Chapter 86 Not Being Trusted
Chapter 86 Not Being Trusted
Caleb remained on his seat motionlessly until he heard these words.
"You said, giving Brody Gallagher back to Eva?" Caleb said in a low and hoarse voice, "Who's he to
Eva?"
His sound used to be quite gentle and warm. but now it would inspire a sense of fear in one's mind.
"He's nobody… No, that's not what I mean…" Penelope Gordon explained hastily, "He was Eva's
boyfriend five years ago and at that time Eva was pregnant."
Only at this moment did Eva realize that Penelope didn't come here for a talk but come here to slander
her in the face of Caleb.
And the timing was also good. Now their relationship kept getting worse and worse.
"Oh, was he?" Caleb sneered and scorn was written in his eyes.
"That's why I would say these words to Eva. I do that for Eva's sake." Penelope thought Caleb had
believed her so she chose to continue to slander Eva.
"I think you've thought too highly of your daughter."
"Mr. Livingstone, I..." Eva was stunned and tried to explain to Caleb subconsciously, only to saw Caleb
having an unconcerned glimpse at her. Then she remained silent.
It was quite uncomfortable to be doubted. Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
"Okay, Mr. Gordon, now I've heard enough and I hope I won't see you anymore," Caleb made his order
for guests to leave.
"All I said was true, Mr. Livingstone! And please consider my suggestion, Eva. Brody still loves you. If
your baby were still alive, he must be now as tall as that child," Penelope pointed at William while
saying.
But the housekeeper still forced her to leave.
With Caleb's attitude and the child who she lost five years ago in mind; Eva couldn't eat anything
anymore so she threw the piece of toast onto her plate before she left with a pale face.
Caleb was still waiting for Eva to explain to him. But now Eva had left first so he began to wonder
whether what Penelope said was true or not.
In the material Luke Pearce found it was written that five years ago Eva did have spent a period of time
in the hospital, not for pregnancy, but for depression.
In a bad mood, Eva rode her motorbike really fast with her coat floating behind her. Cold wind lashing
on her face and she felt even colder in her mind's world. Her own mother, who had given birth to her,
didn't bring her up but even tried to plot against her.
At first Penelope would come here to explain and to let Eva persuade Caleb. But with Eva's arrogant
attitude in sight, she couldn't control her mouth anymore.
"What are you doing, Eva? It's your turn now." Bonnie was now accompanying Eva at the shooting site.
Now seeing Eva was absent-minded and she didn't respond to what the director said to her, she had to
remind her.
Luckily, she didn't make any mistake when acting and she managed to complete shooting a scene of
sweet memory in one take.
"What happened to you, Eva?" Bonnie found Eva looked quite abnormal.
"It's nothing. By the way, Bonnie, could you assign more work to me?" Eva asked.
Bonnie stared at Eva in an unbelieving way, "Why? I remember you said you wanted to concentrate on
filming for now?"
"Right. Yeah, just forget what I said."
"No, no, no, I mean I will make a new schedule for you. Now you've become quite popular so I want
you to get more exposure," Bonnie said happily.
"Okay, and when will the martial arts class start?"
"It can start at any time," answered Bonnie, taking a look at the schedule.
"Then I want it to start tonight," Eva wanted a full schedule so that she didn't have to get back to
Rosenfeld Hill often.
When William had recovered completely, she would move out.
Bonnie saw Eva suddenly adopted an aggressive attitude, she felt quite confused. But she didn't say
anything and began to make a new schedule.
"You've become such a workaholic now, Eva." Adam McCallum cared about Eva just as much as
Bonnie. He noticed the change on Eva immediately.
Eva smiled, "I just want to become as industrious as you, Mr. McCallum.
"I intended to invite you to dinner tonight. But now you are not available anymore," Adam said
disappointedly.
"Where do you want to invite me to?"
"A restaurant nearby. It's a nice place and the foods served there are delicious." Adam said those to
entice Eva.
"That's great! Shall we get there this noon?" hearing the word "delicious", Eva felt quite excited.
Gregory Underwood, the director, walked over to them from behind quietly and patted their head with
the script in hand, which scared Eva though his move was not heavy.
"Do you want to go with us, Mr. Underwood?" Eva said smilingly.
Gregory nodded after a while of silence.
Adam dared to invite the lead actress to a nice restaurant without asking him. He wouldn't let that
happen.
Then a sweet date became a "three's company". Adam felt quite disappointed.
Then a male supporting actor also followed them there. They soon got quite familiar with each other.
"Eva, how does it feel to be the alleged girlfriend of Mr. McCallum?" Bruce O'Neal, the supporting actor
in this film, joked with Eva.
"It's just rumors. If someday I really fall in love with Mr. McCallum, I can share some secrets between
us girls with you," Eva said with a smile on face.
"Between us girls?" Bruce repeated confusedly.
Eva said seriously, "Yeah, seemingly you want to have the rumors spread about you and Mr.
McCallum."
"No, no, no, definitely not, Eva." Bruce shook his head repeatedly and he now realized how sharp and
smart Eva was.
Actually, all the actors present were Eva's seniors. Eva started her career as an actor quite late and
she was also the youngest one here. So, the actors all liked to play some friendly jokes on her. But they
were also quite good to her.
It was quite late at night when Eva got back to Rosenfeld Hill. She hadn't been practicing with such
intensity and now she had received a bruise on her arm as a cost of the intensive training this time.
Eva thought Caleb had gone to bed. But when she got upstairs, she found him at the corner.
"Where did you go? It's quite late now!" Caleb said a bit hoarsely.
"It's none of your business, Mr. Livingstone," Eva had a glimpse at Caleb and avoided touching him.
Then she continued to walk towards her room.
"Wait." Caleb took Eva's arm.
"Ah..."
He accidentally touched the bruise on Eva's arm.
Suddenly, Caleb got a bit nervous and asked, "What happened to you?"
Eva still said in an indifferent voice, "You don't have to bother, Mr. Livingstone."
Then she shook off Caleb's hand and got back to her room.
