Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1228

Irene couldn't help but laugh, her eyes drifting to Kenzo. "This is the most I'm willing to compromise. Giving her this little task shouldn't be an issue, right?"Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

If these two really loved each other, surely they wouldn't let any harm come their way.

Irene was just bored; she wanted to see the drama unfold.

Kenzo watched Brielle, unsure of the tangled web between them. He wondered if Brielle could actually go through with it.

He wanted to go along, but he couldn't; he didn't have the right.

"Yeah," he replied to Irene.

Turning to Jaired, Irene instructed, "Jaired, take Ms. Brielle to North America."

Then she looked back at Kenzo. "Honey, what are your plans after she's gone?"

Kenzo stayed silent. He had no plans; he didn't even know how to keep living.

"Then stay on this island if you want. Jaired and I are heading to the North American royalty. After all, I am the heiress."

Jaired knew Irene was about to turn the royal court upside down.

If anyone was to blame, it was Arthur for being so foolish. He could have stayed out of her way but chose to provoke her instead.

Kenzo remained silent, just watching Brielle.

Brielle was oblivious to the tension between the three. She didn't understand why King had sent her to this island, guarded by three people, one of whom was Kenzo, someone she'd met at Beaconsfield College. She had too many questions, all needing answers directly from King.

A headache started to throb. Despite Myles's attempts to hypnotize her into forgetting a certain man, the memories only became clearer.

Jaired was already moving, ready to take Brielle away in a helicopter.

Kenzo followed closely, wanting to personally see her off.

As Brielle walked towards the chopper, Kenzo called out. "Brielle."

She turned, only to be pulled into a quick, awkward hug.

He smiled gently at her. "Make sure you nail your graduation project. Congratulations in advance."

So it was a graduation congratulations.

Brielle sighed in relief.

"Okay, Kenzo. Once I graduate, dinner's on me."

Her words echoed a promise she had made before.

Kenzo chuckled softly. "Alright, I'll hold you to that."

Brielle felt there was more he wanted to say, but they weren't close enough for deep conversations.

So, she nodded and climbed into the helicopter without hesitation.

Behind Kenzo, Irene picked up a gift he had hidden-a seashell bracelet from the island, but he had been too shy to give it to Brielle himself.

Irene, after a moment of thought, tossed the bracelet towards Brielle.

"Take it."

Brielle, surprised and unable to hear over the helicopter's noise, just nodded in acknowledgment.

Jaired, recognizing Kenzo's

handiwork, knew Irene couldn't have

made something so delicate. Killing was more her skill than crafting.

As the helicopter lifted off, Irene looked at Kenzo one last time. "Honey, considering our history, I have to ask one last time. Are you sure you won't come with us to North America? I can make you the First Gentleman."

Kenzo, sitting on the couch, stayed silent.

Irene, knowing she couldn't persuade him, leaned in for a lingering, ten-minute kiss before parting. "Then, goodbye."

Jaired waited nearby, frowning at the scene.

Not long after they left, Jaired saw a streak of light heading towards the island. His heart sank.

Seconds later, the island exploded, sinking into oblivion.
