My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2189

Chapter 2189

"Do I look like I've got nothing better to do?" Hendrix grabbed my hand and explained, "Cyril is one of the most popular men in his industry. He has countless eyes on him at all times. Do you think I even need to keep an eye on him? I did help them to cover up most of the news about them though."

I caught him saying that. I opened my eyes wide and asked, "Wow, what kind of news? What was it about?"

Hendrix suddenly rolled over and pressed me under his body. Before I could react, he had lifted both my hands over my head and held them tightly. "Since you're so concerned about these matters, why don't we experience it ourselves?"

As he said this, his other hand slipped into my pajamas.

Knowing that he was being serious about this, I quickly begged for mercy, "Hendrix, I was wrong. I'm not interested in any of it after all. I'm not going to ask about it anymore, so stop playing around!"

Hendrix lowered his head and moved closer to my face. He rubbed his nose against mine and asked,

"Aren't you going to repay me after everything I've done for you?"

"What?" I was taken aback. Then, my face turned pale. "That dessert... Is that what you mean?"

I wondered why he was being so kind tonight!

"What else?" Hendrix whispered heavily.

"..." I will never eat anything he cooks ever again!

Even so, I really wasn't keen on doing it tonight!

"Hendrix..." I pleaded bitterly with a pitiful look on my face. "I've been very busy with Anne at the company today. We also went shopping after that. I'm really tired. How about another day?"

I gulped and wasn't sure whether I had managed to persuade this beast to step away.

Hendrix was unexpectedly easy to talk to tonight. He let go of me and lay back down without saying anything.

Before I could speak, he then said leisurely, "There is no such thing as keeping a secret forever, especially with how popular Cyril is now. The news will reach the Zimmer family sooner or later and that's when the chaos will start."

I didn't dare to answer him, so I simply laid down, leaned against him and fell asleep peacefully.

No matter how powerful the Zimmer family was, even if they used their military forces, Freya wouldn't just stand back and sit down quietly. No one knows who would be the last one standing after.

Due to how closely connected Foresty Wine was with the Skull Organization, Anne decided to take drastic measures and proposed to purchase wine from Andoland, the largest wine company in the country.NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

After everything was confirmed, the alcohol in the club would be solely provided by the Roberts Group. This way, we would avoid the risk of purchasing fake wine while also preventing others from taking advantage of our business.

After obtaining the information from Freya, it was confirmed that Leonil had made a private deal with Quinn, Lucas, and the others. I immediately set off with Anne and went to Andoland to officially propose the purchase agreement.

We had made an appointment with them at a restaurant. After getting off the plane, we took a taxi to the agreed meeting point.

We pushed the door open into the private room, not knowing whether we should walk in or not.

Aside from the head of Andoland, there was someone else sitting inside with his back to us.

His body was thin and his skin was dark. It was very obvious who this person was, he was also very recognizable.

Anne had taken a very short time to

et

decide on purchasing wine from Andoland and not many people knew about it. Quinn however, was able to guess her next move in advance and had arrived ahead of usat seemed like this gangster wasn't as simple as he seemed.

"Are you Miss Reid?" The person in charge quickly stood up and greeted Anne, assuming that I was her secretary "I've heard that you were young, but I didn't expect you to be this young. You are so successful at such a young age. Come on in, take a seat."

Anne looked at me, waiting for me to speak.

Before I could say anything, Quinn said, "There's a saying in Zuckerburg. Take things as they come. Miss Reid, are you afraid?"

This simple sentence seemed to have triggered her concerns. She stretched out her hand to hold me and lead me to a chair. She smiled the entire time and didn't show a trace of fear.

The person in charge was in high

spirits. He seemed particularly pleased with the fact that he was able to strike a deal with the Roberts Group. "Miss Reid, you are so polite. It is our honor to work with Andoland. It is so kind for the both of you to have come here personally. MÃ. Quinn and I had the same idea. If the three of us work together, well be able to build a brand new wine kingdom! At that time, nothing will be impossible!" He was obviously drunk but he spoke fairly clearly.

It seemed that before we had arrived, Quinn had already convinced him that our arrangement would involve the three of our companies and had even reached a verbal agreement with him.

We had originally wanted to cut the story short and come to an agreement. But, things didn't turn out as we had hoped. Until the very end, Anne and I never once mentioned the purchase offer at all.

The head of Andoland was completely drunk and someone came to pick him up after dinner. Quinn walked us out to the entrance and had a word with me before we got into the car.

"Miss Reid, I hope this situation today will be our first and very last time. Go home and convince Hendrix to sign the contract with us as soon as possible. We've been working very well together as you can see. Let's not ruin this relationship."

He was much shorter than me, so he had to raise his head to talk to me. He rolled his eyes most of the time looking rather sinister and terrifying.

"I think you've misunderstood us again. We've never worked together before and I can't control Hendrix's decisions anyway."

Quinn shook his head as he listened, looking extremely impatient. "I don't want to hear any of that. Our relationship started ever since the day I bought your painting. Don't even dare think of pushing us away and doing this yourself, understand?"

He glared at me fiercely. After walking a few steps away, he came back and said, "If you don't care about our current working relationship, I have no qualms about causing trouble in your life."

Quinn left after saying that.

Watching him walk away from a distance, I realized he looked rather funny as I laughed.

Did he think I was free from trouble in my life as it is? That kind of threat meant nothing to me.
