Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 276

Chapter 276

Everyone in the room froze, their eyes locked on him in sheer disbelief.

Dagmar's pupils shrank, and his face turned as pale as a sheet.

Everard, while speaking, took a step forward, approaching the two Italians, and began to engage in a simple conversation: "I'm so sorry my girlfriend blocked your way; it's because there's been a change in plans."

Steve blinked, then responded, "What kind of change?"

Everard smiled, one hand in his pocket, the other casually adjusting his tie. Standing taller than the two Italians, his voice carried a certain maic depth, an unspoken aristocratic charm: "Is it the shipping costs that you're objecting to?"

Steve paused, then nodded. "Of course, the shipping costs are a significant expense for us."

Everard smiled. "What if Mr. Delaney were to cover the shipping costs, would you agree then?"

Steve nodded again. "Yes, we would!"Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

After securing Steve and his companion, Everard turned to Sanderson and slowly began, "Uncle, Steve mentioned that the deal fell through because you weren't willing to cover the shipping costs, which are a significant expense for them."

At this, Sanderson was stunned. "But I said that the Delaney Group would cover the shipping costs!"

Everard glanced at Dagmar before finally turning to Cordelia, his expression seeking approval. He didn't speak but stood by Cordelia's side, clearly supporting her account.

Sanderson, quickly catching on to Everard's implication, was baffled. He abruptly turned to Dagmar: "You..."

Dagmar, realizing her situation, quickly interjected: "No, Mr. Delaney, my translation was absolutely accurate. I did say our company would cover the shipping costs!"

Right after her words, a recording was played, first by one phone and then another.

The group turned to see Cordelia and Everard holding their phones, playing back the negotiation's recording.

Both were stunned, with Everard quickly pausing his recording, leaving only Cordelia's phone playing.

They exchanged glances, Everard asking in a low voice, "You recorded it too?"

Cordelia, pride flickering in her eyes, replied with a slight smirk, "Of course."

Seeing her slightly smug expression, revealing a childlike side, Everard chuckled softly.

Cordelia, mimicking him, said, "So, you speak Italian."

Everard: "Of course, love isn't the only thing I'm good at."

Cordelia: "..."

Is there no way around this?!

But on reflection, Everard was indeed remarkable - gaming, solving math problems, and speaking Italian.

While she pondered, the recording finished playing.

Cordelia put away her phone, her expression indifferent as she turned to Dagmar: "If you still insist I've wronged you, we could always get another Italian speaker to translate, couldn't we?"

But what was there to translate?

Dagmar knew she was exposed, biting her lip before scoffing, "Fine, I admit to a mistake in translation, Mr. Delaney. I can resign right now."

No loss had been incurred, so the Delaney Group couldn't fault her!

Sanderson, his brow furrowed, a seasoned player in the business world, was still reeling from betrayal.

But being straightforward, he quickly figured out a solution, saying, "The truth is out, there's no other way now. Dagmar, you've been with me for years, you know me. Just tell me who put you up to this?"

Dagmar glanced at Kermit.

Kermit immediately shrank back, glaring warningly at Dagmar.

Dagmar sighed, "No one directed me."

Sanderson then said, "Dagmar, with this recording, I could sue you for deliberately harming the company. I could even blame the failed deals on you. Are you sure you won't tell the truth?"

Dagmar hesitated.

Sanderson continued, "You've been with me for years; I don't want to know why you betrayed me. Just say who it was, and I can write you a recommendation letter so you won't struggle to find work."

Being an executive assistant required capability.

Why she left her previous company would definitely stir rumors in the industry.

If Dagmar was fired for mistranslating intentionally, damaging her employer's interests, she'd struggle to find a good job!

Sanderson, known for keeping his

word, offered her a way out. Not only

would he not report her, but he would also help her find a good job. Dagmar weighed her options for a few seconds, then decisively said, "It was Mr. Delaney."

At this, Sanderson's gaze turned to Kermit with fury.

Steward was also shocked, unable to believe it.

Kermit immediately protested, "Don't you dare slander me!"

Rachel joined in, "Yeah, just because she says it's Mr. Delaney? I could say she's lying too! Mom, you can't believe her, she's just trying to drive a wedge between brothers!"

Laurinda, irrationally siding with Kermit, exclaimed, "Boss, why even listen to her? You're not seriously considering using this to push your brother out, are you?"

Sanderson watched the unfolding scene, caught between laughter and tears.

When Kermit was aggressively confronting him earlier, where was their support for him?

Laurinda always said her heart belonged to her immediate circle, not the extended family...

But when the chips were down, the only ones who truly had his back were Cordelia and Lorna!

He turned to Steward, "Dad, what do you think?"

His father's eyes flickered briefly before he played peacemaker, "Well, there's no concrete proof, son. Besides, Mr. Steve's issue has been sorted, and the contract talks can proceed. Let's just let this one slide... This Dagmar, first she betrayed you, now she's trying to undermine Kermit. She's no good. We can't take her word for it!"

Kermit immediately nodded, "Exactly, Dad, big bro, you've got to believe me. How could I possibly harm our company?"

Laurinda lashed out at Dagmar,

"You're nothing but trouble. Back in

the day, people lived by the rule 'one woman, one husband,' yet here you are, blowing whichever way the wind does Brother, she ought to be thrown in jail!"

At that, Dagmar scoffed, "Mr. Delaney, do you really think I'd make a move without proof?"
