” Yeah, tell Lily that she should set the readings. We’ll be meeting in a few” I was giving out instructions when Chance walked in.

” And inform Ir-Miss Jules to get ready too. Thanks”

I wasn’t given the opportunity to keep the office line down before Chance began to hit me with his question.

” So when was I going to hear that you had an accident from you and not your hot receptionist two weeks after?”

People have really got to stop sharing info about me without my consent.

” Well I guess I don’t need to tell you anymore” I said with enough sly in my words.

” What’s up with you?” He says after taking a seat across me.

” Oh.. that”

” Yes that” I scoffed as I rose to my feet and adjusted the suit cuffs at my wrist.

” Dude I’m sorry okay? She needed to know what she’s getting herself into. Honestly, she was gonna get you killed!”

” Chance a secret. Is a secret” I smothered down my suit jacket and displayed a fake smile.

” Are you really angry I told her?” A smirk slowly forming on his lips.

I arched a brow at his change in demeanor.

” Yes I’m angry. No one was supposed to know not even you”

” Oh? Well are you mad?”

Chance is gonna leave here with a black eye soon.

” What is your problem?” I walked around my table to his side with a hand in my pocket.

” My problem? Nah.. I think you should be asking my reason” his smirk just grew by an inch.

How was that even possible?

” Your reason for what? Asking me such stupid questions?”

” Exactly” a grin stretched on his face as he was comfortably seated.

” Wipe that smile off your face before I do it for you!. Why are you asking me idiotic questions?” This morning isn’t the best time to get me confused.

He seriously chuckled and that only got my confusion from a level two to a level ten.

” I’m asking cause the Hunter I know would have kicked me out the second I got here if he was truly angry” he continued whilst rubbing his stubble.

” You’re a waste of time” I began marching out of the office but he called me to a stop.

” Look bro, I’m sorry alright? It’s just that I can’t sit back and watch you die. If at all you should die, I thought we would die together after we get caught banging all the girls of the Czech republic”

I actually laughed. Damn he’s right, I ain’t mad.

I turned around to find him standing with amusement in his eyes.

” You, are a man whore” my laughter still threatening to escape.

” But you love me”

” No I don’t”

He takes moderate steps to where I stood before patting my shoulder twice and speaking.

” You do”

I laughed again and brushed his arms off me.

” Now you can leave. I have a meeting to attend”

” Okay, but really. Why didn’t you push me out if you were really angry?”

” I’ve learnt not to kill people at first sight. Not that I wasn’t tempted”

” Oh? And may I know who is responsible for this lesson? Though I have a hunch” his smirk was brewing again.

” Stupidity is never too far from you is it?” I glared with unbelief.

” Hey.. I never named anyone, you just assumed”

Yeah, only assumption with a bright smile on your face.

” Take your airhead fifty miles away from me”

” I will. Soon though. What about Mr Reid? Any news?”

” He texted to meet on Friday but we didn’t”

” Why? He changed his mind?”

” Nah, I kinda needed a raincheck on events so I called to reschedule”

” And he agreed?”

” Yup. He said we’ll talk at his upcoming party”

” That seems fair. What about Michelle?”

Honestly, her name made me chuckle cause I remember our last conversation before she started avoiding me.

” Michelle doesn’t want to see me right now” I sighed.

” Then what’s so funny? I’m talking about Michelle Reid. You know, the one you love?” His brows arched as he awaited my reply.

” What’s funny is the last conversation we had. She accused me of fucking Jules”

Then Chance asked the unusual.

” Are you?”

I really can’t believe my ears. Did he just ask if I am?

” Bloody hell Chance, why do you even need to ask that?”

” I don’t know. You’ve lived with the girl for almost three months and you’re literally not the most faithful person”

” Chance for heaven’s sake. That girl has a kid. I’m not into married women”

” What makes you think she’s married? She never made mention”

” She’s got a little girl. That’s enough boundary for me”

” Okay, okay. But you’ve got to clear Michelle on this. It ain’t pretty”

” Yeah.. I was thinking about speaking to her at the event”

Chance only nodded and wanted to say something else when my phone’s ringing stopped him.

It was Dad.

I sent an apologetic look to Chance who in turn smiled and mouthed a ‘ you still owe me an explanation for your accident. be careful’before leaving with a pat on my shoulder.

So I was able to pick up the call.

” Hey Dad. Good morning”I glanced at my watch then stepping out of my office to fetch Iris for the meeting.

” Morning son. How’s your shoulder?”

” It’s good. Very good actually”

And that’s the truth. Iris honestly knows how to carry out an effective therapy.

I mean, my previous therapist spends most of the time flirting with me so I quit going, but Iris has been administering the treatment since Friday and I’ve felt a relief by today being Monday.

Even though she’s been avoiding every form of body contact ever since she thanked me for getting hard for her.

Now that’s a moment I wish I had on tape.

I chuckled on the phone before dad responded.

” Your therapist? And what’s funny?”

What’s with everyone and asking me that?

” Nope. Miss Jules actually and nothing is, just remembered something”

” Miss Jules? You let her touch you?” He seemed really surprised.

I laughed at his shock and arrived at iris’s office door, opening it gently before I spoke again.

” Yeah. She wasn’t so bad after all” lifting my eyes, I see Iris typing something on her laptop but she raised her head once she noticed another presence in the room and glared at the intruder.

I only showed her my watch on my wrist as a signal to which she understood easily and started packing up.

” Oh, so you’ll let her now?” Dad was still wary of my actions.

I like that, it kinda makes me unpredictable.

Sometimes.

” Yeah.. possibly” I replied when Iris started approaching the door.

I walked out now that I was sure she was following me and walked to the elevator.

” Good. What are you up to now?” He asks through the phone.

Iris falls in step with me and we walked into the elevator simultaneously as she presses the floor number.

” Having a meeting with Nourmount industries. On my way there currently”

” Is miss Jules with you?”

He had to ask.

” Yup. Right here”

The doors to the elevator open and we walk out, taking purposeful strides down the hall.

I sent nods and waves to employees who greeted me down the hall while Iris silently responded with good morning’s and dad went ahead highlighting necessary questions that I should ask the manager of Nourmount.

Iris opens the door and holds it open for me to step in, whereas the other party involved were currently seated.

On our arrival they stood to their feet and I exchange handshakes with the two men present. The second, I assume to be the secretary.

” You ready for the meeting?” My dad finally says as he finalised his opinions.

” Yes Dad. I’ll keep you informed”

” Good. Take care son” I hear the beep before I was able to give my own reply.

After safely securing my phone in my back pocket I turn to the audience before me.

” Sorry gentlemen for keeping you waiting” the two men dismissed the slip up making me speak again.

” Shall we begin?” With nods of affirmation, everyone started to take their seats and Iris went to sit at the extreme end with the other secretary.

” Uhm.. miss Jules? You’ll be seating by my side” I called her attention and at first she was not sure if I meant what I had said but when I pat the seat beside me, a smile crosses her features and she walks up to take the seat.

” Mr Mukesh, Mr Nathan. This is my secretary miss Jules”
