honored guest, and we’d like to waive all your expenses at the hotel as a token of our gratitude.”
“That’s not necessary.” Celeste thought for a moment, “But I do have a small favor to ask. I wonder if
you could help me.”
The manager quickly put on an attentive listening expression,
Celeste said, “Could you let me into the charity dinner venue?”
The manager hesitated, “Is Ms. Colton an invited guest tonight?”
Celeste pursed her lips, “No.”
Her husband was an invited guest tonight, but she didn’t want to call Liam right now. Firstly, her phone
was broken, and secondly, even if she told Liam, he wouldn’t side with her because his sister was the
one who caused the trouble.
The manager apologized, “I can help you with anything else, but I can’t make the decision on this
matter. Tonight’s charity dinner requires an invitation for admission to prevent journalists from sneaking
in and invading the guests’ privacy. Even I don’t have the privilege to bring someone in without an
invitation. I’m really sorry.”
Celeste’s eyes were filled with a sense of disappointment, but the next second, an invitation suddenly

persuading me a bit. I should be able to bring a date, right?”
The last sentence was for the manager.
The manager nodded and said, “Of course.”
