“What would a rich lady like you understand? You value pride over survival. But for small- timers like them? Pride means nothing. Staying alive is all that matters.”

She frowned. “Theda was abandoned in the countryside when she was little and lived a tough life for over ten years, right?”

“Then how could she not understand how hard it is for small–timers to survive?”

Her speech shocked everyone in the hall.
