“I’m heading to work now. You can relax at home.”
Randy had just finished his breakfast. Accompanied by Ghea to the door, he prepared to leave for the office.
“I’m sure you’ll miss being able to peek into Uncle’s office or hang out there as usual,” Ghea complained with a gloomy face. For almost two months of interning at Randy’s office, she had gotten used to spending the whole day meeting and interacting with her husband.
“Don’t be sad like that. I’ll be thinking about you at the office. Or, how about this. What if we have lunch together later?”
“Yes!” Ghea replied immediately, nodding her head. The girl responded enthusiastically to her husband’s invitation. “Should I pick up Uncle from the office or what? Anyway, I really want to meet Uncle for lunch later.”
Randy laughed. Fondly, he cupped Ghea’s reddened cheeks. He was somewhat surprised to see Ghea acting so spoiled. Her behavior was indeed very different from before.
Usually, Ghea often hesitated to express her feelings or what she was currently experiencing. But lately, Ghea was different. His wife was not shy about expressing her longing, and more extremely, she was not ashamed to initiate intimacy with Randy. It was aggressive, but regardless of the changes in Ghea, Randy really liked it.
“Later, ask the driver to pick me up first at the office, okay? Then, we can go to the place you want to eat. Whatever you want to eat for lunch, I’ll take you to all the places you want to visit.”
“Then… after eating, can I stay in the office with Uncle until the end of the working hours?”
“Of course, dear,” Randy responded while leaning his face forward. He gave a brief kiss to Ghea’s lips, then continued, “Today, I don’t have much work either. So, I can go home early. Tonight, if you want, we can go watch a movie? It’s the weekend tomorrow, and I don’t have work.”
Ghea nodded repeatedly. Delighted with the offer Randy had been suggesting to her.
“Also, I’ll treat you to ice cream, okay? I’ve been wanting it since yesterday.”
“Okay, sure. I’ll buy you everything you want and crave,” he said, gently stroking Ghea’s freely flowing hair. “Well, I’m heading to work now. Later, around noon, you can pick me up at the office.”
“Yes, got it. Then, hug me first so I won’t miss you too much.”
Randy smiled. He stretched out his arms and reached for Ghea’s body to pull her into his embrace. Holding her tightly. As if reluctant to let her go. Allowing his wife to enjoy the warmth of his body from the embrace he gave.
“Seriously, I have to work now,” Randy said as he slowly released the hug. Even though he knew Ghea seemed unwilling to let him go, Randy tried to assure her that they would meet again in the afternoon. “We’ll meet again this afternoon, and you can be satisfied with me.”
Reluctantly, Ghea let go of Randy. Letting her husband go to work as usual.
Once at the office, as usual, Randy completed his tasks one by one. Fortunately, today he didn’t have many deadlines to meet.
“Ran, where’s your phone? I called you 10 times, and you didn’t pick up. If it’s broken, just tell me, and I’ll buy you a new one.”
Entering the room without knocking or asking for permission, Darwin’s figure appeared at the door. He wore a slightly annoyed expression because his calls since this morning had received no response from Randy, his cousin.
Randy himself, in his seat, seemed indifferent. He continued to focus on reading the piles of documents on his desk.
“Hey, Randy, you deaf?” Darwin said, tapping on Randy’s desk surface. Hoping to get some attention from his cousin.
“Randy!” Darwin called again, this time with a louder voice.
“What’s up, Win? Can’t you see I’m busy?” Randy replied, momentarily stopping his activities. He redirected his gaze towards Darwin. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Dude, you’re totally ignoring me. I’ve been calling you, why didn’t you answer?”
Randy sighed. Pausing his work, he looked at Darwin.
“Most likely, you called me for something unimportant. If it’s crucial, you usually come to my office like this.”
“Damn, you really are like this!” Darwin exclaimed in frustration. He took a seat on the chair in front of Randy, loosening his tie to relieve the tightness around his neck. “If there’s nothing important, I wouldn’t have called you repeatedly.”
“What’s up, then? Just say it, Win,” Randy replied without beating around the bush. Besides, he was busy. He didn’t have time to deal with trivial matters that Darwin might bring up.
“It’s about Velfire. The CEO suddenly contacted me and Kennedy yesterday.”
Randy nodded casually. He listened nonchalantly to what Darwin was telling him.
“And then? What does it have to do with me?”
“Why are you asking if it has something to do with you?” Darwin wondered, starting to get confused. “They’re your business partners. Why did they suddenly contact me and Kennedy with requests for apologies and all kinds of apologies to convey to you? What’s really going on?”
“There’s no problem at all,” Randy replied, maintaining a calm facial expression.
“No,” Darwin shook his head. “I’m sure there’s something. Seriously, Ran. What’s the problem? I’m your cousin. We’ve known each other since birth.”
Randy laughed. He couldn’t keep any problems or anything from Kennedy and Darwin.
“I unilaterally canceled the partnership with Velfire.”
“What? Unilateral cancellation? What did they do wrong that made you cancel it like that?”
Darwin was surprised and curious at the same time. He knew exactly what kind of person Randy was. His cousin was very professional when it came to work.
If there was something bothering him or something that didn’t fit, Randy usually discussed or negotiated it properly. Except for situations or problems that had become intolerable, Randy usually didn’t want to negotiate anymore.
