After Jenny’s mother had passed away that year, Gloria had actually reached out to Jenny’s other relatives. But they had declined to take her in, leaving Gloria to raise her.
Skylar smiled after grasping the situation. She said, “I see.”

Skylar nodded. Having eaten breakfast and regained some strength, she felt revitalized.
“Mr. Zeigler, could you check with the doctor if I can be discharged now? It’s just a stomach issue, and I don’t want to tie up a bed in a busy ward.”
“Sure, I’ll go find out,” Paul replied.
Once Paul left, Skylar found herself alone in the room. She then headed to the bathroom to freshen up. Upon returning, she was surprised to find Joe back so soon and already seated on the couch.
“I had Mr. Zeigler check with the doctor. If everything’s okay, I’d like to be discharged,” Skylar said with a smile.

Joe sensed a slight distance from Skylar and asked, “About Jenny, I hadn’t mentioned her earlier. Would you like to know anything?”
“Mr. Zeigler already filled me in. I understand Jenny’s relationship with you,” Skylar replied, smiling.
Joe paused briefly, then nodded. “Alright. Today, you can rest at the hotel. Tomorrow-
“I’ll manage on my own for tomorrow. I know Ms. Scott’s surgery has been scheduled for tomorrow, so you and Paul should be with her at the hospital,” Skylar said promptly.
She
had only met Jenny today, so it might make Jenny uncomfortable if she was there when the latter
went in for the surgery tomorrow.
Upon hearing Skylar’s words, Joe regarded her with a contemplative gaze.
