Felix replied softly, “Okay, Mommyyy!” Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
“What a good boy.”
Agatha extended her hand and patted Esther’s shoulder, her voice gentle. “Esther, wait for me outside
while I assess Felix’s recovery.”
“Sure.” Esther wiped away tears of joy and rose quietly from her seat.
“Son, Mommy will be right outside. Be good, okay?”
Felix hummed sweetly.
Esther emerged from the room, her eyes filled with tears as she looked at Felix through the glass wall.
Agatha performed a postoperative check on Felix. His recovery surpassed expectations because of his
youth and Agatha’s surgical expertise.
“You can arrange for him to be transferred to a regular ward.”
“Of course, Dr. Foster.”
Agatha gently touched Felix’s face and whispered, “You’re such a good boy. Once you’re in the regular
ward, you’ll be able to see your mother.”
“Okay!”
Exiting the ICU, Agatha reassured, “Esther, Felix’s progress is much better than I anticipated. You can
be at ease now.”
“Thank you, Grandma Foster.”
Esther could not hold back her emotions and embraced Agatha. When the hospital issued the critical
illness notice, she almost went insane. But now, with Felix awake, it was as if her world had been
refreshed after a storm.
“Silly girl!” Agatha said with a hint of indifference, “If you carry love and emotions lightly, your life will
become a beautiful journey.”
Certain individuals were fortunate to discover a love that could mend them for a lifetime. Yet, others
were less lucky, wrestling with the complexities of love and struggling to find the right person.
“Okay.”
Agatha’s voice carried a gentle tone. “Felix will soon be transferred to a regular ward. You should
decorate the room with his beloved books and toys. Given his condition, he’ll likely remain hospitalized
for at least a week.”
“Okay.”
Esther left the hospital feeling incredibly happy, and her bodyguards followed closely behind. When she
got back to Primus Mansion, she started gathering Felix’s things.
When the news reached the property manager, they personally asked about Felix’s condition. After
that, Esther told Melinda to take care of bringing meals to the hospital each day. She would give
Melinda a menu in advance and explain what needed to be done. The main concern was making sure
the food followed any dietary restrictions Felix might have after surgery. Once everything was ready,
Esther and her bodyguards left the underground garage. Esther’s heart tightened as they went past the
spot where Felix had gotten hurt.
Even though the cleaning staff had removed all the blood, a feeling that couldn’t be erased lingered in
her heart. It was a reminder that some things couldn’t be completely cleaned away. Not long after they
left Primus Mansion, the driver noticed a black sedan following them consistently.
“We’re being followed.”
Esther subconsciously turned to look in the distance, spotting Bradley in a low-profile black Volvo
trailing their car.
“Ignore it. It’s Bradley.”
The bodyguards tensed further upon hearing Bradley’s name. His behavior had proven to be entirely
unpredictable, and based on past encounters, they were wary about any engagement
with him.
The driver instinctively pressed on the gas pedal, maneuvering through traffic. They finally released a
sigh of relief only when the black Volvo disappeared from the rearview mirror.
When Esther reached the hospital, Felix had already been moved to a regular ward.
