My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2592

She then turned around and said, "Tremaine is an amazing president."

Suddenly, they heard some people shouting nearby.

Some men were having an argument.

An overweight, well-dressed man was arguing with another man who was in ragged clothes.

They were arguing because the overweight man wanted to take a picture of the fountain, but the other man refused to move.

The man in ragged clothes was a beggar and had sat down to ask for donations, the overweight was attempting to chase him away,

The man in ragged clothes however, refused to move.

The overweight man yelled, "Look at yourself! You're dressed like a bum! A poor man like you only ends up being a stain in such a beautiful sight! Go on! Get lost! This is no place for a beggar like you!"

The beggar straightened his back and said, "Yeah, I'm begging for food, so what?! This is Nashaland! It doesn't matter if you are rich or poor! We're all equal here! We all have the same rights!"

The overweight man chuckled.

He wasn't from Nashaland.

He was a foreigner.

Where he came from, rich people were treated very differently from the poor.

He firmly believed the rich were more privileged all over the world!

But for the rich and poor to be considered equal?!

That's impossible!

The overweight man called a police officer over.

He whipped out his passport and proudly said, "I come from one of the most powerful countries in the world! My worth is in the hundreds of millions! Now, I want to take some pictures of this beautiful fountain, but this horrid beggar is being an eyesore! I absolutely refuse to take a picture with such filth around! Remove him immediately!"

But the police officer refused his demand.

"In Nashaland, no one has the right to drive another person away from a public place if they aren't causing any harm or disturbance."

The overweight man's eyes widened in shock.

He pointed at the beggar and said, "But look at him! Look how raggedy he looks! You can't seriously mean to say that he and I are the same!"

The police officer explainedProperty © NôvelDrama.Org.

Everyone here has equal rights no matter how rich or poor you are."

The overweight laughed mockingly.

He then asked, "Who came up with such a ridiculous law?! It's absolutely laughable!"

The police officer's face hardened,

"Sir, our president wrote and enacted that law, if you dare to question our president, then I'll be more than happy to deport you right now!"

The overweight man's face fell when he heard that.

He didn't dare to say anything more and promptly left.

The beggar then shouted at the fleeing man, Yeah, that's right! Run back to your country! Having a lot money doesn't get preferential

We have the best president in the world! He advocates for equality for everyone!"

Yesseca was in shock after witnessing that exchange.

Everyone was equal here.

When she was with Tremaine, she often stressed this ideology to him.

Tremaine was still upholding it to this day.

And he was enforcing it well.

There was no way a beggar would be so bold as to tell that person off if he didn't.

Yesseca felt relieved.

She had never felt this relieved before in her life.

Ruth felt the same.

They were both relieved to learn that such a dream had come true.

After a moment, Ruth said, "I never imagined that Nashaland would actually become a country with true equality."

She had been a house servant ever since she was a child.

She was taught to see herself as a lowly servant, whose only purpose is to serve her master like an obedient dog.

She had wanted to be treated like an equal more than anyone.

But she didn't even dare to dream that it would be possible.
