Love Me The Way I Did

Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Margaret turned around and saw an unfamiliar face. She frowned and asked rudely, “What’s the matter, sir?”

If it weren’t for that he was tall, Margaret would have given him a shoulder throw. Touching women at will could be regarded as sexual

harassment.

“An elegant lady should not be soaked in a heavy rain,” the man said with a smile, revealing his eight white teeth.

if it were other women, they would definitely feel that they had met the handsome true love of their lives on this romantic rainy day, but Margaret was destined to be different. She only thought that it was not her lucky day and that she had run into a psycho.

“So?” Margaret shook off his hand and took a step back, looking at him vigilantly.

“This umbrella is for you.” The man was holding an umbrella, which made Margaret a little confused. She wondered, “Is a stranger giving me

his umbrella?

Glancing at Margaret’s confused look, the man smiled and stuffed the umbrella into her hand. “Hurry up and go home.” After saying that, he ran into the rain without even waiting for a word of thanks.

Margaret looked at the man’s back for a long time. She hadn’t felt the warmth from a stranger for a long time. Thinking of the man’s smile just now, she felt a little ashamed. He looked handsome and charming when he smiled, and she shouldn’t have seen him as a pervert.

If she had another chance to meet him again, she would thank him and apologize to him.

When Margaret walked into the rain with the umbrella, two cars were watching her not far away.

Gideon looked unhappily at Margaret’s brisk steps and felt that his arrival was just a joke. He thought, ‘She has so many knights in shining armor. My care counts for nothing.”

In the other car, the man, who just gave Margaret an umbrella, showed a scheming expression. ‘Roxanne, I’ll definitely help you get what you want and remove those obstacles. These days of waiting are not in vain. Finally, I got the chance,” he thought

Although it was raining heavily, Margaret wasn’t in a hurry to go home. She was like an elf in the rain, strolling and occasionally jumping over the small puddles, not like a woman in her thirties but simply a girl full of curiosity about the world.

Gideon asked the driver to follow her. The happier Margaret felt, the gloomier he was

They had been separated for five years, and Gideon knew nothing about what Margaret had gone through during those years. The feeling of missing out made him panic for a moment. ‘I wonder how many times Margaret smiled at other men without me knowing. Could someone have taken my place in her heart?‘ he thought.

Five years ago, Gideon had sensed the change in her feelings for him before Margaret realized it.

Gideon was proud and took it for granted as he watched and enjoyed it. He was confident that he would meet Margaret again. He could see the feelings in her eyes at the party that day. However, inexplicably, looking at the scene earlier, he felt a little uncertain.

“Mr. Compton, the rain is getting heavier,” the driver reminded Gideon in a low voice. He hadn’t worked for the latter for a long time, only a year, but he was the one who could read his thoughts well. He knew that Gideon had recently taken an interest in Margaret, who was unlike any other woman.

The rain is getting heavier. That girl will surely get wet, and Gideon will be in a worse mood by that time, won’t he?” the driver wondered.

“Okay. Take me home,” Gideon said. The driver was surprised but didn’t ask further. He turned the steering wheel and drove in another

direction.
