Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 490

Selena couldn't shove him off, so she turned her head away, refusing to meet his intense gaze. Over the past three years, she had grown up a lot. Maybe it was because she had moved on that she wouldn't be led around by him so easily anymore.

Caught in this tricky situation, she decided it was best to play along for now. "Go ahead, ask." She figured he'd just recycle the same question, and she could brush it off without much thought. But when he finally spoke, she realized she had seriously overestimated him. He was even more shameless than he was three years ago! Everett's eyes pierced into her, catching every flicker of emotion on her face. His words were deliberate and heavy. "Have you and Callum slept together?"

Selena was taken aback, unable to respond for a moment. His gaze turned even icier, his hand brushing her lips, as he continued, "Did he touch you here?" His hand moved down her neck to her chest. "Or here?"

His voice was low, laced with a dangerous edge. The next second, Selena slapped him hard. In the cramped, quiet car, the slap echoed sharply. She didn't hold back, putting all her strength into it, shaking with anger and humiliation afterward.

Times had changed, and everyone had moved on. She thought he was just nursing a grudge and wanted to settle the score. Clearly, she was wrong. He hadn't changed a bit, maybe even gotten crazier. She had been completely fooled by his calm and dignified facade. Beneath those fancy suits, he was still the same reckless bully.

Everett turned his face slightly, the faint imprint of her fingers on his cheek. But he didn't seem to care. He wouldn't let her escape. His long fingers grabbed her chin, forcing her to face him again. "Have you, or haven't you?"

Selena's eyes welled up with anger. She lifted her chin, gave a faint smile, and then let loose, "None of your business!"

"Everett, we're divorced. Who I date, who I sleep with, is none of your damn business. What right do you have to ask? Why should I tell you?"

"Not gonna talk?"

Everett sneered, his cold fingers teasingly undoing her blouse, "Then I'll just have to see for myself!"

For crying out loud. This guy just couldn't take a hint!

Selena grabbed his hands tightly, stopping him from going any further. Divorced couples shouldn't have any more ties; what on earth was this? Her anger flared, making her edgy. Around him, she couldn't keep her cool at all. "Everett, it's been three years. Are you still just being a bully?" She didn't hide her disappointment and disdain, "Don't make me lose all respect for you!"

Their breakup had been messy, so she didn't expect him to be gracious. But with so much time passed, and him seemingly happy with someone new, why was he still pestering her? She didn't flatter herself into thinking he still had feelings for her. It was just his annoying possessiveness ffaring up again. He always had a double standard. He could do whatever he wanted, but she

couldn't!

Everett's breath was heavy, hot against Selena's face, as if trying to melt her. He was furious, so angry he wished he could, like before, silence her, claim her entirely, mark

her with his presence. No

ong else

should dare to even think about her.

But then...

Everett looked at her again, meeting her gaze. Her disgust and rejection cut deep. It reminded him of that

rainy night, of the messages and et

recordings he'd found on her phone. Her phone had been locked away in a safe ever since, untouched for three years. It was a wound for him too.

It was the reason he had forced himself to stay away three years ago.

A housekeeper noticed the car parked outside and came out to see what was going on. "Is the young lady back?" she called out softly.

Her voice shattered the suffocating tension in the car.

Selena snapped out of it, her voice calmer now. "Everett, let go of me! Don't make a scene!"novelbin

Night had fallen.
