Chapter 12
The rumors on Leid’s body were disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye. Three large tumors on his abdomen vanished completely without leaving a trace. However, the best remained the same. Given Loid’s current condition, the disappearance of just three tumors was quite remarkable.
Shaun was stunned for a long time before making a phone call. His voice filled with excitement
“Get here immediately, right now!”Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
Hang regained his composure, Daniel asked quickly, “Loid, do you feel any discomfort?”
“My breathing is much smoother, and my blood flow is better,” Loid replied while looking toward the stairs. His deep eyes flickered with complex emotions.
Dansel let out a sigh of relief. Although three tumors had disappeared, he was still worried that the pill might threaten Loid’s life. Thankfully, Loid seemed fine.
Twenty minutes later, Neil Austin arrived with several doctors. Neil was the youngest medical doctor at the Medical Research Institute, specializing in medicine. He was the best in the country. The doctors he brought along were also top–ter.
As soon as Neil arrived, he instructed the doctors to examine Loid. After learning about Loid’s condition from Shaun’s call, Neil brought various diagnostic machines.
After completing all the tests and waiting for about ten minutes, Nell looked at the results with an astonished expression.
Ms. Laumer, some of the toxins in your body have been eliminated.”
Shaun asked excitedly. “Really? Is he cured?”
Neil replied, “It’s hard to say. Only a small portion of the toxins have been cleared. There are still a lot of toxins in his body. Tean’t yet determine whether the pill can completely eradicate the toxins or just provide temporary relief.”
After a short pause, Neil continued, “But based on the current test results, several of Loid’s damaged organs are slowly recovering, and he can survive for another six months.”
“That’s fantastic!” Shaun roclaimed, spinning around in excitement.
The Laurier family had tried every possible method and sought out every famous doctor in the country, both modern and alternative, but no one could cure Loid.
Unexpectedly, marrying a different bride from the Martinez family extended Loid’s life by four months. This was the best news they had heard in the past six months.
With four additional months, they had more time to find the elusive doctor, Shadowbane, and there was a chance Loid could be saved. Even if they couldn’t find Shadowbane, Neil would have more time to determine the poison affecting Loid.
Shaun had utterly forgotten that half an hour ago, he was thinking about how to deal with Lily.
“Loid, your fiancée is a gem!” Shaun said, grinning widely
Loid leaned back in his chair quietly
Daniel glanced toward the stairs, pursed his lips, and ran upstairs.
“Comeback!” Loid’s cold voice echoed just as Daniel reached the stairway.
Daniel paused, his expression solemn. “Loid, I have to save you. You can punish me no matter how you want.”
Daniel had been by Loid’s side for many years and had never disobeyed him. But today, he had to defy Loid. Without waiting for a response, Daniel turned and rushed upstairs.
Loid didn’t try to stop him again. He had long been indifferent to life and death, but he couldn’t die just yet. His death would cause trouble for many people. If there was a chance to cure his illness, he had to take that chance
Loid pursed his lips, staring silently at the top of the stairs.
Lilly, having finished packing, received a message from Duncan. As she was replying, someone suddenly appeared before her and knelt with a thud.
“Ms. Brooks, please save Lold.”
Daniel got on his knees. He wasn’t ashamed to beg a girl ten years younger than himself. He was willing to do anything as long as he could save Lold.
Lily glanced at him, then calmly continued replying to her message.
After a moment, she put away her phone, stood up, and walked toward the door. “Don’t ever do that again.”
When she got downstairs, she saw several people in white coats in the living room. One of them was staring at her intently.
