feeling? I don't hate that woman who destroyed my relationship with William.

But I hate him for letting her come between us.

His love for me was not enough, so we couldn't overcome the challenge lying in front of us. Even if I

were to forgive him, probably another woman would show up. As the saying goes, once a cheater,

always a cheater! I'm sure he would make the same choice next time. So I left him!"

Violet smiled with teary eyes. She then added, "Now, I know our love would not last forever. So I think I

shouldn't keep wasting my time being with him!"

"But it's been almost five years since you left him. How do you know if his love for you hasn't

changed?"

Carla stretched out her hand and patted Violet on the back, trying to comfort her.

Carla also hadn't seen William for a long time but, last time they met four years ago, she could tell that

William had realized how much he loved Violet.

Some people were like this. When they had someone in their lives, they wouldn't think about them too

much.

But once they lose this person, they would find out that they loved that person more than they could

imagine. Carla now thought that William was just this kind of person.

"Anyway, let's forget about it! I'm living a good life now. My job is stable and my son is obedient. And

the best thing is that I don't have to rely on men!" Violet laughed, pretending to be indifferent. She

raised the glass in her hand and asked, "Carla, are you going to have a drink with me or not?"

"Of course I am!"

Carla answered without hesitation. She then raised her glass and cheered with Violet.

As this strong drink passed through her throat, she frowned with disgust. This was a very strong

alcoholic drink and she wasn't used to it. She couldn't help but ask, "Wow, Violet! I thought it was white

wine! What the hell is in this glass? Are you drinking spirits now?"

That glass looked just like a glass of white wine, and that was why Carla had grabbed it without

blinking.

"Wine?! No, no, no, that's not fun! We rarely meet, so we must drink something stronger!"

Violet took a sip, put down the glass and pointed to a bottle of spirits saying, "That bottle of spirits was

made by an old man whom I met in my workplace. It is strong but you won't feel uncomfortable after

drinking it. It will not give you a hangover. Come on! Let's enjoy our drinks!

And I still brought two bottles for you. Take them with you when you leave."

Carla looked at the bottle without any appetite for it and said, "Violet, this spirit is too strong and spicy. I

think we'd better drink something else."

"No way! I want to drink this today! Sometimes, the bitterness in people's heart must be comforted by

the spice and strength of the spirits. So, today, this is all I am going to drink!"

Violet said, raising up her glass and having another gulp.

Since Violet was so determined, Carla didn't have the heart to refuse her and decided to accompany

Violet.

The two friends were enjoying their drinks while talking and laughing.

While behind them, there were three men sitting not very far from them.

Theo shook the wine glass in his hand and tasted it. Noticing that Terence was glancing at the bar from

shooting glances at the bar?

Terence thought Theo should meet Carla because they hadn't seen each other since Carla came back.

immediately stood up and said to William, "Bro, wait a moment. I'll go there for a while!"

Then Theo grabbed his red wine glass and followed Terence.

Carla, who was drinking spirits and chatting happily, looked up and saw Terence walking towards her

gracefully with a red wine glass in his hand.

"Carla!" Terence called her.

"My dear husband, you arrived just in time! Hurry up! Sit down! Drink this for me or you will have to

carry me!"

Carla pulled Terence's arm, stood up to give him her sit and then put her glass of spirits in front of him.

This spirit was too strong! She hadn't drunk anything so strong before so it was getting a little hard for

her to drink too much.

He looked at the red wine in his hand and then quietly put his wine down.

"Mr. Terence, long time no see. Your wife doesn't like drinking spirits, so she can't keep up with me.

Violet filled Terence's glass and raised her glass for a toast.

Terence frowned and looked at his fully filled glass. Then, he glanced at Carla and saw her cheeks

flushed after drinking two glasses.

He didn't hesitate and drank it all at once with a frown.

"Wow, Carla, your husband is really cool!"

Violet boasted and filled his glass again.

"Of course! My man can drink! A glass of spirits is just water for him."

"Hello, Mr. Theo! Come on! Let's have a drink together!"

Theo noticed Carla's enthusiasm so he didn't refuse her. He turned to Violet and said, "Madam, do you

mind if sit beside you?"

Violet moved indicating that he could sit down.

Theo then sat beside Violet and said to Carla, "I think I should propose a toast in your honor. Four

years has passed. It's really worth celebrating to see you back!"

"Really?! Then, let's drink!" Carla said excitedly.

She then grinned and added, "You came at the right time. Violet was just complaining that no one could

drink with her."

Then, she turned to Violet and introduced them, "Violet, this is Mr. Theo. Since you two have the fate to

meet each other, you should drink together!"

Violet stood up to face Theo and introduced herself.

"Hi! Mr. Theo, my name is Violet. I'm Carla's friend!"

The four of them all stood up and had a drink together.

Back at the table, William was sitting alone and waiting for Theo to come back, noticing these four

people together celebrating.

It was a little noisy inside the pub so he couldn't hear what they were talking about. But he saw Carla

sitting there.

William originally thought Theo was drinking with Terence's second wife Lucy, so he didn't follow them.

But when he saw Carla, he stood up and planned to walk up to meet them.

Carla was Violet's friend and he had also met Carla before, so he thought he should go and say hi.

Four years ago, news about Carla had been spread all round JA City. Especially when people knew

beside Theo.
