My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2241

Chapter 2241

Aaron patted me on the shoulder. "Be strong. There will be a tough battle ahead. I'm going to pick up Emma and Dunn so that we can watch out for each other."

He wasn't just my brother, he was also Emma's husband and Dunn's father. Every second he spent with me increased the risk his wife and son would be in.

Knowing that I couldn't be so selfish, I opened the door and got out of the car with a smile.

As the door closed, Aaron rolled down the window and stuck his head out to comfort me, "I'll be back in an hour. If you can't sleep, make some supper to kill some time."

I smiled wider and nodded seriously. "Okay."

I watched as his car turned around and drove off as its headlights faded away from the gate. I then felt incredibly lucky. I must have saved the universe in my past life to have Aaron as a brother.

With him, even if things were hopeless, everything didn't seem so bad.

Humans were magical creatures. We would be fine no matter how much abuse we suffered. So long as our spirit wasn't defeated, then we would be happy.

I wrapped my coat tightly around my body and took a deep breath. I finally took one last peek at Aaron's car and then felt ready to go into the house. The moment I lifted up my foot, a huge crash broke out throughout the night sky. I widened my eyes in an instant and ran towards the gate. "Aaron, you'd better be safe! Please! Oh please!"

The second before the iron gate was shut, I slipped out from the gap. Several security guards saw what had happened and immediately called for backup in their walkie-talkies. "Hello, can you hear me? I need people at the main gate. Mrs. Robert had gone out alone. Come quickly!"

I couldn't care less of the dangers that were hidden away in the dark night as I followed the blaring sound of the car alarm. I ran towards the red taillight under the shade of the forest.

As I turned the corner, I saw a group of men dragging Aaron out of his car. I shouted like crazy, "Stop!"

"Help! Somebody, please help! Help!" I shouted and ran towards Aaron and the group of men.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

As I got closer, I noticed that Aaron's

car had collided head-on with another car. The next thing I saw was a group of men appearing with steel pipes, running towards me. The smell of gasoline filled the air.

The irritating smell of gasoline nearly made me throw up. I resisted the urge to gag while I tried to pass through the men who were in my way. I was then caught by two of those men shortly.

Without the slightest ounce of mercy, I was forced to kneel on the ground. One of the men grabbed my chin, signaling me to witness the disaster in front of me.

Aaron was like a dead fish that had been thrown onto the ground. He seemed to have lost consciousness. He didn't respond after being harshly dropped onto the ground. Blood gushed out from his forehead, quickly covering half of his face.

In the blink of an eye, the tallest man approached Aaron. He picked Aaron up as though he was as light as a feather. He adjusted Aaron's right hand while he lifted up a steel pipe in his other hand.

The man revealed his white teeth and smiled like a ghost that had crawled out from hell. He then uttered sinisterly, "Are you seeing this, woman? It was this hand, am I right?"

"Bang!" "No!"

I struggled desperately, but the man showed no signs of stopping. Once, twice, the steel pipe was now stained with blood, but the man had grown even more excited and started hitting him harder.

Aaron woke up in agonizing pain and howled while on the ground, "Argh...!"

The other men didn't stop him. Instead, they rushed forward and pressed down on Aaron's hands and feet, preventing him from struggling.

My heart was bleeding and my tears were flowing. "Please, please, don't touch my brother. Please, spare him. Anybody? Somebody, please help my brother!"
