Chapter 58
Chapter 58
In the living room, Master Giltstone was sitting on a rosewood armchair. He was wearing gold- rimmed reading glasses and his beard was nicely trimmed. Even though he was 86 years old, he looked like he was in his early sixties as his complexion was ruddy and shiny. The eyes behind his pair of glasses revealed a kind of deterrent power that came with vigor and vitality.
As he saw the two of them walking in, his eyes became as big as saucers. He supported his glasses with his hands and carefully examined the little boy who was brought in by his grandson. Was that the child?
"Grandpa." Augustine smiled gently and sat beside him. Augustine gently put Zeph down. Zeph raised his father-like face and looked at the Master Giltstone curiously.
Augustine looked at his son's fearless look and couldn't help laughing in a low voice, "Zeph, say hi to your great grandfather."
"Nice to meet you, Great-grandpa." The tender and clear voice was peaceful.
Master Giltstone reached out his hand with excitement and pulled Zeph to his front. He held his
glasses with one hand and studied Zeph carefully.
"He looks exactly like Augustine when he was a kid. He is definitely the child of the Giltstone
family." Master Giltstone chuckled and looked at Augustine with a sullen face, "Augustine, how do you explain this? Why was the child of the Giltstone family dawdling outside?"
Zeph blinked his eyes. He felt that his greatgrandfather was telling off his daddy. He couldn't help saying, "Great-grandpa, please don't scold daddy!"
"I'm not scolding him. I'm blaming him. How could he leave you outside?" Master Giltstone explained with a gentle face.
Zeph was still young! English was an extensive and profound language, it was difficult for him to understand what his great-grandpa was saying. He questioned with a confused face, "Why did great grandfather say that I was left outside? Greatgrandfather, I am not an object, how could I be left somewhere?"
The serious atmosphere was instantly smouldered by Zeph. Even Master Gilstone burst into laughter, Augustine also smiled.
Seeing that his great-grandfather and daddy were laughing, Zeph giggled. Then, he threw himself into Master Giltstone's arms and raised his head to look at his white beard, "Great-grandpa, your beard is so long! Can I touch it?"
Master Gilstone hadn't held such a little child for a long time. He reached out and held him up. Augustine, who was beside him, couldn't help but worry, "Grandpa, you shouldn't carry him."
"What? My Great-grandson, are you afraid that I can't hold him?" After that, Master Gilstone looked at the little baby in his arms lovingly. He had doted on Augustine since he was a child. Therefore, his affection toward children passed on to his great-grandson.
Augustine let him bond with Zeph. He had relaxed a little compared to when he was on his way. It seemed that Zeph had a way of captivating people and was loved by everyone.
"Tell me, have you been well all these years? Have you been wronged?" Master Gilstone looked at his great-grandson and asked.
Zeph blinked a few times and then nodded, "Mommy is very good to me."
There was a hint of surprise in the eyes of Master Gilstone, 'Does this child like his mother that much?'
"Zeph, let the butler tour you around. I have to talk to your great grandfather."
Zeph hopped down from Master Giltstone's legs obediently. Master Giltstone looked at the lively kid, he liked him very much. Master
Giltstone reached out to help him up as he was afraid that Zeph would fall.
Zeph held the butler's hand and went toward the garden. There was stern atmosphere in the quiet living room once again. Master Giltstone's gaze fell on Augustine, "The mother was once married to someone else, wasn't she? When you had a relationship with her, was she divorced yet?"
That look was full of reproach.
Augustine didn't expect that Grandpa had done an investigation Vivianna thoroughly.
"I was drugged when I met her at a hotel. That's why we had Zeph." Augustine explained calmly. He believed that his grandfather knew who the person behind all of it. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
"How did you meet Zeph?" Master Giltstone was as curious as a cat. The world was so big, it was such a coincidence to meet his son.
To be honest, Augustine initially thought that Zeph was deliberately schemed by Vivianna so that he would've met him. Maybe she'd remembered him since four years ago and wanted to bring the child closer to him to get benefits and wealth.
But when they were getting along, that idea was completely gone. He could only say it was fate. The little guy not only pulled his hair to let him do a DNA test, but also introduced his mummy to Augustine without fear or whatsoever.
Augustine was scared. If he gave up on the DNA test, he would be separated from his son for the rest of his life.
Fortunately, he made the right decision.
Hearing that, Master Gilstone praised Zeph, "I didn't expect that the child of Giltstone family to be so smart. He is only three years old yet is so intelligent."
After that, he frowned and thought for a moment before asking, "Does the child rely on this mother?"
"Zeph is brought up by Vivianna. Of course, he relies on her."
"If we send the child back to the palace to raise him, what would she think?" Master Giltstone asked calmly.
Augustine certainly knew his grandfather's plan. That was also his plan when he knew about the child's existence. He wanted to bring the child back to Giltstone family and cut off the relationship with Vivianna. But at that moment, he had changed a lot. He looked serious, "Grandpa, Zeph is still too young to live away from his mother. Can you wait for a couple years?"
"It'll be easier to separate them when he is still young. It will be more difficult when he grows up." Master Giltstone sighed, "Please tell the child's mother that since she gave birth to a Giltstone kid, we will never treat her wrongly."
Augustine couldn't tell Grandpa that Vivianna did not want any money. He was afraid that his grandpa would do soemthing ruthless and mean, Vivianna might not be able to handle it.
Augustine thought for a moment and begged, "Grandpa, please let Zeph and his mother live with me for a year. I want to divert his dependence on me. Then, it would be easier for him to return to the Giltstone family in the future. Although he is only three years old, he is more sensible and
smarter than any other children. If he finds out that we cut off the relationship between his mother and him, I am afraid that he will be traumatized and will hate us."
Master Giltstone squinted for a moment and nodded to show that he agreed, "Alright, but there is one thing you have to remember, don't be entangled with the child's mother. After a year, give the child's mother a sum of money to shut her out of his life. The custody of Zeph will not belong to the child's mother!"
