Chapter 119 Throwing Tantrums
"After returning from Salin City, he seemed to be working hard," Byron said calmly.
"Oh..."
Athena appeared utterly disinterested.
"That person named George..."
Athena frowned.
"I already told you. George and I were childhood neighbors. It was a coincidence! My grandparents
took care of him, so that's why I took him to the cemetery! Don't misunderstand!" Her tone was very
unpleasant.
Byron slowly became serious.
"Don't you ever let me finish what I'm saying?"
Athena remained silent.
"He has been working on a rescue plan for children born with congenital heart disease. I anonymously
donated money for that cause."
Athena paused, looking puzzled.
Byron glanced at her.
"Athena, I may not be a good person, but I'm not that bad."
Athena pursed her lips.
After a while, she finally said, "Thank you."
Byron looked at her.
Feeling a bit deflated, he had tried various ways to please her and make her happy.
But why...
She still seemed unhappy.
Athena changed the subject. "I want some hot food."
"Okay," Byron responded.
Afterward, both of them fell into silence.
Byron was already a man of few words.
And now Athena didn't feel like talking.
Feeling drowsy, she glanced outside and saw a familiar figure on the emergency lane.
"It's Madam Stella!"
Athena suddenly felt wide awake and quickly signaled for Byron to pull over.
Byron also noticed Rose.
He slowly brought the car to a stop.
Athena immediately unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car.
"Take it slow!"
Byron worried that she might stumble.
"Madam Stella!"
Athena got out of the car and called out to Rose.
Rose turned around, paused for a moment upon seeing Athena, then smiled and said, "Miss Newton,
what a coincidence!"
"What happened to the car?" Athena walked over.
"I don't know." Rose shrugged helplessly. "I called for a tow truck, but it hasn't arrived yet."
At that moment, Rose's gaze shifted to behind Athena.
A man wearing a black designer suit and a black wool coat walked confidently, with long strides.
"Mr. Crawford?" Rose seemed surprised.
She glanced at the car parked behind them but didn't see anyone else inside.
"Hello, Madam Stella." Byron nodded slightly.
"You recognize me?" Rose looked surprised.
"You didn't introduce yourself earlier. I thought you didn't want others to know your identity," Byron
politely replied.
"You two know each other?" Athena was still in anger.
It suddenly dawned on her that no one introduced Byron at the care home, yet Rose accurately found
Byron and even called him.
"I have heard of Madam Stella's name for a long time," Byron said, draping the cashmere scarf he was
holding over Athena's shoulders.
It was a chilly autumn evening.
The weather was cold.
But Athena quickly took off the scarf and wrapped it around Rose.
Rose smiled brightly.
However, her gaze shifted back and forth between Athena and Byron, becoming somewhat subtle. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
"What happened to Jaxson?" Athena noticed that Jaxson was standing up front, looking sullen.
"He's hungry." Rose chuckled, "He has always been like this since he was little. He can't handle
hunger. It easily makes him irritable!"
Irritable?
Athena looked at Jaxson's mature appearance.
It was difficult to associate him with a child throwing tantrums randomly.
