She then went to the kitchen to prepare tea for Esther and Jasper.

While observing them, Liora’s eyes radiated warmth and invitation. “If Mandy brought you here, you

must be her closest friends”

Mandy returned with a tray laden with tea and snacks. “Mom, they’re really good friends of mine.”

Liora’s expression softened as she held her daughter’s hand. “Mandy, with friends like these, I have

only one lingering regret.”
