Love's Redemption

Redmption 67

Redmption 67

“Ms. Crown?” Brandon suddenly called out.

I quickly came back to my senses and turned around. I didn’t know when Kara, Brandon, and the technician had shown up behind me.

I didn’t know if I was overthinking it, but Brandon’s expression looked colder than usual. I couldn’t help but wonder if something was wrong. “Did you find something wrong with our equipment?”

“I’ve already asked another technician to go amend it,” he replied coldly. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

I nodded in reply. I was about to ask what needed to be done now when he said, “We won’t be debugging the lights today.”

“What?” I was taken aback.

The technician in charge immediately said, “There’s something wrong with the wiring voltage. We need to fix that first.”

I frowned when I heard that. “How long will that take?”

“We’ll be able to complete it today.”

I let out a sigh of relief inwardly. I was terrified that it would take three to five, days.

I

“Is there anything else I need to do?” I asked, looking at Brandon.

“No.”

I frowned slightly. Kara spoke up before I could and asked, “Are you saying we’re done for the day? Can we leave work early?”

“Yes. You guys can go do other things for today. I’ll contact you guys if anything comes up.“I hadn’t expected Brandon’s answer.

I thought we would be burning the midnight oil once Brandon arrived, but we ended up taking almost half a day off.

Before I could say anything, Brandon and the technician in charge had already left.

Kara whispered to me, “Maddie, after leaving Mr. Gildon, you’re quite the

magnet.”

“What do you mean?” I didn’t understand her.

“First, you got a hug from Mr. Howell. Just now we saw another hot guy patting you on the head. You’re due for a relationship soon!” Kara said, causing me to roll my eyes.

“Stop right there. This is the last time, okay? If you ever bring up things that are unrelated to work during work hours, I will deduct 10% from your bonus each. time,” I said, bringing out the big guns.

If I didn’t threaten her that way, I could guarantee that she would read into every single interaction I had with Brandon from then onwards.

She immediately closed her mouth and looked at me with a deflated stare.

Brandon wanted us to go back to the hotel, but I couldn’t possibly do that. Even though we weren’t debugging the lighting that same day, any little issue could

have an effect on the lights.

I went to the amusement park’s general office and sat down to study the map of the lighting. I went through all of the issues that had popped up and even studied the aerial shots of the amusement park.

I only went back to the hotel with Brandon and the others once they were done.

“Have you booked a room for Mr. Howell as well?” I asked Kara.

“Yes. All he needs to do is register with his ID,” she said, reaching her hand out to Brandon. She clearly wanted him to pass her his ID so she could register for

him.

“I’ll do it myself,” Brandon said, going to the front desk.

Kara watched him walk away. “He’s handsome and aloof. How much more attractive can this guy get?”

She then looked at me quickly. The moment she met my gaze, she said, “It’s after working hours, Maddie.”

A crush was as dependent on personal taste as a hobby. I couldn’t say anything to her about it.

“Let’s go upstairs,” I said as I walked toward the elevator.

I suddenly heard Brandon’s voice piping up, “What’s your room number, Ms.

Crown?”

I was stunned by his question.

Kara replied before I could stop her. “306!”

Right after she said that, Brandon said to the receptionist, “Please give me a room opposite or next to 306.”

I remained silent.

Kara’s eyes widened. “M–Maddie-”

I nudged her firmly, indicating for her not to embarrass herself or me. I remained where I was. I wanted to ask what exactly Brandon meant by asking for a room so close to mine.
