Chapter 513
Chapter 513
Esther and Felix had already arrived in Capitus. Felix still needed to be in the hospital for observation.
Agatha worked at the hospital, so she guided them directly there.
Inside the VIP ward, everything they needed was readily available.
Agatha told Esther, “Rest well here. I’ll come see you tomorrow.”
“Okay, Grandma Foster. Take care.” Esther waved back.
The weather in Capitus was a bit dry, so they had a humidifier running in the ward, maintaining a
comfortable room temperature.
Since Felix had fallen asleep on the plane, Esther hadn’t woken him. She had gently carried him into
the ward and settled him before tending to herself.
Moving to a new city meant starting over, and Esther was feeling quite anxious about it. After spending
five years in prison, she had missed out on many changes in the world, like advancements in
technology, medicine, education, and lifestyle.
After her release, Esther slowly caught up on the past five years through the Internet.
Sitting by Felix’s side, she tenderly brushed his hair.
Felix reached out and hugged her, murmuring in his sleep, “Mommy, love you….”
Esther leaned down and gave his cheek a gentle kiss.
During her time back in the country, Esther hadn’t been in touch with Xara much due to her concern for
Felix’s condition and the progress of her divorce case.
As such, she decided to call Xara. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
The phone rang for a while before Xara picked up, greeting her with a slightly tearful tone, “Esther,
congratulations on your
successful divorce.”
Worried, Esther asked, “Xara, what’s wrong?”
Xara took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and whispered, “The doctor said that if we want to
have a child to save Jacob, we need to hurry. Otherwise…” She paused, trying to compose herself.
“Let’s not talk about my situation. I watched your trial online. Your lawyer was amazing, practically
outshining Bradley’s legal team.”
“It’s mainly because we were very well-prepared with evidence. The law is just, and I’ve gained the
freedom I wanted.” Esther looked at the dark sky and continued, slightly worried. “Even though the
court ruled in favor of our divorce, Bradley won’t easily let go, given his pride.”
Xara angrily snorted. “On what grounds? He used to think it was you who harmed his grandfather, but it
wasn’t you! Instead, he almost married the actual murderer.”
“Xara, do you know what he told me during the break from the trial? He asked if I no longer wanted to
know my daughter’s whereabouts. He grasped my weak point once again.”
Just thinking about Bradley’s threat made Esther’s eyes redden.
“I loved him so much, to the point of giving up everything humbly. What right does he have… to use my
children to threaten me? He doesn’t even love me. Why can’t he let go now and part ways amicably?”
Xara cursed angrily, “Men are all jerks. Esther, let me tell you, you must not let Bradley threaten you. If
he dares to use your child’s whereabouts to threaten you, sue him. We’re not afraid. The law will
definitely ensure justice for you.
“By the way, you now have evidence proving you’re not responsible for what happened five years ago.
You’ve got to appeal to prove your innocence. Compensation doesn’t matter-what matters is that you
can hold your head high and live a clear life from now on.”
“Xara, how is Sunshine doing?”
“Sunshine is with Jacob, and she’s doing well,” Xara whispered, her eyes filled with longing. “Esther, I
can’t express how much I wish I could have a daughter like her if I can have another child. Sunshine is
just so well-behaved and utterly adorable!
“Xara, during my time in prison, I had the opportunity to learn from a highly skilled holistic medicine
practitioner. She’s renowned for her expertise. What I’m suggesting is, if Jacob is alright with it, would
you consider bringing him to see her?
“Let’s not dwell on whether he can be cured or not, but at least we can try to stabilize his condition
temporarily, giving both of you some time. How does that sound?”
“I can’t make that decision on my own. I’ll need to discuss it with Steffan first. Please send me the
information about your
mentor.”
“I’ll send it to you later,” Esther replied softly. “Xara, I’ve moved to Capitus now. Once I’m settled here,
you can come for a visit.”
“Sounds good.”
