Chapter 46 I Don't Like That Jerk
Chapter 46 I Don't Like That Jerk
Caleb took a long time to calm down, but even so he left work half an hour earlier than normal.
When Caleb arrived at Rosenfeld Hill, Eva had just returned, and Caleb walked through the door and
looked around, but there was no sign of Eva in the living room, and as his face darkened, he suddenly
heard something in the kitchen.
"The company is not busy today? Just wait a few minutes for dinner." Eva heard the sound of the door
opening and asked loudly as she worked on her dishes.
Without hearing a sound or Caleb's reply, Eva turned and glanced at Caleb, who was standing at the
kitchen door.
"What's the matter? Hungry?" Eva was busy making the last dish and didn't notice Caleb's difference.
Caleb looked at the busy figure in the kitchen, mixed feelings in his heart, thinking about how she
would cook for another man, smile for another man, all he could think of was to keep her here forever.
"Eva, he already has a fiancée," Caleb said suddenly.
Eva was confused, "Who?"
"Mr. Gallagher, your childhood sweetheart," Caleb fumed as his suspicions flared.
Eva didn't know why Caleb would bring up Brody, that piece of shit, and say that she was going to get
back together with him.
Eva didn't think that she was so cheap and disgusting in his eyes.
"Yes, he is handsome, powerful, and rich. Why should I give up this cash cow? I can't wait to go with
him now." Eva threw her apron away angrily and ran out the door.
Eva walked out in anger, there are only mansions in the area, and it was hard to get a taxi. She was
walking aimlessly, the tears that she was holding back when she was in front of Caleb, now was
coming out freely.
Eva felt particularly aggrieved. How would Caleb think of her like that? Someone who could sell
everything for money, from marriage to freedom, dignity included.
It was hard to stop a car, Eva had no place to vent her anger, so she went straight to the Crown Halo,
and no one could control herself now anyway.
When she walked into the bar, the deafening sound was so loud that it was as if she had been
transported back to her life a few years ago.
During her first year abroad, Eva frequented the bars, playing until midnight every day and staying up Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
all night all the time.
That year was the darkest period of her life, thrown abroad by her own parents, with no one to turn to,
studying at a trash university, and no one to care about her life. Maybe the Sommers family would like
her to die abroad and never come back.
Thinking about that, Eva felt sad, twenty-something was supposed the most prime of her life but has
already tasted the bittersweet of life.
Drink after drink, the spicy taste did not ease the pain in her heart; she just wanted to get drunk, not to
think about anything, to forget all these troublesome things.
How long had it been since she had been this drunk? Before when Renee would arrange a dinner
meeting for her, she had to drink, but after drinking, she would rush to the bathroom to vomit, she must
always stay sober, otherwise, she would have been sold many times by now.
Eva was already stunning, and her bare face was even more attractive. Now she was sitting there by
herself, drinking wildly, and the eyes of the surrounding dudes have not moved since Eva came in.
"Hey, beautiful, what's the point of drinking here by yourself, come, I can drink with you." The guy was
none other than Hartvenport's notorious playboy, Dan Kilmer, who was always lingering in bars and
clubs and between women, not doing anything else, he was going to put his hand on Eva's.
Eva raised her eyes and glared at him, full of disdain.
Nearby people heckle, saying that Mr. Kilmer could have any woman he wants, but Eva didn't know
better and could not appreciate his attention, and that Mr. Kilmer should teach her a lesson.
When Caleb came in, he saw several people were pulling Eva, and Eva didn't want to go with them, so
she was putting up a fight.
His face immediately turned, and he glared at the men who were holding Eva. The bodyguards behind
him came forward to subdue the men. Caleb Strode out of the Crown Halo with a drunken Eva in his
arms.
From behind came screams like pigs were being slaughtered.
In the Rolls Royce, Eva waved her hands and shouted, "boss, get me another drink, hurry up."
Caleb rubbed his forehead as he drove and watched the drunken Eva.
Fortunately, after she ran out, he arranged for someone to follow her in advance, otherwise, he didn't
know what would happen.
"Ok, ok. I'll drink with you when we get home. Just sit down."
When they got home, Caleb took Eva back to the bedroom and found a towel to wipe her face with.
"Caleb, that jerk, why would he say that about me? How could I still like that scumbag?"
Caleb's hand on the towel paused, and his eyes lit up. She didn't like Brody, which meant she probably
won't be leaving Rosenfeld Hill.
Inexplicable Joy made Caleb's face, which was dark all day, lit up.
"You mean you don't like Brody?" Caleb was afraid that he heard it wrong, and he couldn't resist
reconfirming it.
"No, I don't like that bastard." Eva stared at Caleb with big innocent eyes.
Caleb was relieved to be sure again.
He wasn't saying he didn't have the confidence to compete with Brody, but he was afraid that Brody
would be too important in Eva's mind. After all, love was a tricky thing, he was afraid of Brody being her
first love.
"Caleb, you bastard!" Eva cursed and waved her fist as if she was going to war. Caleb had never seen
a drunken Eva before and thought she was so cute when she was drunk and crazy.
If his brother Nathan knew about this, he would probably think he was crazy.
Because she was drunk, Eva's cheeks were covered with a layer of pink, even the exposed neck
turned pink, lips slightly pouting, shirt unbuttoned two, could barely catch a glimpse of her chest...
Caleb felt an inexplicable feeling swarming through his body, just looking at her, he could not hold it.
Such a seductive little nymph.
Damn!
Caleb tried to hold it in and continued to wipe Eva's face, but Eva was not behaving and put her arm
around Caleb's neck as he came down. Caleb didn't expect Eva to do something like this, and then, out
of the blue, he fell right on top of Eva.
The shallow breathing sound, brushing through his ears, which instantly turned as red as a tomato, and
his one hand accidentally touch Eva's soft...
The strong willpower that he had broken down instantly!
Caleb felt that his body had long been screaming to explode, and Eva tightened her arm again, and
their bodies were pressed together tightly.
Desire was burning in his eyes, and he cursed lowly, "Eva, you brought this on yourself!"
