My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2121

Chapter 2121

After three seconds of stony consideration, I lifted the quilt and got out of bed to dress.

I, however, once again found myself in trouble. Before the ceremony, Freya and two other girls helped me put the dress on. Due to the complicated back- locked dresses with several layers inside out, I had no idea how to remove the outfit.

Hendrix tied the jade belt around his waist, leaving only the outer robe. When he saw me standing as still as a statue, he walked right over to me. With a glance to the side, he stepped forward and intermingled the ties around my wrists, putting the gauze-like layer on for me.

His movements were focused and meticulous, his thick eyebrows raised into the shape of two eagles with their wings soared.

Even with the dim lighting, I could see the expression on his face clearly from my angle. The feeling of assurance emanated from him.

The world at that moment was so quiet.

"Hendrix," I called out.

"Hmm?" He responded and picked up another layer to lace it up for me, still in the same position

as before.

"Do you love me that much?" I asked smugly, feeling as if my heart was smeared with honey. It had been a long time since I asked such a question.

"Yes." He was back to the word-shy Master he was. Before I pouted, he added kindly, "It's like breathing, it's something we don't have to learn to do, but we'll die if we don't breathe. I'll die if I don't love you."

Although I had intended to make things difficult for him, I was instead comforted by what he said. I was too embarrassed to throw a tantrum as I murmured, "But I'm not good at all. I'm easily emotional and enjoy making fun of you. In fact, before today, I still think that the person I've been loving and caring for most is the child..."

My voice softened, and I lost my confidence to continue.

I did not understand why I had such double standards. I did not allow Hendrix to be sad, but I felt grieved.

Hendrix's movements paused for a moment before he pretended as if he hadn't heard anything. Putting on the outermost layer of the robe, he calmly uttered, "It doesn't matter because it's you. As I said at the wedding, no one can compare to you; I mean it."

He tucked my collar in and looked straight into my eyes. "Mrs. Roberts, will you remember this?"Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

My nose was sore to the point where I thought tears would start streaming down my cheeks as soon as I spoke. I could only nod meekly. "Yes."

Hendrix's eyebrows curled up in

satisfaction as he put his outer robe on and handed me the mask, "This is the Night of Mystery. All western costume lovers wear masks to avoid being recognized."

It was a great thing to take that into consideration. Seeing how grand that day's wedding had been, if we were discovered, we would unavoidably be surrounded by spectators.

The reality was that we were recognized as soon as we went downtown.

"Why does this wedding dress look like the two sets Hendrix and Arianna had worn today?"

"You must be mistaken. The organizer mentioned that there are 99 pairs of couples tonight. The western costume outfits are all alike. How could you tell them apart?"

"I'm pretty sure I'm right. Although the style is similar, the dragon and the phoenix on Hendrix and Arianna's outfits are embroidered in gold thread. Notice how both of them pass by the street light and how their outfit reflects light!"

"It's true! Mr. Roberts!"

"Shh! Why are you yelling!"

One of the gossipers seemed to be about to kick up a fuss, but someone else stopped them.

"The rich are humans as well. They

donned their masks for a stroll to experience life as an ordinary couple. A gentleman should fulfil others' wishes. We should act like we don't know anything."

"You're right. I'll secretly follow them without exposing their identity. Watching the love life of the richest couple doesn't do any harm!"

There was then a very bizarre scene.

The crowd slowly crept up behind us as we walked down the street, filming us with their cell phones...

"Didn't you say they wouldn't recognize us?"

"It's a mistake. Just pretend they don't exist."

I was at a loss for words.

The street was crowded with them. How could I pretend as if they did not exist?
