Chapter 50
Chapter 50
However, Liam thought that the Carson family was no big deal. They were just a distinguished family in Athenapolis. How could they be compared to the Coles? They would be leading themselves to
disaster if they were to go against the Coles.
All Liam could think of was Celena’s condition. With a frown and a frosty glint in his eyes, Liam looked at Howard, nodded calmly, and said, “Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Mosier. I appreciate your kind
consideration.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Upon saying that, Liam left with the Four Elders and his four
assistants. The Igrargon and the others left in an orderly fashion as they came before.
They left without any trouble as nobody dared to stop them.
Their battle robes with gold embroideries and their overwhelmingly formidable bearing were enough to stop everyone from doing
anything reckless.
Howard and the others stood in the living room and watched the group of people leave. It was after the last elite of The Igrargon drove out of everybody’s sight that Howard breathed a sigh of relief. He was breathing heavily.
Liam’s bearing was too terrifying.
T
He was the commander-in-chief of Pendragon Warriors and the head of the Cole family. Who would dare to cross someone as terrifying as
him?
A man in a police uniform walked over with a stack of books. He glanced at the crowd in the living room and asked softly, “Mr. Mosier,
how should we deal with the Walkers?”
Howard looked around. The Walkers were once insufferably arrogant, yet they were frozen in place with terror like defeated losers.
Keith had cockily threatened Howard in the police station a few days ago. At that moment, however, he was hanging his head and not saying a word. He was doing his best not to attract any attention.
However, the more a person feared something, the more likely it would occur.
“Gosh! Isn’t this Mr. Keith? Please don’t be mad that my subordinates didn’t recognize who you are.” Howard sneered as he looked at Keith as he stood among the crowd. He did not hide how delighted he felt as he spoke.
He said to his subordinates, “What’s the matter with you guys? This is honorable Mr. Keith from the Walker family. How could you offend him? I’m the police chief of Drunham City, and I can’t even afford to offend him, much less you.”
Gordon immediately played along with Howard. With a troubled look, he said, “I usually only deal with people who are nobody. I’ve never met Mr. Keith before. W-What should I do now?”
Howard gave Gordon a look of approval for being so observant. He pretended to apologize to Keith, saying, “Please don’t be mad, sir. Please pardon me. We don’t wish to arrest you either, but we have orders from above, you see. I’m very troubled too.”
Howard and his men were the only ones left after Liam left with his troop. The Walkers felt in power again.
Keith was no exception. After Howard poked fun at him, he got angry. He felt displeased as he looked at Howard and said, “Don’t go overboard, Howard! This is the Walker Mansion!”
“It looks like you still haven’t got a clue about the situation, Keith.
Your family has fallen. Morgan’s body is just right there. Have you forgotten about it? Hmph. Who do you think you are?”
Howard found it funny to see Keith looking so insufferably arrogant at that moment. Keith was cocky when he threatened Howard in his office a few days ago. Unexpectedly, he was still as cocky at the moment when the Walkers were already finished.
Howard sneered and said, “The tables have turned. Do you really think. your family is invincible? From today on, the Walkers no longer exist in Drunham City.”
Upon saying that, Howard gave his subordinate a signal. His subordinates immediately understood him and detained Keith.
