My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2236

Chapter 2236

She hadn't changed at all. She was still just as rhetorical and unreasonable as before. I couldn't believe that I had dreamt of her turning a new leaf after all these years. She should have, at least, learned to be more emphatic. Obviously, I was much too naive.

Behind her bluff was nothing more than a guilty conscience. There was no point in arguing. Instead of wasting time with her, it was better to go home and think about how to deal with Jordan.

I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths of cold air. After calming down, I turned around and promptly left.

Andrea however, refused to give up. She stepped forward and pulled me back. Before I could react, I lost my balance and fell backwards.

I then felt a pair of hands holding onto my waist up. The first person I thought to be my hero here was Hendrix. It must have been Hendrix. However, my eyes met with a pair of hypocritical looking eyes.

Jordan's lips curved into an indescribable smile. "Are you all right?"

I stood up using his arms and moved away, keeping a good distance from him.

The smile on Jordan's face deepened. Like a wild cat, who had a well-thought-out plan, he was thrilled by intimidating and threatening his prey.

When I regained my composure, I looked up again and spotted Hendrix standing beside him, blank faced.

They had come together, but it was Jordan who saved me from falling down. Did he do this to avoid suspicion, or did he do it to hide something else? Jordan answered without asking any questions, "As you wish, I've brought him back. Are you happy now?"

He always had a warm and harmless look on his face, just like the boy next door that could never do anything wrong. The black frame around his glasses gave an extra hint of sincerity and of good nature. However, only those who had really gotten to know him would know just how horrible his rage and ambition were, hidden under that mask.

I know that he had reasons behind everything he did to please me.

We both got what we wanted. There was nothing for me to worry about anymore, for now at least. I walked straight towards Hendrix. I tried to put up the meanest face I could, like a housewife who's about to give him a stern talking to. "Let's go home." Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Hendrix's deep and serene eyes looked at me calmly. He stayed still. His blank face looked as if to say 'Don't even dream about it.'

The moment our eyes met, I felt that long-lost feeling of alienation once again. It was like a kite with a broken string, no longer connected.

Disappointment and anger got the best of me. I thought of the trick Aaron did last time. Hendrix didn't seem to budge. I didn't hesitate to make a phone call to Aaron, "Bring a few people to the largest club under the Roberts Group. Immediately."

I then simply hung up the phone and glared at Hendrix angrily.

"You b*stard! I'm taking you home right now! Nothing will stop me!" At least, that's what I thought I would do.

"What are you doing?" Hendrix finally said. His eyes slightly narrowed, as if he was trying to figure out my plan. His cold behavior was absolutely annoying.

If you mess with the bull, you'll get the horns.

Hendrix drew his neck back, but he failed in his attempt to avoid me. He straightened his neck and attempted to fight back.

When I looked at him, I thought of nothing else but love. Nothing was going to change that.

Jordan then broke the silence. "I told you, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Do I need to get you two love birds a room? You two can have some time alone there."
